Idiot In Love -25 Chapter 90: Too Close

Inside the black Lexus, both Jun Liu and NaNa were quiet. NaNa wanted to make small talk, but when she saw the man beside her had a grumpy look, she decided not to.

Jun Liu was driving without sparing any glance at the beautiful lady beside him. Sunday was supposed to be his day of rest, but he received a message, or more like an instruction, from Wu Chen to go pick up his cousin from the airport.

The message went something like this:

"Pick up NaNa from the airport at 1 P.M. I have an urgent thing to do."

It did not leave him any room for argument. So, no matter how unwilling he was, he needed to go. Since he was staying at Wu Chen's place at the time being, he could at least help him that much. Jun Liu made a mental reminder to hasten the preparation of his place to stay in City L.

NaNa was not used to silence. She was a talkative girl ever since she could remember. Being in a closed s.p.a.ce with someone she was not close to made her suffocated. She mustered her courage to speak. She couldn't sit still anymore.

"Ah Jun, how are you?" NaNa started her conversation politely.

Jun Liu gave her a quick glance, but he said nothing. He saw her disappointed look when she opened the car's door and saw him instead of Wu Chen and that kind of, surprisingly, made him feel a little bit unhappy inside.

He was a proud man. Even though he did not like the company of a woman, he still feels pleased when women were fawning over him. It made him feel superior. Never did a woman display a disappointed look when they saw him. The apparent disappointment on NaNa's face when she saw him hurting his pride.

Even though Jun Liu did not say anything to her, but since he gave her a quick glance, NaNa took it as a green light to continue talking.

"Ah Jun, did something happened when I'm not around?" NaNa was trying to tone down her gossiping tone by asking a not-so-obvious question. "Like, you know. If anything happens to my brother? Or to Yi Fei? It's not that I want to gossip or what, I'm just asking."

Jun Liu jeered at NaNa in his heart. She said that she's not trying to gossip or what but she was trying to do that. Jun Liu wanted to ignore her but seeing how eager she was to gossip, Jun Liu thought that it might be fun to feed her off with a little bit of news as his revenge towards Wu Chen for making him a chauffeur during his off day.

"What do you want to know?" Jun Liu finally said his first sentence. The sight he saw when NaNa beamed up after his reply made him acknowledge something unconsciously – that Chong NaNa, indeed, a beautiful lady.

NaNa was shocked that Jun Liu had a decent reply to her question. She clasped her fingers and stared directly towards Jun Liu. "About my brother's daily routine. Did he go out of the house often?"

The answer from Jun Liu was short and straightforward. Since NaNa wanted to know more, she would ask a few more questions, but the responses from Jun Liu were quick and direct; it made her wanted to crave for more.

Both of them were having endless conversations until they reached the apartment complex where NaNa lived. Feeling that she and Jun Liu was a friend now, NaNa excitedly told him how she and Yi Fei were living together, and they were always doing some fun things together.

Even though NaNa talked about 'fun things' animatedly with him, he couldn't help but thought that the 'fun things' she mentioned would be very different of the 'fun thing' he had in mind. Jun Liu tried to guess what the 'fun things' would be until he heard NaNa let out a loud gasp beside her.

He was curious, so he looked at NaNa, but NaNa was looking in a particular direction. Jun Liu followed her gaze and saw that she was looking at a red car; a disfigured car.

Jun Liu parked the black Lexus beside the red car and NaNa came out of the car to inspect the red car. She looked so broken-hearted. "Your car?" Jun Liu asked.

NaNa shook her head slowly."This is Yi Fei's car" NaNa touched the white paint that splashed on the car. "Who did this to you, G.o.ddess?" Then she stroked the car while displaying a sombre expression."Yi Fei must be sad. That's why she didn't pick me up from the airport."

NaNa went up to her house with Jun Liu towing her luggage behind her. She forgot all about her bags and went up to her home, leaving Jun Liu to haul the bags himself.

NaNa took out a bunch of keys from her bag; Jun Liu was right behind her. They were a lot of keys with NaNa, so Jun Liu wondered if she knew the correct key for the door. To his dismay, she didn't know. She tried on two keys and even rattled the doork.n.o.b for no reason.

NaNa was trying the third key when suddenly she heard a voice from inside the house. It was a voice of a lady saying "Ow! It hurts!"

Suddenly, she had an epiphany.

NaNa stopped rattling on the doork.n.o.b, turned around, grabbed Jun Liu's hand and tried to pull him away from the door.

"What are you trying to…" Jun Liu wanted to know why NaNa was pulling him from that place but before he could finish his question, NaNa covered his lips with her left hand. She then dragged him away from the door, but after just six steps, Jun Liu pulled her back to himself, causing NaNa to stop walking.

Jun Liu let go of the luggage and tried to swat and tug NaNa's hands that covered his mouth. This lady kept on touching him, he was annoyed.

But NaNa was adamant. Even though Jun Liu swatted her hand, she kept on using her other hand to cover his mouth. Jun Liu slapped her hand – again. Then, NaNa would cover his mouth with her other hand –again. It was a comical scene as it was happening again and again in a circle for a few minutes.

After some time, NaNa could feel that her hands were having a stinging sensation and saw that both of her hands were red. She wanted to cover his mouth, but she knew that Jun Liu would swat it again anyway so she took a drastic step.

NaNa stepped closer to Jun Liu until their face was only a span away. The turn of event dumbfounded Jun Liu. The distance rendered him helpless. He was not used to having a woman close to him and now, NaNa, and he was close – too close for his liking.

In slow motion, he saw that NaNa's face was approaching him more. NaNa was quite tall, the position they were in now was ideal for him to kiss her forehead. Wait? Kiss? What kiss?

Jun Liu was surprised by his thought. Why would he think of kissing forehead at the moment? By right, he should be mad towards NaNa. That spoilt lady had been invading his privacy far too many times already. He wanted to reprimand her, but she suddenly leaned on his left ear and spoke.

"We should retreat for now and come back later. I don't think Yi Fei is sad anymore. I think they are doing couple stuff inside. Some PG rated activity… In the living room…maybe on the sofa…" NaNa reddened when she tried to explain things to Jun Liu. She was so embarra.s.sed to talk about this kind of thing with a guy.

Jun Liu's face flushed red too but for a different reason. When NaNa spoke to him, he could feel her breath tickling his face. They were close; too close.

Both of them were not able to retreat safely from there because when they were busy feeling embarra.s.sed over some things, they were busted.

"Argh…I don't see anything. I don't see anything. Chen Chen, you also don't see anything. We don't see anything".
