The latter nodded "Yeah, he said that I'm one of them, I also took his memories" He said
Lilis shrugged "Well, that's not really surprising, I thought myself that you would may be a Death Hunter since the beginning" She said "Death Hunters are said to be very rare among the Life Hunters. The nuance between 'death' and 'life' is not that hard to understand. We don't know much about Death Hunters, but it's written in the records that they were capable to control Death itself and that their life hunt was impartial and dominating" She explained
"I see, that's more or less what the Seed knew. But what annoys is not those characteristics" Arima said
Lilis nodded "Yeah, the most important thing about Death Hunters was their so-called destiny. DHt's had apparently a mission to accomplish since the moment they were born, that mission was supposed to be given by the ancestors of the latter. And each time, a Death Hunter always accomplished his mission, no matter if it was destroying a planet or killing a Heaven G.o.d, they always succeeded. Some of them even tried to escape that destiny but when they did, it's said that the world itself would turn against them, forcing them to accomplish their duty" Lilis told what she knew
Lanya and Night (cub) were listening attentively. The former wasn't stupid so she of course understood that Arima was one of those so-called Death Hunters and that Lilis was surely a kind of G.o.ddess, even stronger than the ent.i.ty who gave her an inheritance.
"So, what's the advantage of knowing this?" Night asked
Arima sighed "Who knows? If I ever feel that something is pus.h.i.+ng me towards a predetermined goal, then I won't fight it. If it's killing a H-G.o.d, I already had plans to do it, I don't think there's a lot of things more difficult than that" He said and paused. He smiled "But maybe it's just my ignorance" He added
Lilis smiled and Night sighed "Anyway, according to that story, I am supposed to succeed no matter what I do. So, it's not a big deal" Arima commented
"True, but there's also cases where the Death Hunter died while accomplis.h.i.+ng his mission. And there's also another reason why they were called with the word 'death'. Some of them couldn't accomplish their goal after thousands of years and they started to look for ways to die" Lilis suddenly said and Arima stared at her
"That wasn't necessary" He uttered and Lilis started laughing.
At that moment, Karia groaned and moved, she silently sat on the couch and looked around. She saw Arima's group eating at the table nonchalantly.
Arima turned to look at her "Oh, you're awake? How do you feel?" He asked with a smile
Karia looked at her hand and produced a bit of Light magic, the result was a simple glow but it really shook her. She then closed her eyes and inspected her mana and aura. She then stood up and went in front of Arima and bowed "Thank you" She said in a composed voice, even more than before. Maybe that's how the elven Priestess is supposed to be without the Seed corrupting her.
Arima nodded "Sure, it's not a problem" He smiled and said "It's actually quite lucky that the Seed tried to invade you. Your soul is too pure and the Seed had a hard time corrupting it" He added
Karia revealed a faint smile "If it really allowed me to protect people by keeping it in me, there's absolutely no loss" She said
Arima chuckled "Elves are really fascinating"
Karia tilted her head "What do you mean?" She asked perplexed
Arima smiled and looked at her in the eyes. Karia trembled when she saw those silver eyes, looking at her. She remarked the depth in that look, and the more she observed, the better she could see the snow star in his pupils. That made her feel like she wasn't being stared at by a human but by an omniscient person.
"You're fascinating in one particular way. You have what human lack the most" Arima spoke "Respect, humility, self-control and kindness. These four characteristics, you possess them every day, that's fascinating. Admirable, I would even say" Arima praised
Karia smiled at those words "Thank you for that praise. But you're saying that humans lack it the most, you too?"
Arima started laughing "No, of course not. I possess them. If you expected me to say that I lack them, you were mistaken. Saying that you're the same as others although you're not is just unwanted humility. You're degrading yourself. I realized what humans lacked the most because I have it" He said
"True, you have those, but you can't say the same thing about other things" Lilis raised her voice
"Indeed, Arima is the last person that we can qualify as a perfect human" Night added. That was unfortunate that his appearance didn't look that convincing.
Lanya didn't say anything and just hummed a moment before nodding and acknowledging what the two others said.
Arima fell silent while Karia just chuckled "Where are you going after this?" She asked to help the former a bit.
Arima sighed "The demon continent I suppose. Let's say I owe a fight to Raal" He said while taking another lollipop.
Karia widened her eyes "You're really going to fight him?" She exclaimed
"That isn't a fight anymore though, you're at the earthen realm, it will be hard for him to even injure you" Lilis commented
"I know; I'll suppress my strength to the peak of the tenth level" Arima said casually and Lilis shrugged and didn't press further "Well, let's go" Arima stood up and said, his group followed his action.
Karia nodded "I understand. One more time, thank you. I don't know what would have happened if you weren't here" She said
"Sure, don't mind, it wasn't a big deal anyway. That Seed was troublesome, but it wasn't that strong" Arima said and waved his hand, Night jumped off Lanya's embrace, and four circles formed at the feet of the members of his group "Bye" Arima said and disappeared with the other three.
*****************************************
Arima's group reappeared in mid-air. Lanya reacted in time and deployed her wings. Lilis was surprised but she just started floating.
"Why did you bring us here?" Night jumped on Arima's shoulder and asked after looking below.
Arima looked at the ground "I wanted to see something" He said. They actually had teleported above the frontier. What Arima wanted to check was the creva.s.se he had made before. And as he expected, it was already closing and maybe it would disappear in around three days "Lilis, what king of being is this planet?" He asked the one who was supposed to know
"A natural Earthen G.o.d. This type of existence usually lives without any problems, they have their own ego, but they are extremely simple. Usually they're very kind and just care about their own integrity. Their most valued characteristic is their pure mana" Lilis explained briefly. She was used at this point
Arima pondered for moment "If he wanted, could he move?" He asked
"Move? In s.p.a.ce you mean?" Lilis was a bit surprised "Well, yes, he could move freely in s.p.a.ce, he's not really bound by any gravitational field coming from the main star" She said
Arima smiled "Good then" He closed his eyes and spread his spiritual force around him and condensed it in his hand. He stopped levitating and fell down from the sky. He landed gently on the ground and put his hand on the ground.
"[Vinculum perpetua] (Everlasting Bond)" He chanted and a powerful spiritual link was expelled from his hand. It penetrated the earth and started 'digging' underground at a fast pace.
"What are you doing?" Night, who was still on Arima's shoulder, asked.
"I'm trying to create a spiritual link between me and this big guy" Arima answered casually. Lanya and Lilis landed beside him.
"What's the point in doing that?" Lilis asked confused "Wait…Move, move…" She mumbled "Ah" She exclaimed and Night also revealed an enlightened expression.
"Mm?" Only Lanya was left not understanding what was going on.
"Exactly, if this guy can move, then it would save me time" Arima said
"Why would he listen to you?" Night was a bit doubting
"If he's that simple, then it's also easy to make him move" Arima answered "Quiet down a bit now" He said and entered in a telepathic connection. The spiritual link had been created.
The first thing Arima received was a pure thought of curiosity. There was no voice, just thought saying 'What do you want?'. Arima smiled and directly answered. They started conversing and stayed like that for ten minutes.
Then, Arima breathed out and stoop up. He rubbed a bit his temples at the same time "Keeping a link like that is tough" He said
"So?" Night asked
"He accepted. He told me he would move in the direction I told him" Arima smirked "The place where Errastas is right now. You should be able to feel it moving soon"
Lilis smiled "I see, how fast did he told you he will go?" She asked
"He said that he will arrive in three months if he goes there with a casual speed" Arima answered "I also told him to create a new 'sun' with magic"
"How does he do that? The sun is not something you can reproduce that easily" Lilis exclaimed
"He doesn't need to create a complete sun; he just needs to create a light capable of emitting UV's. I explained him the basic theory and he said he understood it" Arima explained.
"Oh, I see" Lilis nodded and felt a slight trembling coming from the ground and she noticed that the sun in the sky moved of his off his normal position by around a centimeter.
"He'll try to make it as natural as possible. The majority of people won't realize we're moving" Arima said and prepared to teleport one more time.
"In the end, how did you convinced him to do this?" Night waved his paw on Arima's shoulder and asked.
Arima looked at him by the corner of his eyes and smiled "I said it, right? If he's simple, then it's easy to make him move. I just said that to him: that the one who sent an asteroid here was at a certain place. And I added that if he could bring me to that place, I would be able to take revenge for him" He smirked and explained.
Night hummed for a second after he heard that "True, simple" He said with a blank expression and the two girls nodded.
"Well, that's it, let's go. I have a meeting" Arima said and he teleported the group away in a second.
