Idiot In Love -103 Chapter 13: Li Wei

Never in a million years had that Li Wei thought she will meet Wu Chen in City T. To say that she was dumbfounded would be an understatement of how she felt at the moment.

A few weeks back when she was stationed in City L to do news coverage of for the annual fis.h.i.+ng compet.i.tion there, she was shocked to see Wu Chen in Wu Hotel. She always stayed in Wu Hotel whenever she had to work in City L but that was the first time she met Wu Chen in 8 years.

Li Wei thought that they would not meet so soon, but here they were; meeting each other in the most unexpected time and place.

Li Wei never planned to go to Lucky Star Restaurant. But fate played its card.

Last night, when she was browsing her Weibo, she saw that her favourite author, Master Unicorn, was asking about some good restaurant in City T. Master Unicorn had always been her favourite author since she read her online novel ent.i.tled 'Rest Well, My Love".

Master Unicorn had two other previous works before 'Rest Well, My Love" and Li Wei had read both of them. But Li Wei liked the third novel better than the previous two because the 'Rest Well, My Love' was a story of a handsome doctor and a teacher. What she liked the most about the novel was that she felt connected with the characters especially the male lead. The male character was really similar to someone she knew.

Since she was staying in City T, LI Wei gave some recommendations for a good restaurant for Master Unicorn.

Li Wei was doing overtime during the weekend to keep her mind busy because she felt quite distracted recently. When it was lunch hour, Li Wei checked her Weibo while waiting for her fellow colleagues to go out for lunch together. Then, she saw the picture uploaded by Master Unicorn. She quickly excused herself from her colleagues; telling them that she had some urgent things going on.

In reality, Li Wei was excited to go to Lucky Star Restaurant and to see the person behind the 'Master Unicorn' ident.i.ty. She was always curious about the person behind the famous Master Unicorn. A lot of people asked for a picture from the Master, but they never get one.

Sometimes, fans are debating about Master Unicorn's gender. But no one really knows about it. Master Unicorn never discloses private information to the fans.

Curiosity kept leading down to new paths. Since Li Wei saw the picture, she was determined to go and peek. That was why she was in the Lucky Star Restaurant in the first place. She kept on looking along the window seat; to match the picture and to find the exact location of Master Unicorn.

What Li Wei did not expect was, when she was walking through the window seat, she saw him; her ex-boyfriend, the one that got away.

A lot of things came to Li Wei's mind.

LI Wei really regretted what she did 8 years ago. Wu Chen did nothing except for treating her right. But due to her greed, she wanted more.

At that time, Wu Chen rarely talked about his family to her. She loved him but she loved money more. She was tired of struggling so hard to study just so that she could keep her scholars.h.i.+p.

When Wu Chen's roommate, Bai Jing Ting, showed high interest in her, she thought of finding someone richer for the first time. She kept interacting with Bai Jing Ting to keep his interest towards her. Somewhere along the way, she fell in love with Bai Jing Ting.

She never meant for Wu Chen to find out about her and Bai Jing Ting in the most savage way. She had planned on breaking up with him after dinner that day. But who knew, Wu Chen suddenly showed up in the dorm after she and Bai Jing Ting had just finished their discussion.

She told him about them that day. No, the right phrase should be; Wu Chen found out about her and Bai Jing Ting, therefore, she had to come clean to him.

Li Wei had always thought that she did not explain the whole story at that time; that she should explain it all to Wu Chen the next time she saw him. But she didn't. She never sees him again after that day.

The relations.h.i.+p between Li Wei and Bai Jing Ting went on for a few months until Bai Jing Ting called it off with her and they went their separate way.

Maybe because of the guilt in her heart, Li Wei never stopped thinking about Wu Chen. Until one day, she realized that the one she really loved was Wu Chen all along. She wanted him back so much that it hurts.

When Li Wei returned home after she finished her study, she saw Wu Chen on the news. He was everywhere; the magazine, the television, the radio and even in Weibo. At that time, she realized how stupid she was.

She wanted to contact Wu Chen but she did not have the courage to do so. She knew that she was the one who was wrong. Even though she was greedy, her pride was big. She will not beg Wu Chen to take her back because it will hurt her pride. It killed her but there was nothing she could do about it.

Her heart was hurting and her life was full of regret until one day, after reading an online novel of certain someone, she decided to let go and start anew. That certain someone was Master Unicorn. Since then, she had been a fan of Master Unicorn.

It took sometimes for Li Wei to muster her courage to greet Wu Chen. Her main reason for coming to Lucky Star Restaurant had long been forgotten.

"Chen..."

"I do not expect that I will see you here" Wu Chen showed a surprised look on his face after he saw Li Wei standing next to him.

Like last time, Li Wei looked for a trace of happiness in Wu Chen's eyes but she still did not find any. She was hoping that Wu Chen might feel a bit, just a little bit happy when he saw her, but he didn't.

Li Wei looked at the entire table. There were two women with him. Li Wei was wondering whether one of them was Wu Chen's girlfriend.

She felt as if someone clenched her heart at the thought of Wu Chen having a girlfriend. After so long, she thought that she had full control of her emotion; that she had started anew with her life. But she was wrong.

It was dark outside and the storm was brewing. Li Wei still remembers that painful day. She remembered it very well. That day, around 2 p.m, it was raining very heavily. Just like this moment.
