'Here today, gone tomorrow.'

Why does the good things has to end so soon?

Why does it never worked out for her?

'Or is it just me?' She pondered.

Is she not good enough?

'You fool.'

It's not that you're not good enough.

It's not that you keep losing things for no reason.

You're just ... too good ... in fact, too good that you keep letting them go.

You keep letting chances slipped off of your fingers.

Right. It was all her fault. Still a fool nonetheless.

She kept making bad decisions.

She have always since 'that day' ... kept silent.

It has become a habit.

'Was she afraid that her words will be the ones to hurt her the most? Or was she afraid of what she could hear back when she finally choose to speak her mind?'

How about her coming back then?

Was it also a terrible decision?

Is something worse bound to happen?

No. She can't be a coward all her life.

Whatever her reason for coming back is, it is definitely far better than staying in 'that' place.

She can't be miserable forever.

She will just keep moving forward.

She can do it all by herself.

She only has herself to trust and depend to anyway.

She only has ... herself ... or is it really?

...

She went back inside with a heavy heart.

But she immediately retreated her steps when she realized there was another presence around her house.

Laurice looked up and was shocked when she saw a familiar figure the moment she entered. She was not sure if she was just hallucinating. But it felt so real. The man looks so real. She found him standing right beside her kitchen counter.

She thought he had already left.

The instant the man spoke, it was as if a warm hand touched her weary heart.

"I made you tea." He said.

There was a sudden rush of emotions that engulfed her entire being. She felt fuzzy all over. She opened her mouth but no words came out.

'He looked at me.'

The look in his eyes seems to be a reflection of her own.

Tears begun looming at the side of her eyes. But she held them back. The man seemed to have noticed her distress and he did just what she was expecting.

He walked towards her.

'He came back.' She thought the man came back to her side.

And with a cup of green tea on his hands.

Laurice smiled.

It was a tender smile. A genuine one.

The man ease up a bit when he saw her smile.

Deep inside, he was still feeling nervous but that was all.

He did not intend to leave at all.

Not now. Not ever.

Now that he found her, he will not let her go.

Even if she pushed him away tomorrow and the day after that, he will keep knocking on her door. Until the day she will finally and willingly let him in.

Just for now, he knew he couldn't rushed things. No matter how much he wanted her. The woman still has a lot of issues, perhaps, some she needed to settle on her own, but he will fight her battles as well. He will not leave her by herself.

Sid smiled back.

Laurice seemed to have seen a ray of light on his smile.

"It's good for digestion." He said. Referring to the tea.

He then led her to the sofa.

...

Laurice was still lost for words when they sat down for tea. She thought about what she has to say. She thought hard.

"Hey" She muttered under her breath. Finally getting back her lost senses moments ago.

"What is it?" He asked. He didn't sound persistent. He sounded rather oblivious as if what she was going to tell him has nothing to do with her rejecting him awhile ago.

He waited patiently for her to answer.

"I don't hate it." She said.

" ... "

"Thanks for the tea."

The man seemed to have misheard her and was stunned by the sudden realization that the woman was actually telling him that she did not hate him being close to her at all. He wasn't expecting that though. He thought Laurice would just play innocent and unaffected by his advances and by his unplanned confession.

'Truly a blessing in disguise.'

He had just sent away his people so they could both have a private time together not to possibly sort things out between the two of them but for his own selfish desires. His only intention wasn't really to tell her how he feels about her, but to comfort her instead. It was a spur of the moment thing when he leaned on her and profess his feelings. He did not expect a favorable answer from her. Though he was indeed quite perturbed by her hesitation and the look of confusion on her face awhileback, he wasn't really trying to pressure her. He was willing to give her time. Time for her to sort her own feelings.

He could not believe she did not need that much time after all.

He wondered what could have possibly made her change her mind? 'She was about to reject him, didn't she?'

But she did not.

She was apparently giving him a chance.

A sense of relief flashed past his eyes.

His heart mellowed.

Suddenly, he was getting too pumped up he was having urges to actually tease her.

Sid's eyes glinted with mischievousness. With his lip slightly curled, he said rather smugly, "So you like it?"

Laurice gulped and choke on her tea.

She coughed profusely.

Her face was flushed! She dared not looked at him.

'Savage! This man is cunningly savage! How dare he ask such question?! Is he trying to trap me? He's blatantly teasing me! No, im not going to let him take all the fun.'

Laurice was in total rage.

How dare the guy mock her.

Is he trying to get even by making her confess?

Then she will confess, alright!

Hmp!

"Hmm." She purred.

"I like it very much." She spoke with a tinge of seduction in her tone emphasizing every single word. Her gaze was rather sensual as if tempting him.

Sid's adam's apple slighly twitched.

'Did he just gulped?' Laurice smirked inwardly.

But she wasn't done yet.

"Are you staying for the night?"

Sid: " ... "
