Skylar's heart began to race wildly, Reign inched closer and she could barely breath. She was frozen at the spot.

A sound came, and she came back to her senses when she realized that it was Reign's phone ringing. He leaned back and picked up his phone.

From his conversation she can tell that it was Karly on the line. He hung up and she looked down. She couldn't look at him from the embarra.s.sment she felt. Why hadn't she pushed him away when he inched closer.

Reign rubs the back of his head, "Karly said she will be here soon."

Skylar pretended to read the paper in her hand, "Oh okay, then we better start making a few notes."

"Skylar, I"

Skylar cut him off before he could finish his sentence, "We will compare findings and ideas later."

Reign didn't say anymore, and he started to write, she knew he also felt the awkward air between them. She started to jot down some notes and ideas. Every-time Reign asked her something she would answer it with a yes or no.

"That's it." Reign said.

He grabbed her chair and turned it towards him, Skylar felt surprised at the way the chair had abruptly jolted.

"What are doing?"

"I want to know what is going on between us, Skylar."

"Nothing and I thought we already established that."

"I just want to know why you always want to act as if nothing is happening between us."

"There is nothing, Reign."

"That's some bulls.h.i.+t! And you know it."

"As a matter of fact, I don't."

"Don't lie to me Skylar, you wanted to kiss me too. Be honest."

"I don't know what you are talking about."

"That again, you always deny what happens between us or make up excuses all the time."

"No I don't."

"Yes, you do. I can name a few."

"Name them."

"The first time we kissed, you were so h.e.l.l bent on denying it. To the point that you even acted as if you didn't remember it. Even more so, that it didn't happen."

"Why does it bother you so much? Who cares?"

"Because it feels as if it meant nothing to you."

"Is that all that you have? That kiss was a mistake, it was in the dark and I didn't know whom I was kissing."

Reign places his hand under her chin, "Let's do it again then."

He leans his, before he can place his lips on hers, they break apart when they hear the front door open.

Skylar jumps up and moves to sit across Reign. She also quickly grabs her notes and places them in front of her. Reign raises his eyebrows and Skylar can tell that he wants to laugh at her. She knew what he was thinking. It was written all over his face. Why hadn't she moved earlier? She must have enjoyed sitting in close proximity.

Karly emerged with a drink in her hand. Skylar took a deep breath and acted as if she was deep in thought. She was glad that Karly had bought her some time to switch seats as she was getting a drink in the fridge.

Karly took a seat beside Reign, she placed a kiss on his cheek, which Skylar acted as if she didn't see.

"Sorry I'm late babe, you know I had to go."

"Take out some pen and paper, so you can also start."

Karly peeked at Reign's work, "Wow when did you arrive? It seems as if you also didn't do much."

"I had to change, and I am still thinking."

"What about you new girl?"

"I will show you when I am done drafting it."

"What am I supposed to do then?" Karly whined.

Skylar handed her the a.s.signment sheet, "You can read it through and then make some notes, when we are done, we can compare them and see what works and what does not."

"Can't you just summarize it for me?"

"No, you will get a better understanding when you read it yourself."

After five minutes, "When is our break?"

"Skylar turned to Karly, "It's only been five minutes and you just got here."

"So what?" Karly countered.

"So, we will take a break after we have worked for a decent amount of time."

Karly picked up her pen and started to tap it on the table, which was grating at Skylar's nerves.

"How about we do this part at home, individually. We can compare tomorrow."

"I like that idea." Karly replied.

"Me too." said Reign.

Skylar packed up her books and notes,

"Should I drop you off?" Reign offered.

Skylar saw Karly scowling and she didn't want any more drama.

"No, it's okay. I can make it on my own."

Skylar made her way to the front, Reign opened the door for, and she got outside.

"I will see you tomorrow." Said Reign.

Skylar made a half-hearted wave and went home.
