She's My Girl 38 Chapter The Confrontation

Steve entered followed by Carah.

"Oh here comes your Mama" Zander gave Carah a thunderous look.

"Mama! "Lexie's happiness was cut off when she saw her mother's angry face.

" You young lady had acted so bad today." Lexie was in tears when she was reprimanded for the first time.

"Mama...I'm sorry... Wah...."

"You are becoming headstrong lately , we will discuss this later go with your Grandfather. I have some thing to discuss with... " she was cut off by Zander as he release the child.

"Go sweetheart we will talk later"

"Promise?" Lexie asked unsure, she never saw her mother as angry as this, afraid that she won't allow them to see each other again.

"Promise." he said smiling.

When the door close behind Steve and Lexie. Zander explode

"How dare you Carah!!!"

"Well how dare me!... hah! You've got the guts to question me! How I dare!? Well let me tell you Alexander Chen I dare anything!" She equally exploded.

"You hid my child from me! for goodness sake. how could you be so heartless?!!

" Heartless! look who's talking?...." she was fuming with anger. They look like two warriors face to face on the battlefield.

"We would not be in this situation if you have the heart to listen to me seven years ago, But instead you throw me out if your house and out of your life! despite my begging, you didn't give me the chance to explain my side. You throw me out even though I'm confuse and suffering from morning sickness from bearing your child. for goodness sake!!!" she turn his words back to him.

"You could have told me on any of the times we met lately." he somehow tried to calm a little.

"Tell you? How? like 'Oh by the way Mr Chen, you may not remember me you've got amnesia I'm you're wife and we got a daughter' such a pity." she said sarcastically.

He was silent seems shocked to see this side of her.

"What's the matter getting beaten by your acting? Your deception has slapped you in the face? huh!"

"I sorry Carah, after you left it took me sometime to realize my mistake, I came looking for you, but your nowhere to be found." he said totally feeling sorry, but she was not sway instead she replied.

"And so you go to seek solace in the arms of another women, you're so pathetic!"

"That time that you...."

"Enough Zander!!! It doesn't matter anymore, have your lawyer to see me to discuss visitation rights. that I won't deny you, it's your right." then added. ".... and oh, if you have doubts you're free to have DNA testing. this discussion is such a waste of time." she turn to walk out.

Outside his employees were all lined up trying catch the drama unfolding on the other side of the door. They were astounded by the woman who has the guts to match word battle with their big boss. when Carah opened the door they one by one make themselves scarce fearing they will be in the receiving end in this woman acid tongue.

After she walk out of Zander's office. she found Lexie and Steve happily conversing in the cafeteria of the building. She approach them."Thanks for looking after Lexie I'm taking her home now."

"How did it go?" he asked.

"As expected intense, I wasn't able to hold my temper it exploded, it's been bottled-up in here for a long time." she makes gesture to her heart.

"Understandable. I see you let it loose now."

"Yeah, it feels so good at that time, but now I feel drained. But its time to move on. Go to him, he's devastated he needs you." Carah said.

"But Mama, Dada promise...."

"Not now, young lady you and I will finish this talked at home your granny is worried sick because of you. Come on, bid your grandpa goodbye." she said dismissively.

"Goodbye grandpa." she obediently comply.

"Goodbye Lexie, see you soon. Be good now." Steve advise the girl. She noded and smile hesitantly.

On their way home, Carah noticed a black car following them, she checked Lexie's seatbelt just in case .She tried to lose the car that was tailing them. after cutting some corners she manage to loose them. She reminded herself to be extra careful from now on.
