Vivian and her family moved to a new place. It was small but comfortable for three. Home, their own home. She got admission into the local school. The neighbourhood was also nice. There, she became friends with few children of her age. They were her neighbors. A pair of brother and sister siblings lived next door. The trio became inseperable since then.

Nina was three years older than Vivian , Luke was of same age as her.

They were in same school too. They used to do everything together along with their new buddy from school, Danny.

Danny, Luke, Vivian were cla.s.smates. Group of four were friends. They used to play, eat and even sometimes sleep together. Vivian was never close to anyone than these three people. Especially boys. Except Luke and Danny she never spoke to a boy willingly. She loathed them. She never knew the reason behind this behavior. She had good genes, she was a beauty. A cold and aloof girl. Apart from that she was a genius. Whole school knew about this girl who beated her seniors in mathematics. She was good in sports too. All the girls were envious of her. Even whenever any boy tried to have a conversation with her, she literally used to beat him up.

The only exception were the two boys, Danny and Luke. Luke was a handsome boy. Even as a child, many girls were crazy for his charms. He never paid any attention to any girls other than his sister and of course Vivian.

Years pa.s.sed away peacefully. Luke loved to pester Vivian by any means. He used to tease her a lot. Both were like rivals most of the time. They behaved different only in front of their parents. Vivian's parents adored the siblings. Her father treated both of them as family, specialy Luke as his own son. All of them had a good bond.

Whenever they used to play, Luke purposely used to stand against Vivian. To p.i.s.s her off, he would love to anything. Pulling her hair, fighting with her, calling her ugly, stupid. Vivian was not naïve. She too reciprocated same as him. All of the others were used to this fighting. Luke liked to see the annoyed expression on her face.

Nina became her best friend. Although she was older than Vivian, she favored vivian instead of her own brother. Vivian never had any siblings so she was like a elder sister figure for her. Their parents too liked Vivian.

Danny could be considered rather naïve. He wasn't stupid but people tend to fool him. He was just a simple boy, unaware of cruel world. Vivian tried her best to protect this boy from bad students, still no avail. She was so helpless for Danny. Danny was a good boy. He used to help Vivian whenever she needed. Vivian also used to help him with his homework.

One day, while fighting with Luke over a snack, something weird happened. Luke literally held her hand and ate the snack which she held in her hand. That was so awkward and close for her. She suddenly became restless. Her heart pounded vigorously. Her face flushed, hands shaking and was unable to speak a word. What the heck?? She thought. What is happening to me?

In the next few days her behavior remained unchanged. Whenever Luke was around her, her heart used to race like crazy. She even thought that she has a disease. She started avoiding him. But she couldn't because he lived next door and he was her cla.s.smate too! The heck. The conditions stayed constant.

One day she heard her cla.s.smates talking about love. They were referring to heart beating, being nervous, acting like a crazy person in front of their love interest, and something like that. Vivian was confused, was she in love with Luke?

She was fourteen, when she realized that she has feelings for her childhood friend Luke. Luke was like a person who she wanted to claim. He was her exclusive property. Even though they fought, Luke was the first person who would make it up between them. Sure he loved to pester Vivian but whenever someone else tried to trouble her he was the one who would stand up for her. Like teasing her could be done by him and him only. Vivian never tried to confess her feelings in fear of getting rejected and loosing a genuine friend.
