{Malika, do you want to come for the selection of the members for the special unit?}

Madara contacted me around 5 in the morning. I woke up two hours before and was doing some training when he asked me through the telepathy.

{How will you select people?} I felt intrigued.

{You'll like it. Just come. It will start at 8 o'clock.} He cut off the communication.

'His tone of voice was a little bit playful... Did something good happen?'

It was around 7.45 when I came and was met by Madara at the gates of their district.

"Good morning! Madara, where will the selection take place?"

"Hn. Good morning. You seem to be excited."

"Hehe..." I scratched the back of my head. "Well, the unit will be a very strong force, so I hoped that the selection will have fights.."

"You guessed right. There will be a tournament of sorts." A bitter smile appeared on his face.

"You didn't want me to guess?" He turned away his head.

"No, not really." He answered with an indifferent tone, but his, a little bit gloomy aura, gave him away.

"Hehe, you know you can't fool me, I can sense your true emotions~"

"Well you are wrong this time."

"Oh come on Madarnii-san, don't be..." teasing him was so fun that I didn't even notice.. His shocked expression woke me up and I realised what I had just said... It was quite a while since my face turned into a tomato...

"I-I-I'm sorry! I just said something weird!" I tried to apologise to him. But it looked like I was the one who is the most fl.u.s.tered here.

Many years pa.s.sed since our first meeting and the four of us were getting closer. I didn't see them as some strangers and felt that they were a little more than just friends for me. I did think about it and realised that I see them as my family, well like elder brothers maybe. Technically they are older then me and, even though I have a lot of different knowledge, skills and intelligence, I still behave like a child sometimes.

"Lets go! The tournament will have to start soon. You can't be late as the organisator!"

I pa.s.sed by him, trying not to meet him in the eyes and heard a light chacle.

"So you see me that way?"

I looked at him with red face. "I said, I'm sorry! I said this by accident! I..."

"Well then, I'm glad that I do have a cute little sister." He smiled gently and even his, messy, raven-black hair that were covering half of his face couldn't cover his gentle eyes. He is so handsome... Having a handsome brother sounds cool.

"Lets go!" This time he invited me to continue. We walked in silence and finally reached the training grounds of the Uchiha clan. Around 400 s.h.i.+n.o.bi were present there. Boy and girls, men and women, everyone who had a status of a s.h.i.+n.o.bi and had the capability to fight, were present.

Izuna came up to his brother. "Nii-san, everyone are here. So what are we going to do?" He asked lazely. Looks like Madara didn't tell anyone.

"Go and join them." Madara's demeanor had changed completely. Now a mighty leader of the one of the greatest clans, stood in front of his subordinates.

"Everyone! Thank you for a.s.sembling here at such a short notice. I gathered you all here to conduct a tournament. All of you will fight each other and 50 of you will get chosen for a special mission. The elder s.h.i.+n.o.bi that weren't chosen, will have another important work to do."

Everyone present froze for a moment; however, the next moment the training ground erupted with questions, shouts of cheering and excitement. Madara lifted his hand and everything fell silent once again.

"The rules are simple. Izuna!" He turned towards his bewildered brother. "How many people are here?"

"450 people are here."

Izuna answered. He sure does adapt quickly. After the war, he was heavily wounded by Tobirama. He was a little arrogant because of his Dojutsu and that led to his injury. Seriously, if I didn't heal him, there was a possibility that he would die. However, bad things never come alone. From that time, he humbled quite a bit and became stronger, yet, because of the peaceful atmosphere of the village, lazier. After Madara and f.u.kushū, who had left the village, he was the strongest in his clan.

"Good." Madara nodded. "All of you will be divided into 25 groups with 18 people in each. All of you will battle in your group until 4 are left standing. Those 100 who will remain, will battle each other again after a short break. 50 of you will eventually lose and those 50 who won, will be selected for a special task. Those who fought really well and pa.s.sed the age of 20, will be chosen to become part of the Konohagakure police force. The Hokage had already informed other clans and some of them will also provide their members. "

He paused to take a short breath and studied the reactions of his people. Some of them looked thoughtful, as if already calculating their chances; some, especially teens were just excited and only a small portion was a little dissatisfied.

"Are there any questions?" He asked. The question was directed at those who were a little reluctant for some reason.

One person rose his hand. It was a middle aged man with a few wrinkles forming around his eyes.

"During the tournament, will there be any deaths? Why should only the strongest of us get chosen?"

"Why? Because the police will be responsible for protection of the whole village and they must be the strongest. Those 50 who will get chosen, will be also evaluated on their skills, tactics and mastery. Those are elite of our clan and will have a special role in the village. However, I can not make this information public." He answered one of the questions. He didn't answer the first one right away, because he saw that the second question was the one that was troubling people the most.

"As for deaths, Malika," he turned towards me and I saw that many didn't notice my presence up until now. "Could you please insure that none of the them will be killed?"

{Sorry, I called you just to watch the fights, but they will feel a lot more rea.s.sured if it is you who will be protecting them.}

I nodded. I can understand why and will help this village to the best of my abilities.

"Hi! As Madara, said, I'll be responsible for your lives. However, I will protect you from your deaths, not injuries. We need powerful and strong willed s.h.i.+n.o.bi, not cowards!"

All of them nodded. Madara all of them into groups, making sure that all of them were very well balanced. When everyone were already positioned an idea popped up in my head. In Govardhani's world, there were a lot of fictional novels and I really liked the chinese ones. Immortals, dragons, beasts... all of it had some similarities to my world and made me feel really nostalgic, since back then I didn't know if I'll be able to return.

I imagined a picture from one of the novels and concentrated a lot of magical power in my hand. The soil started to shake and slowly 23 huge, rectangular patches of earth were floating in the air. I made some adjustments and now they looked like battle arenas for the immortal cultivators.

{Malika! What are you doing?!} Madara remain calm on the outside, but was a little bit fl.u.s.tered by this whole situation.

{I made battle arenas! This training field is too small to bold 23 different battles at once and we don't want to waste our time on repairing the grounds and repeating their compet.i.tions.} I answered nonchalantly.

{Hah... I wasn't talking about that. I understood what were you doing, but couldn't you just materialise them? Look at the field, deep holes are seen everywhere!}

Since the training ground wasn't big enough so I took the soil from a little deeper regions...

{I wanted to make those stages appear in the grand manner. Well maybe I went a little overboard.} I smiled. {However! Don't worry! Look!} I snapped my fingers and the field returned to its original look.

{See? It's alright now!}

He just sighed heavily and turned to face his clansmen, who were almost touching the ground with their jaws.

{You are a very troublesome little sister.} He commented

{Haha. I know.} I was always told that by my elder sister and it's not like I can't understand what am I doing. I just want to have fun. Besides, I love shocking people.... It did bite me back though. I became the crown princess.

"Well, since the arenas are prepared, you will be fighting on them." Madara stated. "Everybody please go!" A gash of wind lifted them and carried onto the stages.

I took Madara's hand and made my wing appear. A small stage was formed in the air and had two chairs on it. I flew there and landed next to them. Madara didn't even flinch and just sat on the chair.

"Getting used to antics of your little sister?~"

"I was expecting something like this when you formed this small stage." He answered. His aura remained calm. I sat on the chair next to him and turned towards the stages in the air!

"Hey! Do your best!! I'll be watching so that none of you died so you can go on with your full might!" I will be cheering for all of you! I love those kind of events and in this world, Ninjutsu had already captivated me.

"We will now begin! Those who want to quite, can quite anytime they want. And now, without any further ado, Hajime!" Madara announced.
