Idiot In Love -101 Chapter 15: Changed

On the way back, Wu Chen was still the one who was driving. Yi Fei was still riding shotgun and she continued with her antics during the trip to City L. NaNa was asleep in the back seat.

Unlike the trip earlier, for this trip back to City L, Wu Chen was surprisingly quiet. He did not give Yi Fei fierce side glance or heavy breathing even though she was singing and dancing to the song. This made Yi Fei feel very uneasy so she stopped singing along to the song. The pouring rain made Wu Chen appear gloomy and distant.

Yi Fei was not one who can keep still. So, she attempted to break the ice by making a small talk.

"Brother, are you alright? You've been suspiciously quiet after you go out from the restaurant" Yi Fei had a suspicion that the lady they have met in the restaurant must have something to do with Wu Chen's gloomy mood.

Wu Chen did not reply. He looked ahead and did not spare the shorty any glance. Indeed, he did not feel good after talking with Li Wei in the restaurant.

Previously, inside the Lucky Star Restaurant-

"I did not expect to see you here, Chen" Li Wei had no idea on how to start the conversation with Wu Chen. After all, she was shocked at how the event turned out like this.

"I did not expect to see you here too. What a small world" Wu Chen replied nonchalantly.

Both of them were quiet. Li Wei looked at Wu Chen; her eyes were on him the whole time but Wu Chen did not even look at her. His eyes were on the pair of ladies who were on their way crossing the road to get to the florist shop. His eyes were never on her even though she was sitting in front of her.

"Idiot" Wu Chen said in a small voice after he saw Yi Fei was almost walked into the street light.

Li Wei was startled when she heard Wu Chen. She saw his lips curled up so she observed the two ladies too. She was trying to find a hint whether one of them was Wu Chen's current girlfriend. She didn't find any.

Li Wei asked a few basic questions and Wu Chen answered all but his answers were brutally honest. It felt as if someone clenched her heart. She could not take it anymore.

"Will your girlfriend be alright? Shouldn't you go after her to the florist shop too?" Since she did not know which one was Wu Chen's girlfriend, she could only ask in general.

"She is not my girlfriend. The kids will be alright by themselves" Wu Chen could sense the curiosity in Li Wei's voice. Both of them were quiet for some time.

"I missed you, Chen. I regretted everything I did back then. Only after you were gone that I realized I was so in love with you that it hurts" Li Wei's cheek glistened with tears. All her pent-up emotion couldn't be suppressed anymore.

Wu Chen was alarmed when Li Wei started shedding tears. The people in the restaurant kept on looking at their table. He had imagined this situation after they broke up; that Li Wei would come to him, she would cry and said that she was wrong. After 8 long years, it finally came but he did not feel anything anymore.

It was true that after sometimes, he did not have any ill feeling towards Li Wei but it doesn't mean that he will forget what she did to him.

Looking at Li Wei, Wu Chen could tell that her relations.h.i.+p with Bai Jing Ting did not go well. But both Li Wei and Bai Jing Ting did fall in love with each other and it was Li Wei who left him. So, there was no reason why his name should come up between them anymore.

"We are never meant to be togeth…" Before Wu Chen could finish his sentence, the tears in Li Wei's eyes fell even faster.

"Chen, don't say that" Wu Chen did not know why Li Wei would be like this after all these times.

"Li Wei…" Wu Chen looked straight into Li Wei's eyes. He was determined to put a stop on this Pandora's Box of him.

"It's time to accept that we can never be together. Let's put an end to this. Let's leave each other alone with the memories we had" Li Wei was dumbfounded. During the time they were together, every time she cried, Wu Chen will soften his heart and coax her. She was too naive. After all this time, she thought that he will never change.

Li Wei tried to talk but her hiccuping hindered her from speaking. Wu Chen could guess more or less of what Li Wei was trying to do.

"Weather is so unpredictable…" Wu Chen looked at the outside and the rain had stopped.

"I heard it began snowing in the Sahara…" Li Wei gave a puzzled look when Wu Chen was suddenly talking about the Sahara. Suddenly, Wu Chen looked at Li Wei and he smiled.

"And I wanted to tell you that I've changed" Wu Chen gathered all his belonging, stood up, settled the bill and then cross the road to go to the florist shop. He did not look back. Because of this, he did not see the painful look on Li Wei's messy face.

In the present moment-

"Arrgh… big hole…big hole…"At the moment, Wu Chen was startled because shorty was suddenly shouting. He was so deep in thought that he did not notice a big puddle of water in front of them. The car jumped up.

"Ah G.o.ddess, sorry… sorry… Don't cry, don't cry…" Yi Fei caressed the dashboard and door of her G.o.ddess then gave a very fierce look to Wu Chen.

Wu Chen gave a helpless look towards shorty. He apologized a few times but the shorty was still upset. He admitted that it was his fault and he volunteered to pay for car maintenance fee but the shorty was still upset with him.

"Shorty, whose poem is this? This is very touching ar…" Wu Chen saw a poem on a small piece of laminated paper pasted on the dashboard of the G.o.ddess. He attempted to change the topic and he succeeded.

"And the weather was so d.a.m.n sick of being predictable; I heard it began snowing in the Sahara and I wanted to tell you that I've changed" Yi Fei recited the poem enthusiastically. It was rare for a man around her to have an interest in poetry.

"This poem was written by Lang Leav. I have all her books if you are interested. This sister here will lend it to you even though those books were my precious treasure" YI Fei dabbed her chest. Wu Chen smiled.

When Wu Chen entered the car this morning, his eyes were glued to the poem. He never met someone who would laminate a piece of a poem and pasted it on the dashboard of their car. Shorty must be the first one he met to do that. He did not know why he even uses the poem to clean things up with Li Wei.

All the trace of anger gradually diminished from shorty's face. She kept on telling Wu Chen about the other poems of Lang Leav. Wu Chen listened attentively. For the first time, he felt that talking with shorty was not that bad after all.
