I lifted the tablet in my hand and peered through the screen to determine my position as well as to hunt the next a.s.sa.s.sin. Luckily the s.a.d.i.s.tic b.a.s.t.a.r.d that designed the explosive contraption on the device had not made a remote detonation device. Or else he had long done so when the sick b.a.s.t.a.r.d discovered that I had the tracking GPS in my hands and able to locate my friends and foes at the same time.

I felt at a great loss at this moment as I was unable to locate my 3 friends; Hideko, Emiko and Genji, and stopped the Unfateful death that had befallen them. I leaned against a tree trunk and slumped down as the thoughts of my dear friends slowly fade away. A tear streamed down my face and I wiped it off with the back of the hand.

"I must quickly find the rest of my friends and gather them. But my first priority is to eliminate danger and that is to stop those two a.s.sa.s.sins. I hope I'm not too late in this rescue mission. I must move faster than ever and reach out to them as soon as I could."

I then picked himself up and walked towards a blip that I had pinched on the screen to decrease its size which roughly translates to expanding the map size and distance. By using the first visible blip on the screen, I made an almost beeline trot towards it.

The sight of the familiar elongated type of fruits hanging by a bunch that nearly reached the ground stopped my tracks. I quickly recognized these as bananas; not just normal bananas but Kerala Bananas! These bananas when ripe had black patches on them, very fragrant, very sweet and can be eaten raw and a bountiful source of Pota.s.sium, Magnesium and Vitamin C besides having other minuscule vitamins as well.

I ran up to it and withdrew my machete that was hanging at my side. I knew the bananas were more than adequate to feed 7 of us but I decided to chop off about 3 small bunches instead. I knew that eating a banana is a bad idea on an empty stomach; so I ate a muesli bar first then bananas for later. I stuffed the bananas in my satchel bag and proceeded to the nearest blip on the screen as soon as possible.

There was no unique a.s.sa.s.sin blip on the mini screen of the tablet. However, I realized it because the Director had made a small ninja emoticon blip that represents an a.s.sa.s.sin while a ponytail emoticon to represent a girl and a spiky-haired emoticon to represent a boy. The only thing missing was their name underneath that emoticon. How cute... It's like looking for Pokemon trainers in the forest.

First off, I head to the nearest emoticon that showed a boy. It was roughly about a few kilometres from where I was located. If I break into a trot, I would reach to him by 30mins so hasten the pace I shall.

The first person I met was Chikas.h.i.+. He was delighted to see me as though I was the last living person he had met and we hugged and he jumped for joy after seeing I brought him the bananas. I could shortly describe him as going bananas over bananas. Hehehe.

We ate and I rested for a while and he was clearly dishevelled from the way his outlook and I gave him my water bottle where he took a swig out of it. I asked about him and he told me that he had emptied it about a day before. I quickly took the empty bottle he had gotten rid off and kept it with me.

I told him we got to find the others and he compiled. He took a few bananas with him and he felt happy just being next to me. Luckily for him, the other 2 a.s.sa.s.sins didn't manage to find him as he was too low profile and played small importance in this novel.

Soon by locating the rest of the boys and girls using the tablet, we headed to the last one that was the furthest away on the miniscreen. It was somewhat near the edge of the island where I had come midway looking for the rest of them.

Halfway through we reached a coconut plantation and we all had our fill of coconut juice and the fleshy meat inside. By looking at the miniscreen of the tablet I managed to find that there were no other plantations that could be beneficial to us in tens of kilometres ahead. So we decided to hit camp when dusk was about to descend on the island.

With our newfound strength, we had gathered from the nouris.h.i.+ng coconuts, we gathered all the tinder, kindling small twigs and other woods to make the biggest bonfire that we could that could burn the whole forest literally. After the bonfire was lit, I told the rest of the group that this was a kind of trap that could lead the a.s.sa.s.sins to appear and avenge their fallen comrade.

The group looked at me in bewilderment and felt that they had fallen into my trap. I rea.s.sured them by saying that as long as I am alive, I will ensure that no one will be hurt in the process. I told them that I had personally taken care of one of the a.s.sa.s.sins and will be taking care of the other two and find Kagome afterwards.

Deep inside my heart, I hoped Kagome would be able to survive on her own using her instincts and survival skills that she had learned by watching YouTube channels and doc.u.mentary short films.

The coconuts that we had brought along had long gone and the husks were thrown into the fire; emitting lots of white smoke that would ward off mosquitoes and other insects. Also, it was to smokescreen the whole place making harder for the a.s.sa.s.sins as well as the cameras from realizing what we were scheming.

Soon darkness envelops the whole forest and the fire and smoke emitting from the bonfire kept us all awake. I informed them that whatever happens; they need to stick with one another. I taught them how to fas.h.i.+on a weapon by using their folding pocket knife as a pointed end.

Little did I knew 2 a.s.sa.s.sins were converging to our place. I took the steel guitar strings and cut it about 3 foot long with my machete. At the ends of the steel strings, I made a wooden handle that acts as a k.n.o.b in the hand.

I basically told them that this could be used to strangle someone. They all nodded in agreement about what I had said. Seems the ordeal of the abduction and the announcements made over the loudspeakers made them as meek as lambs.

As for myself, I fas.h.i.+oned 2 bamboo poles like the other day that I had made beforehand. Along with the sickle that I had detached the metal chain and the machete; I am sure that these crude and deadly weapons in the beholder would prove to be a match from what the a.s.sa.s.sins would be armed.

I looked at the tablet and found that the a.s.sa.s.sins were about a kilometre from us and instructed them to be alert. I specifically told them to act as though they were sleeping and once I had begun my move; they would then move in as well.

Night crept in and everything in the jungle was quiet except for the insects and the crackling of the bonfire that now had been reduced to be a small campfire.

The flames of the campfire threw shadows around us and found that one a.s.sa.s.sin was approaching our direction while another was stalling for time. The moment one of the a.s.sa.s.sin was in the striking distance...

TIME TO STRIKE!!!

I jumped out from the shadows with one of the poles in hand and threw it in his direction. Seeing the pole in my hand before I strike, the a.s.sa.s.sin read my movements and jumped aside. The pole that I threw missed him wide and he ran towards me while holding to his hilt of the blade on the side of his body.

Suddenly he twisted his body and unsheathed his side weapon and I quickly learned that it was like a wakizas.h.i.+ or kodachi type of bladed weapon. It was around 2 shaku in length but even though it was a short sword, it proved to be formidable in strength and durability.

He made a midsection swing with his sword, just like what a warrior of Wu-Tang would do and he stopped in his tracks. His prose was like the crouching tiger and I am his hidden dragon.

The blade managed to slice through my s.h.i.+rt across missing my bare skin by mere millimetres. If this was a katana of 3 shaku or longer, I would have been disembowelled.

I took out my 1-foot machete and he merely sneered through his mask. His eyes showed his sneer, I'm sure of it. I shouted the rest to stay back as I wanted to aggro him towards me only and not to the rest. I twirled the machete in my hand and watches for his next move.

We both were encircling one another. I kicked up some dust from underneath my feet towards him and he did take his eyes from me momentarily as he s.h.i.+elded the dust flung at him using his left arm.

I TOOK MY CHANCE!!! I jumped and rolled on the ground and closed my distance before him and strike at his left knee using the heavy blade of the machete.

I DREW FIRST BLOOD!!

In my half-crouch position, I spun and I strike again towards his left thigh. By this time he was already down on one knee and he used his momentum to make a last-ditch attempt to slice at me. By that time I was clearly out of danger's way.

Seeing him at a disadvantage, the group moved in. They threw the steel guitar string at both of the a.s.sa.s.sin's arm. The wooden ends of the steel-string quickly snared both arms and they pulled him back.

The blade he was holding was dangling helplessly in his hand as he was trying to regain balance as he was pulled back. I saw someone holding on to a bamboo pole and struck from behind the a.s.sa.s.sin's back as it pierced cleanly through his lungs and out to the front.

I immediately went for my kill and swung the machete with all my might at his neck and the next thing I know that the wound at his jugular was spraying red and warm blood all over the place.

Two down... One to go.

I calmed down and picked up the tablet. It seemed that the last a.s.sa.s.sin was still in the same location about 100 paces from me. I took the former's kodachi and ran straight to where the last a.s.sa.s.sin stood. When I reached the spot he wasn't anywhere to be seen but the blip on the miniscreen clearly shows I was standing directly on top of him.

I poked the ground with the kodachi and I looked upwards half expecting the a.s.sa.s.sin would be performing "death from above" manoeuvre. He was neither on top or below me. d.a.m.n!!! I fell into his trap and when I twirled around 180 degrees about, I heard a swis.h.i.+ng sound and suddenly a sharp pain suddenly erupted on my right shoulder.

It was a broadhead arrow that was normally used by a.s.sa.s.sin Creed and it HURTS LIKE f.u.c.k!!! I'd rather take a few bullet shots rather than from a single broadhead arrow. By looking at the shaft, I'd reckon it had already gone past half of its length and had managed to pa.s.s almost through the point of entry.

I grabbed about 1 grip length from the Fletching and broke the shaft. There's no way to extract the arrow out but by leaving the Fletching it makes movement harder. "Come out wherever you are!! Don't be such a p.u.s.s.y like your s.h.i.+t brain boss!! A coward like you would only hide in the shadows and behind tree trunks!! b.a.l.l.s licker!!" I screamed in both pain and I felt a sense of slight relief when I screamed those words.

The a.s.sa.s.sins came out from the shadows. By this time, my group of friends had already reached my location and upon seeing the a.s.sa.s.sin, they encircled him. Seeing the disadvantage of 7 against one, the a.s.sa.s.sins felt it was a do or die situation as he let a flurry of arrows fly towards the direction from underneath his right arm.

Indeed a masterpiece from a.s.sa.s.sin Creed with an autoloader mini crossbow!!

How I wish I had the 'load and save' function from some DS game or even a [Bullet Time] function but h.e.l.l NO... !! This was as real as it gets!!

I turned my body in the nick of time and the arrows. .h.i.t the tree trunk behind me. I am unable to use my right arm due to the broadhead arrow tip still embedded in my shoulder. I switched the kodachi on my weaker arm and staggered forward. The group of 6 swarmed around the a.s.sa.s.sin brandis.h.i.+ng their crude sickle while he was frantically fixing his autoloader and evading the attacks. In the event, he was unable to evade 2 strikes from the crude sickles and he screamed in anger.

I took out my machete and did the same wild swings at the a.s.sa.s.sin although my attempts were quite pitiful on my weaker arm.

The kodachi managed to land a few slashes on the intended target when suddenly the a.s.sa.s.sin took out 3 kunai from his vest and threw forward; one hitting Itaru on his thigh, one hitting Chiya on her foot while another nearly missed Ayumi totally. The kunai thrown was fortunately used on his weaker arm so the impact was only a slight poke.

I gave my last ounce of strength to land a big chop with the machete on his right collarbone and the heavy blade was lodged when it hit and broke a bone. The a.s.sa.s.sin let out a hideous cry and he turned and looked at me while he took out his dagger and lunged at me.

At the same time, Itaru scored a great point when he drove the kodachi into the back of the a.s.sa.s.sin. The blade made a perfect penetration that ended through his front stomach.

He staggered in front of me and grabbed my shoulders as he wanted the edge of the kodachi to penetrate me as well. He used his deadweight to fall on me and as I stumbled backwards, I raised my knees when I landed on my back.

My raised knees saved me from being stabbed by the blade of the kodachi that had penetrated the front of the a.s.sa.s.sin's body. If not I would not be able to continue the rest of this novel.

Itaru and the rest grabbed hold of the fallen a.s.sa.s.sin and rolled it over to my side. The kodachi missed me by a cat's whisker. Chikas.h.i.+ extended his arm and I took him while the rest supported me back on my feet.

I told them to knock me unconscious and then plunged the rest of the arrow's shaft through my shoulder till they can see the broadhead arrow from the back. I told them not to pull it out from the shaft as the broadhead arrow would do more harm and caused extensive damage to my tissues.

Someone then held me in a reverse chokehold and I slipped into unconsciousness. They did as per instructed while (a medical team off-screen helped to apply antiseptic and bandaged the wound up.) carefully plunged the shaft through and out my back.

The moment I opened up my eyes it was already daybreak and it was Day Four since the abduction I presume?

There were bountiful of fruits around me like I was being awakened in a tropical island in Hawaii. I was laid back in a beach reclining chair and a large umbrella was around me. My female friends were wearing skimpy bikini wear while the boys were wearing short shorts. They served me coconut with a small umbrella on it as I slowly sipped through with the twirly fanciful straws. They also had a pineapple that was hollowed out and refilled back with diced pineapple and served on a silvery type tray. I used a plastic c.o.c.ktail 2 p.r.o.nged fork to pick at the pineapple as I munched and chatted with my friends. There were roasted bananas wrapped in aluminium foil and I took one and lightly sprinkle it with powdered sugar.

Such was a bliss...
