Yun Bei Fen blinked his eyes. Huh? Huh?! What was happening here?! This … This couldn't be a love confession, could it?!

His gaze flitted from one side to the other. He didn't dare to look Mei Chao Bing in the eye. Just how had this happened? They had barely seen each other in the last few years. No, actually, they had barely seen each other since the day they met. Regardless of how much he admired Mei Chao Bing, he had never dared to get too close, after all. This person, wasn't he just like the moon in the night sky? It could dazzle anyone with its brilliance, making them raise their heads to look up at it. But regardless of how much you admired the moon, it wouldn't suddenly jump down from the sky and tell you that it admired you just as much!

There had to be something wrong! Maybe … Maybe senior martial brother Mei had hit his head very hard when they fell down? Maybe he couldn't remember who he was? Ah, but that couldn't be. He had used his name so he had to know who he was. Then what was the matter?

Mei Chao Bing watched the rapidly changing expressions of Yun Bei Fen and smiled. "I guessed that my confession might shock junior martial brother Yun but wouldn't have thought it'd be this bad."

Yun Bei Fen finally looked up, his gaze very much resembling a startled rabbit. He bit his lower lip and tiptoed, his breath brus.h.i.+ng Mei Chao Bing's face.

Mei Chao Bing's own breath hitched and his heart hammered in his chest. Was this … a yes? Did he want to kiss him back and accept him? He didn't doubt that Yun Bei Fen had feelings for him but he wasn't sure if his little bunny understood this kind of thing. After all, he had barely reached adulthood and spent the last few years in seclusion. How much would he know about love?

"Senior martial brother …"

"Mn?" Mei Chao Bing gulped. Whatever it was his little bunny would answer, he would accept it. If he said yes, then he would happily become his lover. If he said no … then he would continue to chase him until he changed his answer or asked him to stop.

"Does your head hurt a lot?"

"Ah?" Mei Chao Bing lifted his gaze from Yun Bei Fen's lips to his eyes.

"Your head. We fell down. So did you hurt your head?"

"No. Why … Why would you ask this now?" Mei Chao Bing's eyes widened. Don't tell him … his confession had been misunderstood to this degree?! "Fen'er, I was being serious. I really like you. So … Can you think about it? I do understand you may need time for this. You're young. You probably don't know much about love. Maybe you don't know how you feel about me yet. So please take your time. Think it through and find out what your heart tells you. Until you know … I'll wait for your answer." He squeezed Yun Bei Fen's hands and then turned away, surveying their surroundings. For now, he could only wait and use the days they would need to get to the border region to show Yun Bei Fen that he was a dependable man.

Mei Chao Bing winced at that thought. Alright, he felt bad about tricking the little bunny like this. Just thinking back on how worried he had looked … After they reached the border region, he definitely couldn't do something like this ever again. He couldn't say the truth now though. After all, his chances would certainly drop if he admitted to being a liar. Even if he felt bad about his behavior now, he couldn't let that happen. Mn, maybe when they had become a couple he could someday tell him how he had tried to trick him back then … Ah, it would certainly make for a nice story. By then, they would be able to laugh about this and regard it as a fond memory.

While Mei Chao Bing was engrossed in his thoughts, Yun Bei Fen looked at the broad back in front of him in a daze. These words … Did this mean … it was all true? He took a shaky breath and his fingers trembled along. His senior martial brother actually liked him! He really liked him. Ah, he should take a look tonight if the moon was really still hanging in the sky!

Mei Chao Bing turned around. "Fen'er, how about —"

The little bunny threw himself at him, burying his face at his chest and clasping his arms around his waist.

Mei Chao Bing raised his brows but still hugged him back without a word. He stroked his back and finally lowered his head until their cheeks touched. The leaves of the trees around them rustled and their hair fluttered in the wind.

Mei Chao Bing embraced the little person in his arms tightly and finally turned his head toward him. "Is this a yes?"

Yun Bei Fen hesitated and then nodded furiously, his fingers grabbing onto Mei Chao Bing's robe and tightening as much as they could. Ah, if this was a dream, then he didn't want to wake up. The person he had looked up to and liked for so long … actually liked him back. He closed his eyes and burrowed even deeper into Mei Chao Bing's embrace. He never wanted to let go again. This moment, if he could, he would make it stay forever.

Mei Chao Bing smiled and his fingers carefully brushed through Yun Bei Fen's hair, trying to soothe him. "You're trembling."

"Senior martial brother Mei …"

"Mn?"

"You'll stay with me, right? You won't just leave me as if this didn't happen?"

"Is there really a need to ask that? I was the one who confessed. Naturally, I'll stay with you. In fact, I'm resolved to hold onto you … for the rest of my life." He brushed Yun Bei Fen's hair back and kissed his cheek.

Yun Bei Fen smiled. "That's good then."

"Alright. Then let's go. We'll need a few days to reach the border region." Mei Chao Bing placed another kiss on Yun Bei Fen's head and pulled him along. Ah, the next few days would be pure bliss. He had to make good use of them.
