As I wandered around the trail that leads through the plantations of pine trees with its dried cones and tinder strewn across the ground, crunching underfoot as I slowly traversed towards a clearing of young coconut trees.

It seems that these coconuts were planted by humans purposely for either consumption or act as a natural concoction of natural herbs or medication to cure fever, aid rehydration as well as for other medicinal uses. I threw the coconut away and continued my journey.

After some 15 minutes of walking through the coconut plantation using the trail that had surpa.s.sed many trampling of human feet, I reached a clearing with a wider path which would fit 4 people abreast.

Right across the path was a natural s.h.i.+mmering pond the size of several Olympic swimming pools put together; several water striders skimming peacefully near the edge of the pond and swarms of b.u.t.terflies flitting around the flowers that grow along the edge of the pond.

A few crickets were making its sounds while being invisible to the naked eye. There's a buzzing of dragonflies around the area darting around and chasing mosquitoes as it's one of their sustenances probably and breaking almost the serenity of the peaceful scene as wide as the eye can see. In the middle of the pound, a fish had suddenly jumped into the air and had snapped its jaws on an insect that had strayed within its target. With a splash upon entering back the surface, it created ripples across the pond.

Floating waterlilies adorned several parts of the pond while several cattails grew in abundance on several parts of the pond's edge.

A mist that had gathered in the night slowly lifted itself from the pond as the sun rises higher in the sky. Looking upwards, I saw the clouds slowly parting away by the wind and showed blue sky slowly emerged amidst.

Strangely enough, there wasn't a single soul around here for the past half hour; either by foot or animal-drawn carriages or mechanized trucks etcetera; otherwise which differentiates the inhabited to the habitat areas as well as the estimated era which I had transmigrated in.

Being lost except for the peculiar clothes that shroud me in the beginning and the lack of civilization nor the void of modern technology around makes me guess if I am from out of this world or from another unknown warp of time or dimension.

Sensing that I may be on another habitable part of the world and era where flora and fauna exist, there's no doubt there'd be a possibility of nearby settlement and civilization that I may stumble upon through trekking using the well-beaten path...

I trodded on heading towards the thin trail of smoke that rose in the horizon....
