"Well?" My voice as a lot sterner than it needed to be. "You should be in your quarters resting. You are still injured." I chastised the girl way more than I should have. But then again. I remembered how difficult it was for my other self to get her away from her foster father. As well as her brother. Other me did a good job. As well as Riku and Kasumi. Those two were a little to good at kidnapping.

"I am sorry! But I wanted to make sure your uncle was ok." Rafa said getting up from the side of the bed.

"That is fine.. but next time come with some of my guards at least. This place is dangerous." My voice finally lost its edge. I looked at the window and pieces of dirt on her clothing. "Climbed in through the window huh? Dangerous."

"I know but, I wanted to pay you back somehow." Rafa seeing that I was no longer mad went back to tend to my uncle. "My brother has sent word. He demands I return at once. I dont know how he found me."

Moving my magic over her, I cleaned her up and checked on Barbaneth. His breathing was steady and strong. For added measure, I cast Mental Cleansing on him with a little rune magic for healing. His body twitched and his complexion became better.

Observe: Barbaneth Beoulve Knight Errant Level 21

Status: Exhausted, Slightly sick

"He is getting better," Rafa said stepping away. "He reminds me of an uncle I had. He took good care of us for a while. Then he died in the duke's castle."

"Most likely from caring to much. The Duke tends to kill people who get in the way of what he wants." I said leaning against the wall. A few regular squad members came in and started changing Barbaneth clothes after bathing him. "I can kill him if you want. You dont have to b.l.o.o.d.y your hands at all."

"Heh, it would serve the b.a.s.t.a.r.d right." Mileuda said moving around the room. She made it to the and window looked outside. I could feel my dark soul power inside her. It was calm. Didn't affect her in the least. I felt Agria eyes on me and turned to her. Again the desire to get closer to was growing. It ws stronger here in her world.

"You ok?" I asked pus.h.i.+ng off the wall and getting ready to step over to her. She flinched back. I hestated and stopped myself. Her reaction made me feel sick. "Did I do something to you? Why do you keep pulling away from me?"

"It is nothing, my Lord. Nothing to speak about right now." Agria said looking around. Either she didnt want to say anything in front of Rafa or she didnt want to talk about it. "We need to get ready." Her face was on Mileuda who took a step back from the window. Sharing a signal that I started picking up on after reading some of the combat doctrines they had employed for their training.

"Sigh, why does stuff happen every time I try to talk to you?" I questioned out loud as I moved towards the window. A ninja jumped through. I grabbed his neck and snapped it with ease. "I mean seriously, does my breath stink?" Another one jumped in but I pushed him out with raw magic.

"Ahhh," he yelled as he fell. He would die from the fall or the magic I use to destroy his body.

"He didnt do that famous scream. A pity. I think it is the Willhem something or another." Hearing the fighting in the hall, I left that for the other soldiers. Then my wolf started getting restless. I turned to look at my map and watched a small blip come into focus. It would then disappear as if straining to get a good read. Something strong was out there. "Keep him alive. I am going to.. play outside. Yeah, that's it play."

"I will come with," Tia said to me. I shook my head no.

"Stay here. You will get in the way. I am not feeling ok I won't pay attention where I am swinging. Might nick you by mistake." She wanted to protest. "It is better if you keep Barbaneth safe yes?" I walked to the door and heard her whisper.

"My job is only to keep you safe. Not him or anyone else." I watch Mileuda walked up to her. She waved for me to keep going. Rafa was close to Agria. She had a pole out to defend herself.

"Thunk," I closed the door and watched my squads killing the intruders. Mostly members from n.o.bility dressed up like cadets. A shame really. They were from a radical group that wanted to remain in power. Pus.h.i.+ng against the ideas of treating the commoners like people. The main group the Corpse Brigade fought against.

I walked forward and pa.s.sed my magic onto my squad healing them and buffing them. While I walked a crossbow bolt came at me. It landed right in my cheek.

Health -3

It itched at best. My body didnt regenerate and closed the wound. Guess the world was stopping that ability of mind. But my bones were still thick. My skin still tough. Picking up a sword on the ground and I threw it towards the archer.

"Schlik," the sword went right into his cheek and pinned him to the wall. He was still alive but in terrible pain.

I took this time to watch my squad fight. Making sure none of them died. It would be a waste for me to fight them all. No way would I pa.s.s on this chance for live training for my own squad. With this world giving less experience due to the level difference I rather not even more so. Glad the other me figured that out. I cant believe I forgot about that.

"Boss, what are you doing here?" I heard Alistair ask as he came out of a room with a few others. Alma was in his squad which I thought was funny. They still didnt get married from what I could tell. Other me support the joining of her to a squad. Moved her over to one Alistair was put in charge of under me.

"Eh, killing a bunch of people who dont deserve it." I said shrugging my shoulders. I continued to walk forward towards the archer I had pinned. Grabbing his head I bashed it against the wall. "Squelch," it made audible noise as it splattered. "Sigh my gloves." I got blood all over them. "Where is that person that is radiating that strength?"

"Why are you looking for them?" Alma asked me. She looked away from the body.

Waving my hands on my squad to heal them again, I turned to her. "Because it is better I fight that person than them." I gave her a look like she was nuts. "That person could do some damage to them I rather not have that happen."

"It might be one of Duke Larg's men," Alistair said to me. "He has been working with the would-be usurper Dycendarg."

"My brother can be saved. I am sure of it." Alma proclaimed.

Carn came up with his two Knights. He was promoted to another squad under my command. I made sure to give him the more dangerous ones that pushed his abilities. It made it easier to have his n.o.bility restored through the merits he achieved.

I gave him a nod and started walking down the hallway to the outer area. Bodies where everywhere as someone was carving through the troops like they were nothing. Good news some were alive still. Bad news he needed to be stop quickly. Something about the way he fought was unusual.

"Cure!" It was more Kindness Drops then anything. But I had spent some Jp to learn White Mage spells to help increase my a.r.s.enal. The funny thing it all fell under Rune Magic. Using the spell along with my control of water, I moved it around healing the members of the order. The a.s.sailant looked at me and grinned. He came charging at me with a jump off a body. That is when I noticed the weird change once he hit me.

Observe: User Killakill Job: a.s.sa.s.sin Level 12 Job 2: Dark Knight Level 4

Status: Now hostile to your forces.

'Galtea what is going on?' I asked as I deflected the next katana strike. With the sword, I picked up earlier. That is when I was reminded of Dual weapons. the dagger in his had was a Mage Masher. It scratched my cheek and I felt some magic drain.

Galtea: Hold on coming online. Thanks for letting me rest for a while. Stay immersed in your role.

"A stronger one. Nice. The Dark Sky will take you down easily." He said taunting me. What the heck was the Dark Sky.

'Uh-huh.' I said back as moved forward with a thrust of my left leg. My strength pushed him way off of me to the side. He looked at me shocked at my strength. I was already swinging my sword towards crippling him. "Who are you?" I asked taking the advice. "Are you one of the count's men?" I felt the strands come off the User. Happy that I believe in his word I guess.

"Heh!" He sneered at me. "I am just a hired hand in a group. Nothing more." He lied as he said it. Touching off the side of the wall I sent him to, he came back twice as fast. I dipped my sword low, and performed an upward swing at him.

"Schlick," it cut along his side of the leg to the bone. He was outcla.s.sed by a long shot. But he was stronger than the others from what I could tell of the troops that were all killed or injured in the room.

Galtea: AS long as you stay in your role, he won't know you are a User. He is a new User. A volatile one at that. He has been here at least a few months. I have found several ripples in different locations. Take him out and everything will be fine. You were the none aggressor so no worries.

"Well!? Answer me!" I demanded to see that he was still able to stand. "What magical creature are you?" Swinging my sword at his chest I caught the sight of another dagger getting drawn. "Fire!" I used the most basic spell with almost no power in it. A quick cast.

"Beew," almost no damage but that was the point. Couldn't be strong as a mage if he was the same as me. Wouldnt be right if I was both strong Physically and Magically considering my cla.s.s.

Killakill just looked at me and took out a potion. In a gulp I watched his burns disappear. "Whew, thats the good stuff." He looked up at me. "Not bad for a Beoulve. Azul Beoulve. Not bad for a changing world." I looked at him weirdly.

Stepping forward I cut his arm off while he was distracted. "Schlick," it fell off easily.

"Argh! Holy c.r.a.p your a monster." Killakill looked at me with hatred. He reached up and pressed at the air frustrated. Realizing nothing changed he started panicking. "Why cant I leave?! Dammit, I should not have beaten up my Operator so badly." He tossed a red orb at my face. "Die!"

"Fwoosh, boom." It exploded in my face doing relative damage. I stepped back one step. Barely as the smoke bothered me a little bit towards my nose. "Hachoo," I sneezed.

Health -24

"How do you like that. You are not a named boss. You are nothing." Killakill yelled at me. His face was priceless as I stepped back forward pus.h.i.+ng the smoke away with a flick of my sword. "I cant die here! This the started of my greatness. I will rule this world and others like it!'

"Ok.. so your just some wacko of the order then," I said pretending to ignore his ramblings. Bringing the sword to his chest, I held it at his heart. "What are Dycendarags and Duke Larg's plans? Answer me! Is Goltana involved as well?"

"Heh, this d.a.m.n old a.s.s game. I should have gone to Borderlands. That d.a.m.n Operator and his ideas." Killakill just looked at me defiantly. "You are just some construct nothing at all to a real man like me. Doesn't matter if I die here. I will come back better next time." He tried to stand up. Pinning him with my sword he stopped resisting. I felt the biotic strand. He was scared.

Galtea: You can permanently kill him. He will not be allowed back here. It is...

I didnt let Galtea finished as I stabbed through his heart. I heard enough and was still not very caring enough to forgive the unnecessary killing of my forces in the room. Considering what she said before and just now about new Users anyway it felt like I could do a little good by ridding the world of a nuisance.

"d.a.m.n that hurts.." Killakill said not really believing the stabbing. "Oh, man cant wait till I go to the next place. I will defintely pay attention next time." With a blink he was dead and I saw him turned into a crystal.

Galtea: You could have waited until I finished speaking. As I was saying he was a new User. He has done some terrible things. ... His operator is still alive! With your permission I can..

'Just do it!' I said to her. Reaching out I grabbed the crystal and placed it in my inventory, well tried to anyway. The rules of the world wouldn't allow me to.

System: You can take abilities or take the Inventory of the User.

I waited for a moment. TO hear from Galtea. I heard from Zelda instead. 'You killed that User. Didnt think you be able to do that for your own kind.'

'Ah, not my first time. Well, first time killing a User. But not the first time killing my own kind. Besides... I dont really see a difference in killing him or another enemy.' I was not joking. There was no difference at all really. 'He was not any of you. No one important to me. Just another enemy. I wish Galtea would hurry up.'

'Ok.. just relax a little.' Zelda said trying to calm me down as I moved in the room. 'You can still do some things.' She said trying to remind me.

"Ah, I remember now. Auxilary!" Using it to disguise the area right quick, I used my mental abilities on the bodies. Taking the psychic power from them that I learned from Slannesh before they turned to crystals. I havent used it in a very long time. Forgot it could disguise a small area from the world to let me use all my abilities with out creating a problem. Or an increase in difficulty.

Galtea: I got him out. I know you dont wish to transport him to our s.h.i.+p. So I will send him to Rifts Earth for recovery. You will most likely receive a good bit of rewards for this. This is the first Operator recovered from the New Users. Choose to take the inventory and we can have whatever he obtained. Abilities will give you whatever he has learned here and possibly his unique ability.

'Taking the inventory. The abilities dont interest me since I can get some from here by spending Jp. Also, my own unique ability already causes many problems. I cant deal with the strain already with the body anyway.' Selecting that option there was a lot of stuff in my inventory now. The most outrageous was a Zodiac stone as well doc.u.ments for Duke Goltana. I couldn't identify the stone.

I stood up and dropped the field. I use a few phoenix down on the only viable target. The rest to mutilated for it to work on them. A few minutes went by before the crystals formed. I picked up a few cadets and dropped them on the enemy crystals. Slowly the crystals disappeared into them.

System: Killakill was supposed to help Dycendarg take control of the order by killing Barbaneth. He has been killed and wiped from the System by your hands. Rewards calculating...

Cerebus Node: The Church of Glabdos, wish to usher in a new age of devilry. Stop them from achieving their goals.

"Aww c.r.a.p," I said thinking about it now. There was all that going on. This did all start with Alistair. Now their was also Mileuda and Agria as well. Checking my inventory I pulled out the doc.u.ments that would incriminate Dycendarg. Speading my magic I healed the people who could be saved. They didnt turn to crystals which was nice. Argath ran into the run with members of my original squad. "Arrest those over there. See to it. Quickly."

"Of course," Argath said giving me a salute. He and the rest got busy securing the enemy forces.

"Before I forget. Argath make sure no other party gets involved. This is your task. You understand?"

"Of course." Argath gave me a serious nod. "But do you think some would try to silence them?" I gave him a nod and he became a little worried. "I will make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible."

Carn came up with his squad. "Sir, the castle has been cleared. All that is left is the interrogation and finding who is behind this."

"I have the doc.u.ments. Found on the enemy." I showed him the papers and we walked towards Barbaneth's room. Arriving I found Alma and company as well as Ramza and his squad. Giving them a nod I stood to the side in the chamber saying nothing.

Ten minutes later Dycendarg, Zalbag and their retinue arrived. A few other n.o.bles came as well.

"What are you all doing in my father's room?" Dycendarg said stepping froward playing the role of the dutiful son. He tried to approach Barbaneth but stopped when Agria placed her maul out front. "What is this?"

"Just making sure he doesn't fall ill mysteriously again. Cant be to careful." Agria said to him. Her tone neutral but a dark look in her eye. "Back away."

"You base-born woman, you dare tell me what to do. You may be a accomplish White Mage but I doubt me approaching my father will cause his condition to worsen." Dycendarg tried to step forward but was backhanded with the mace.

"Whack," he was pushed back and grabbed his cheek. A bruise already forming on his face. Agria held back to much.

"This stupid wh.o.r.e dares to lay hands on a n.o.ble?!" One of the men said with disdain. I resisted the desire to rip his head off. I watched Ramza and a few look at the man with disgust.

"How dare you?!" Zalbag said stepping forward. He went to draw his blade but stopped when I release my desire to kill on him. One of the best thing as an Overlord. Here it was just dandy to use.

"Tink," a few gla.s.ses broke. "Thump," him and his party stumbled a little. A few of them falling over. Mostly the other n.o.bles that arrived.

"Uh uh uh." I said wagging my finger. "Surely you weren't thinking of doing something stupid just now? Were you dear cousin? It would be a shame for people to learn that a majority of Beoulve household died in the most recent attack." I gave them all a look. "Bad for morale and the capital."

"Knock, knock," a few taps at the door. "The Judge is here as requested." Argath voice said from outside.

"Come in," I said releasing my hold on the people.

"What is all this?" Zalbag questioned. Just gave him a smile.

In walked Argath, a Judge from the capitol, as well as Draco Leonhart. The judge looked around then walked up to the bed. Agria gave me a look then stepped away when I signaled her.

The judge cast a spell then placed a vial to Barbaneth's mouth. Slowly a yellow puss came out. The judge stepped away shaking his head. "Someone already started treating him, which is very good. He has been poisoned for a long time. To think this is the state you would be in old friend."

"Can he be cured?" Alma asked anxiously to the man.

"He is already in the final stages of recovery." He looked at me and gave a nod. "Good job on the treatment. I hope you can share how you did it." I gave him a smile and said nothing. "No for other matters." Turning to look at Dycendarg he sighed. "You have been accused of trying to kill your Lord Father and taking his position. How do you plead?"

"Innocent!" Zalbag said first.

Slightly shocked Deycendarg got his wits about him quickly. "I am innocent of course. I demand to know who has said such foul things about me." He looked at Draco and squinted. "Surely not some foolish squire word is not more important than my own?"

"That squire has a name you treachours disgrace of a snake!" Draco said angrily. "I am not the one trying to usurp my father's power base."

"You do well to remember yourself!" A few of the n.o.bles yelled at him. With all the yelling I watched as Draco began to shake. Not from fear, but anger.

"Enough!" The Judge said dropping his hilt against the floor. A very ancient magic pervading the room. "He is not the one accusing you."

"I am," I said stepping forward. "Here is even more proof." I showed the new doc.u.ments to the Judge that acquired recently. Draco reached behind his breastplate with more papers.

"These are what we took from a Corpse Brigade stronghold a few weeks ago. Doc.u.ments peaking about creating civil unrest to help keep the commoners down and keep the n.o.bles in power. It bears the Beoulve signet on it. Signed by Dycendarg's himself." I was shocked to learn that myself. Guess he didnt trust me fully.

"These are serious accusations you have," Barbaneth said sitting up. Rafa at his side helping him with a squire. "Huff." he coughed up some more of the residue. I pa.s.s my hand in his direction healing him a little more. His cheeks regained some more color. He gave me a nod. "As for those papers let me see them. The rest of you get out. This is a family affair now."

"Oh, how silly uncle," I said shaking my head. "This a matter of the realm. Surely you dont wish to dismiss the Judge and handled this ourselves?"

"Show some respect!" Zalbag yelled at me. I balled my fist and was getting ready to bash his head in with it. I had no idea who he thought he was but.. I was not gonna deal with his s.h.i.+t. Right as I got close to him I was grabbed by both Agria and Mileuda. "You do well to calm yourself cousin. Dont do anything you would regret."

My eyes narrow and wolf became agitated. "Are you threating me boy? I will kill you in front of the judge and not lose a bit of sleep." The room became tense. "Would you like to try that again little whelping?"

"Enough!" Barbaneth yelled at both of us. "We will handle this as we should. Is this not still my keep? Am I not still the ruler here!?"

System: Willpower 35 Pa.s.s

I resisted the pressure with a little bit of strain. My powers felt insulted at the ungrateful b.a.s.t.a.r.d. It took a bit to just calm myself. I reminded myself he spent a few years bedridden and might still be confused.

"Of course Lord father," Zalbag said. I just gave him a nod. I was starting to think things were not gonna go as well as I hoped. Everyone stepped out besides Zalbag, Dycendarg, Alma, Ramza, Myself, and the Judge.
