'I have to overcome the thing that is stopping me from getting strong'
Jason thought of it for a while and he only got one answer and that is his father, the thought of his father beating him scared him.
'I have to become powerful, I want power, I cannot be scared of everything, I need power'
Little Jason's hunger for power grew more and more, now he had only one thing in his mind and that is to get rid of the biggest fear he had and that is his father.
'I will get rid of you'
Jason said to himself.
As the rain stopped he got out of the trash container and walked around to find something to wipe off the water from his body, he was feeling cold for quite a while now, he sneaked into a house and stole some towels that were hung outside.
He returned back to the trash container, he used one of the towels to cover Derry and another to wipe his body.
He also fell asleep, the next morning he opened his eyes to see the closed top of trash container, he opened the top to be hit by the bright sunlight, he closed his eyes and slowly opened them, he looked around and saw no one is present around.
He looked at Derry and saw him rubbing his eyes.
'The sunlight must have woken him up as well'
Jason thought and fully opened the top of the container and got out, he carefully placed the 10 Gs coin inside the small pocket of his half pant, he was careful not to put the coin in the torn side of the pant.
He noticed Derry has opened his eyes and stood up while rubbing his eyes.
"Brother I am hungry"
Derry said.
"Come let's go and find some food"
Jason said and lifted Derry out of the container and took him deep into the alley.
After going around the alley for a while Jason brought Derry to the local market near the slum, he tightly holds Derry's hand and looked at him.
"No matter what happens don't leave my hand ok?"
"Ok"
Derry said with a smile.
Jason was careful not to go into any hotel, he knew this market and their merchants, they would just take away a poor kids money and chase them off without giving anything back so he had to look around to find some decent shopkeepers who are kind.
After looking around for a while Jason finally found a small shop, it was run by an old lady, she was making normal rice meal.
Jason didn't go directly and just stood there looking at the old lady, Derry beside him looked at the rice she is preparing and gulped down.
Luckily for them, the old lady suddenly noticed them and beckoned at them, Jason hesitated for a second and decided to go towards the old lady.
"Are you kids hungry?"
The old lady asked with a kind smile.
"YES"
Derry said with a big smile on his face.
"Hahahaha, look at you, what a cute little boy"
The old lady pinched Derry's cheek and looked at Jason.
"Take a seat there, I will get you two something to eat, and don't worry about money, where would you two little thing get that from anyway"
The old lady soon gave them a bowl of rice with some curry to eat, Jason and Derry quickly finished it.
"Hahaha both of your appet.i.tes are quite big"
The old lady said and took away the plate to the wash basin, suddenly two men entered the small hotel and kicked the table aside and pulled out two chairs and sat down.
The old lady quickly came out and looked at them with a worried expression.
"Hey, old lady when are you giving us the money you owe?"
One of them said as he looked around the shop, he stopped and looked at Jason and Derry for a second before looking back at the old lady.
"Just give me two more months I will give it to you, I promise"
The old lady begged.
"Look, old woman, our boss is kind when he gave you that money, he didn't even put an interest in it because he felt bad for you back then, but the returning date is over and it has been a month already"
Another one said with a sharp voice.
"I promise I will give it back in two months"
The old lady said.
"Look, this is the last time I will say this, in 15 days we want our money or you have to abandon your little store"
The man said and walked away with his partner.
The old lady sighed and looked at Jason and Derry.
"Don't worry kids, it's just something personal, you both look very dirty, go in and take a bath"
The old lady sent both of them inside.
"Old b.i.t.c.h come out"
Jason suddenly heard this voice, hearing it he s.h.i.+vered a little.
"Ok you two get in and take a bath I have a customer"
Saying so the old lady walked out, Jason peeped out to see if this person is really the one who he thinks it is.
And he is right, it is his father and he is drunk.
"Get me a plate of white rice and some delicious chicken"
Jason's father said and sat down on a chair.
"Mister, you seem to be very much happy these days, you are eating chicken daily, you must have hit a jackpot"
The old lady said with a smile and served the items he asked for.
"Of course, that useless son of mine was at least worth something"
Jason's father said and started to dig in the food.
The old lady frowned but didn't say anything, she knew what this man meant but it is none of her business to look into her customer's matter.
Jason didn't want to look at this man's face anymore, he went back with Derry and cleaned himself up.
As he finished bathing he saw that his father has just finished his food and is about to leave, as he left Jason looked at the old lady.
"Old granny can you look after Derry for a day, I need to do something"
Jason asked the old lady.
The old lady became surprised.
"I can do that but what do you have to do?"
"I cannot tell you but it's very important"
Jason said.
The old lady nodded, seeing her nod Jason sighed and looked at Derry who had put his head down and was tightly holding onto his sleeve.
"Big Brother don't leave"
"Derry, don't worry I will come back for you"
"I will also come with big brother"
"Derry, have I ever lied to you?"
Derry shook his head, saying no.
"Then, this one last time I have to go alone, ok?"
"Ok"
Derry nodded and walked towards the old lady and grabbed her and looked at Jason.
Jason sighed and walked away.
"Granny, big brother is going to come back right?"
"Yes my little angle he will definitely come back, he promised you right"
"Yes, big brother never broke his promise, he will come back"
Derry said with a smile.
"That's good then"
The old lady smiled.
