Idiot In Love -57 Chapter 59: Bai Jing Ting And Li Wei

"I didn't expect to see you here too" Li Wei gave her order to the waiter.

"Outstation?" Bai Jing Ting offered the red wine to her but she declined.

"I need to wake up early tomorrow to do the press coverage for the annual fis.h.i.+ng compet.i.tion" Li Wei couldn't drink even if she wanted to.

She looked at the red wine and felt that it was such a pity that she couldn't drink right now; she felt as if she needed alcohol so bad to drown herself in sorrow.

"How are you?" Bai Jing Ting was not really curious. He knew that Li Wei was doing just fine but there's something about her that screamed 'sadness'. So he asked; just in case.

"I'm just a little sad. This must be karma. After all these years when I thought I am okay, I am actually not" The waiter brought her the coffee she ordered."I really try my best to wish that Chen and his pregnant girlfriend to be happy but I couldn't".

Bai Jing Ting stopped sipping his wine when Li Wei mentioned something about Wu Chen's girlfriend. His heart was beating fast. He had some ideas about the girlfriend Li Wei talked about.

He asked Li Wei to describe Wu Chen's girlfriend to him. Li Wei described the short girl with Wu Chen to Bai Jing Ting.

"Fei is not his girlfriend, don't worry" Even though he said not to worry towards Li Wei, it sounded as if he was talking to himself. He wanted to convince himself that Wu Chen and Yi Fei were not an item – at least not yet as far as he knows.

"She is a bright girl, she jokes a lot. This must be one of her jokes as well" Bai Jing Ting tried to make his heart feel better. When he saw that Li Wei was frowning, he knew that Li Wei did not believe him.

"It is very hard to be mad at her. Such a bundle of suns.h.i.+ne, how could you have the heart to stay mad at her? Wu Chen must be like that too"

From her understanding of Wu Chen, Li Wei rarely pranked Wu Chen or joke around with him because he did not like others to play jokes on him. Her heart ached a bit knowing how lenient Wu Chen towards the lady named Yi Fei.

Li Wei saw how Bai Jing Ting's eyes s.h.i.+ne when he mentioned Yi Fei."You love her too, right?"

Bai Jing Ting did not answer that question but from his silence, she found his answer.

She did not know what came to her, Li Wei gestured to Bai Jing Ting that she wanted a drink as well. Bai Jing Ting called the waiter for a wine gla.s.s.

The two didn't talk much about themselves; they kept on drinking as if there's no tomorrow. Bai Jing Ting could hold his alcohol well but Li Wei couldn't.

When they almost finish the first bottle of the red wine, Li Wei started rambling, reminiscing about their past. She talked mostly about the happy memories that the three of them had – until she started crying.

Sometimes, happy memories hurt the most.

Bai Jing Ting did not interrupt her but when she started crying, he knew that he should stop her from falling deeper into the abyss of her life. He saw the key card she put on the table so he knew that Li Wei was staying in Wu Hotel.

He sent her back to her room; Li Wei was still sobbing."If you are so sad about him, then do something about it. Reminiscing and crying won't change anything. You deserved to be happy. I am going to be happy. I am going to fight for the person I love"

After giving Li Wei his piece of mind, Bai Jing Ting went back to his own house.

After she was done with crying, Li Wei stared at the ceiling; her chest and stomach were hurting from crying too much. It was weird how her heart ached when something hurts her feeling. She took her phone and started pressing a string of number.

Li Wei stared at the number she remembered very well. Whenever she was drunk, she will do this. She has been doing this for a thousand times but she did not have the gut to do the last step – to press the call b.u.t.ton.

Maybe it was due to the alcohol she drank or maybe she was tired of being helpless – or maybe it was Bai Jing Ting's words that pushed her, this time she actually pressed the call b.u.t.ton.

The phone rang a few times but n.o.body picked up her call. Li Wei was about to give up when the phone connected.

"h.e.l.lo," A deep male voice could be heard.

"I miss you so much that I feel like dying" A bit slurred in her words, she finished everything she said in one go.

The person on the other line paused a bit before he spoke.

"Li Wei?" His voice contained a hint of uncertainty.

"It must be good to be you. You forget everything in an instant" Li Wei shouted.

"Li Wei, you are drunk. You should get sleep" Wu Chen had finished showering when his phone rang. It was a call from a number he didn't know but he did not expect that it would be Li Wei.

After some time, Li Wei did not speak so Wu Chen hung up the call.

Li Wei was dumbfounded. Her mind was in chaos and she couldn't think straight. Since Wu Chen did not hang up and even asked her to get some sleep after he learnt that she was drunk, Li Wei had some ray of hopes.

She convinced herself that Wu Chen still cared about her so she still had a chance to win him back.

That night, after feeding herself a false hope, Li Wei slept peacefully for the first time after a long time.
