That morning, Yi Fei was in the hair and makeup salon with John to do her hair and makeup. John was in City L because he needed to attend his relative's wedding. Yi Fei was going to pretend as his girlfriend so she needed to spend some efforts to do her part well.

The initially sad Yi Fei was no longer sad because of John. John instructed the beauty worker on how he wanted them to do Yi Fei's hair, manicure, pedicure and makeup. Since John had a good sense of style, Yi Fei trusted him a hundred per cent in making her look beautiful for the day.

While reading a fas.h.i.+on magazine, John saw a picture of Wu Chen on the bachelor section of the fas.h.i.+on magazine as one of the eligible bachelors with a good sense of style.

"He's so hot" John showed the picture of Wu Chen to Yi Fei.

"Oh" Upon seeing the picture, Yi Fei did not know what to say. She was still quite angry with Wu Chen.

"I heard he was in City L now. Since City L is not really that big, did you, by any chance, b.u.mp into him somewhere?" John was really curious about it.

"Well…" Before Yi Fei could answer, her phone rang. She froze for a second before she finally took out her phone from her handbag. She took out the phone slowly and looked at the id of the caller – it was Wu Chen.

Yi Fei was contemplating whether she should take the call or not. John kept on glancing at her, wondering who called Yi Fei to cause her to be in such a dilemma.

"You want me to take the call for you?" John used to deal with this kind of things for Yi Fei. During their university years, he did not know why but Yi Fei seemed to be a magnet for all kinds of strange people; John usually pretends to be her boyfriend to chase those people away.

Yi Fei nodded and hand over her phone to John. She did not really want to deal with Wu Chen now. She was confused. They were not even in a relations.h.i.+p but she already acted like a girlfriend to Wu Chen by getting angry when he ran to his ex-girlfriend – and Wu Chen was not really helping either.

He kept on acting like a boyfriend, trying hard to explain thing to her. Friends don't do that, do they?

"Hi, who is this? Why are you calling my honey?" John was very experienced in acting. He and Yi Fei were in Drama Club back in their university.

The person at the end of the line was quiet for a few seconds. "I want to talk to Yi Fei" Wu Chen did not care who the person was but he a.s.sumed that the guy must be the guy named John; the one mentioned by NaNa.

They had not even exchanged more than 10 words and Wu Chen already disliked the guy. Also, the guy called Yi Fei 'my honey'; that alone deserved his wrath.

"Honey, this Chen Chen guy wants to talk to you. Do you want to talk to him?" John purposely asked Yi Fei and did not put away the phone from his mouth just to infuriate the guy who called Yi Fei.

Wu Chen could not hear Yi Fei's reply but the John guy told him that Yi Fei did not want to talk to him. Wu Chen insisted but to no avail, he was declined. He tried asking about their whereabouts but the guy did not want to tell her.

John took the opportunity to hang up on the call when the hairdresser turned on the hairdryer. Wu Chen was dumbfounded when his phone was hung up by a certain guy whom he didn't know about. When he thought about it, he did not know much about Yi Fei. That thought made him upset.

When John returned the phone back to Yi Fei, a short while after that, she received a call from NaNa, asking her where she was. Yi Fei did not tell NaNa about her location because she feared that NaNa might be a spy for Wu Chen.

That afternoon, a quarter before 1 o'clock, Yi Fei and John were finally done in the salon. The wedding reception will start at 2 o'clock so Yi Fei and John had time to grab something light to eat before they went to the wedding reception in the main munic.i.p.al town hall.

John was wearing a black suit and he looked das.h.i.+ngly handsome. Yi Fei, on the other hand, was wearing a long modified line pink lace dress with a sweetheart neckline. The stylist in the salon put her hair in a messy lower bun with an elegant makeup.

The hairstyle accentuated Yi Fei slender neck and creamy fair shoulder. Yi Fei looked so beautiful at the moment causing John to be unable to stop taking her pictures. Even though Yi Fei felt quite uncomfortable for wearing such revealing clothes, she did not say anything about it because she was doing a favour for her friend.

"If I am straight, I am 200 per cent will marry you" John was using Yi Fei's phone to snap pictures. John asked Yi Fei to pose differently until both of them were exhausted.

After talking a lot of pictures and eating a bag of potato chips, Yi Fei and John went to the wedding reception of John's relative hand-in-hand.

Meanwhile, in a certain apartment complex, a certain someone couldn't stay still because he was worried to death about Yi Fei. By now, Jun Liu had stopped offering any advice because it won't work anyway.

After the call he had with the John guy this morning, Wu Chen called his secretary, Liu s.h.i.+, to do a background check on this John guy and his relations.h.i.+p with Yi Fei. Since Wu Chen only provide name, it took some time for Liu s.h.i.+ to investigate the guy named John.

Wu Chen had been pacing here and there. He couldn't eat well because he was worried until he knew about John and where they were going. Since NaNa did not want to tell him anything after he told her the reason Yi Fei did not want to talk to him or reply to his message, he was all alone in this.

He kept on sighing as he was thinking how easy it would be for a woman to form an alliance with each other without even discussing it themselves. Wu Chen knew that he was wrong for bailing out on their cheeseburger date but he did not expect that things would turn this way.

He was determined to apologize to Yi Fei and he will make up for his mistake. He only hoped that John guy was not a big threat to him.

It was around 5 o'clock in the evening when Liu s.h.i.+ finally arrived at Wu Chen's apartment with the file of John in his hand. He handed over the file to a very grumpy Wu Chen. Liu s.h.i.+ looked down and did not dare to meet with a very annoyed Wu Chen. Annoyed and Grumpy Wu Chen equals to h.e.l.l for him.

"Are you sure about this?" Wu Chen's face became less grumpy after he read the file.

"Yes, boss. They were best friends since their university day" Liu s.h.i.+ answered Wu Chen's question without lifting his head from the floor.

"About his s.e.xual orientation as well?" By now, Wu Chen had a relieved expression on his face.

"Yes, boss. I hired a private investigator to investigate his closest friend and they said that this John is not interested in a woman but man" This time, Liu s.h.i.+ lifted his face because he could no longer detect the annoyance in his boss's voice.

"Oh, and one more thing, apparently he was here to attend his relative's wedding. He and Yi Fei were very close, Yi Fei used to pretend to be his girlfriend to fool his relatives who could not accept him as he is" Sensing that h.e.l.l is quite far by now, Liu s.h.i.+ started pouring in every information he got from the private investigator which he did not include in the file.

"I believe now, they must be in a bar somewhere, drinking alcoholic drink because this John guy likes to drink" Liu s.h.i.+ was very proud of himself for being able to convey every little thing to Wu Chen but when he looked at his boss, his boss had a very aggrieved look on his face. Liu s.h.i.+ automatically looked down again. It seemed as if he was doomed to stay in h.e.l.l for today.

Wu Chen remembered what Yi Fei told him about drinking an alcoholic drink. She said that her mom did not allow her to drink an alcoholic drink if she was with a stranger; that she could only drink with her family member or relatives and her housemate.

Wu Chen was feeling down because of that. It seemed as if he was still an outsider and this John, her gay best friend, was more like a family compared to him. He took out his phone and dialled NaNa's number.

"Where do they always drink if John came to City L?" This time, Wu Chen was very serious. If NaNa did not want to tell him, he swore that he will turn City L upside down just to find where Yi Fei was.

As if sensing that Wu Chen did not have any time to spare, NaNa told him begrudgingly about the club where John and Yi Fei went to drink last year.

Wu Chen hung up on her without saying 'thank you' or 'goodbye' but NaNa was used to it. Her cousin brother might always spoil her but when he was very serious or annoyed, she knew better not to mess with the devil.

Since Wu Chen volunteered to go and look for Yi Fei, NaNa thought that it would be a good thing too since she won't have to go through h.e.l.l once again just to bring the troublesome duo back.
