Versatile: Alternate World 90 Chapter 90

The machines are all working. Not a single worker are inside the area and only the metallic machines are seen in this place. What is more bizarre looking in this place is the wall and the machines. It was like some sort of alien technology is currently on the work but in reality, it was not an alien tech but the machines that works on Alternate World.

Tojiro Akisame stares at the machines that moves around on his office that is overseeing the work. A young man arrives on the office that Tojiro is staying in and bows down.

"He seems to be progressing better than expected. Other than all of his decisions, it seems he is more striving than usual. In my point of view, he never thinks of that "game" as a game but his other home. He is really exceptional," That particular young man said.

"Everyone thinks this is just a game huh? Thankfully, he didn't see this place as a game. How about his status on the real world?" Tojiro asks.

"He is progressing more than usual. If he progress more than usual, he will be able to unlock his water ability potential," that young man answered.

"I see, no matter how I look at this world, I can't think that something like this is just a mere fragment that blocks a greater catastrophe from happening. I hope he will get much better and gain more strength. I hope this new patch will strengthen him more," Tojiro said before facing again to the machines. Whatever he is thinking, no one knows. The young man bowed down before he leaves the office, leaving Tojiro staring on the machines again...

I was a bit harsh but I have no choice. I still wanted to play solo in this game. I can't just change my mind into playing the game with others right now. Yes, I already got on party with other people but that doesn't mean I will abandon my own principles of a solo player.

After that, I changed my clothes into my red hoodie and black pants with black shoes, I decided to go out once in a while. I can't reconnect to the Alternate World yet since the patch is still ongoing. I have to stay outdoor once in a while.

I decided to buy a new gadget. Although I have enough money, I did not leisurely bought some of that stuff even in the past. I decided to go to the mall and check those stuffs.

Smart phones are getting more better and futuristic now as they no longer bear the smartphone look but the holographic phone now. As expected of the great inventors on this world. If not for their tireless effort of modifying and researching progress, we won't be using these things.

I arrived on the mall. Its quite the same place but it was bustling with people holding holograms and doing things like chatting, Video Chats, and gaming are all present in the mall. There are still people using the old smartphone models but they are not that plenty. Only a few amount of people who still can't afford to buy one.

I decided to go to the bank and withdraw the money I earned in the bank, I take out the pen in my pocket which is a pen that I kept on using despite losing all of its ink. It has sharp point and practically, I use them as my own weapon. Not exactly that lethal but it can bypa.s.s security since its not a contraband kind.

I approached the ATM machine after arriving on the bank situated in the mall and begin on withdrawing my hard earned money. I withdraw 200,000 yen in case that the new phone is expensive. I know that holographic phones are expensive but I don't know their exact price.

After the menial process of the money, I wander around he mall. Its been a while since I decided to walk around. Posters about the Alternate world and other things are being posted. Even a few celebrities are now advertising for the game. I was so amazed that this game made the whole world united. Not a single country opposes this game and everyone are free to play.

Many children are nagging their parents to buy a cabin. I smiled at those emotions that people shown This game is indeed a world changer. Sooner or later, people would be playing this game without any sort of problem. But that would be on the future.

Just as I was walking around, someone taps my shoulders. I was a bit startled that I quickly move and grab the hand of that guy whom just grabbed my shoulders.

"Ow- ow! Ow! S-stop hey! Stop breaking my hands! Ow, why are you trying to break my whole arm now?!" a familiar voice resounded behind my back.

I quickly retracted back my hands and saw Ja.n.u.s holding his poor arm after nearly breaking it.

"F*ck, are you insane? I just greeted you and you decided to break my arm? Why not just beat me up then!" Ja.n.u.s almost cried as his arm nearly sprained.

"Darn Ja.n.u.s, why you suddenly did that, I nearly crippled your arm!" I grinned at hi. and hold his arm and grips it again to stop the pain and to avoid further damage.

"Urk!" Ja.n.u.s did not expect that he will feel pain again. Good thing for him it was just a momentarily paid. as he suddenly have a shock expression on his face.

"Huh? What happened just now? My arm was clearly injured but it no longer hurts. Did you do some sort of magical healing powers?"

"Uh... no?" Huh? Healing powers? Magic might be true but healing powers? I don't remember seeing someone have those skills being learned in the real world.

"Did you gain the insight of a beautiful G.o.ddess? Did you meet her in your dreams? Is she some sort of busty beauty!?" Ja.n.u.s was sweating but he is also blus.h.i.+ng like some sort of pervert. People started looking in our direction and I felt like I should have not relocated the bone that I just dislocated from him and just let him suffer.

Ja.n.u.s tags along with me on the mall. Although he stopped his delusional fantasies, he keeps on babbling some sort of things I don't really understand and although I can still tolerate it, it started to get annoying. I now appreciate Riko's presence since he gets to be quarreling with Riko making him having no time to quarrel with me. I should have brought her with me.

We arrived on the the displays on the latest Hologram Phone. A saleslady approached us.

"h.e.l.lo sir, do you want to purchase a HoloPhone?" He saleslady smiled widely giving out her pretty aura. Ja.n.u.s was already drooling but I keep him on bay.

"Its my first time using one. Can you tell me its features?" I asked, not showing any signs of regard on her beauty.

"Ah, I see, well then..." She grabs a Hologram Phone or Holophone in short and activated it in front of me.

"Hologram Phone or Holophone as many call it is still the same smartphone that we used in the past. The only thing that made it unique from our old smart phones are its accessibility, its lightweight and convenient designs and some other features that cannot be seen from an ordinary smartphone."

"Holophones still can call or send text messages. You can access to the internet without connecting to the streets' networks since it has its own internet connection and anywhere you go, as long as it is civilized by man with the technology, you can connect to the internet!"

"Getting photos are also good too. You can take a few selfies and good quality shots using the Holophone. Also, games are very good in this phone too so you don't have to worry a single thing at all."

"What makes it a trend is that, it can track your progress in the game Alternate World properly if you are playing on that game. Also, Holophone is upgradable and not easily broken. Thy can't be stolen either since they only works for their owners. They only function on their owners. This is now the new anti theft system. Its also convenient as it can turn into a bracelet into a phone without problem," the sales lady smiled and put the Holophone in between her b.r.e.a.s.t.s. She is emphasizing me to pick it up.

"How much?" I pick up another Holophone from the display and ask for a price. The saleslady was disappointed and take out the holophone out on her cleavage.

"150,000 yen sir. No bargain available sir," She dejectedly said.

I was about to haggle but hearing that it can't be haggled, I decided to drop it.

I bought the Holophone and left the place, leaving the dejected and frowning face of that woman. Ja.n.u.s wants to keep on staring at her but he can't keep on staring on unhealthy thins so I decided to drag him along to the food court and bought some takoyaki. Ja.n.u.s recovers and once again, happily receives my blessings after I paid for his food.

While eating a hot and tasty takoyaki, Ja.n.u.s spoke.

"Manato, are you playing Alternate World?" Ja.n.u.s asked as he gulped down the second takoyaki down.

"Sort of, why do you ask?" I asked him.

"I was planning to play after the patch. I managed to get a cabin yesterday. It was a gift from my father. after pa.s.sing a test. I just wanted to know if this game is quite good? I know you are some sort of game nut so I know you know a lot on this," he explained.

"Its a good game, you can try playing it. Riko is also playing too so you are not the only one from us, you can ask her to power level you up, maybe she will help you," I said to him.

"Nah, I am not a self reliant player, if I play a game, I put my hard work into good use. I don't want to rely on others to raise my level. Alright, I will play later. Can you tell me what is your ID so that I can send a friend request later?" Ja.n.u.s grinned.

"Tch, you don't have the right to know yet," I grinned before I stood up and left after finis.h.i.+ng all of my takoyaki. Time to go back home.

While on the road way back, I am trying to figure out the various functions of my new Holophone when I noticed that someone is following me. Based on my observation, there are three guys following, and they produce slight amount of killing intent. If they have not played Alternate World, then these people are real killers. They have killed someone or injured someone to the extent of crippling them.

They have been following me since I withdraw some money. There presence disappeared when Ja.n.u.s arrived but when I left Ja.n.u.s, they once again appeared.

"Vile cretins," I mumbled and quickly made a sprint. I am familiar in these streets so its impossible to get lost.
