The Curious Play 51 Chess Piece!

"What happened?" 

Ye'er casually asked Ah'nuh, they stood in bridge in the side of the pool not far from the others. 

The imperial pool was connected to the man made water falls that built in the side where the water flows directly into the cone shape pool. they said it was too deep and no one ever knew where is the bottom of it.

"What do you mean?"

She absentmindedly run her fingers into Ah'nuh Gōngzhǔ's lips. 

"The one who made this to you is quite possessive!" 

She said while straring at her. Ah'nuhs face flushed in red, but Ye'ers hearts pounded. what if the one who made this to her was Tàizǐ.? 

She shook her head and looked in the other side but she was hoping against all odd that she had been mistaken and none of her speculation is correct.

"Are you jealous?" 

She heard her said that makes her turn in her side sharply, it was as if her heart was being pierced.

"Should I?" 

Ah'nuh snorts. "If you were in my shoes what are you going to do?"

"If I were in your shoes?" 

She asked raising her brows while giving her a discreet laughed, she notice that Ah'nuh did not answered her question but instead she countered her with another. 

"I will never choose a losing side. !" she said while looking back in the distance. "Given your status, you never had a chance to choose something for yourself, have you?"

Ah'nuh nodded. "All your life you been manipulated and sending you here is like digging your own grave!"

"But its my choice to come here. .

"Why here?" 

She asked her sharply, that makes Ah'nuh stared at her, uncertain.

"Fine.!" Ye'er said, giving up her insolence. She forgot that the one who stood next to her is an important figure. Fighting with her over something she wasn't sure is just a waste of time

"lets say, you came here for the alliance, do you think you'll be successful if someone behind your back is just waiting for the opportunity to disposed you!"

"I knew that. .

"If you were in my shoes, what would you do then?"

 She asked her grimly.

"I would fight for something that truly belongs to me!" Ah'nuh said with a determination in her voice while staring at her in confusion. 

She intake a sharp breath when she realized what was their conversation was all about.

"Im sorry if I caused a misunderstanding between you and Tàizǐ diànxià!" She chuckles.

"But he is not the man Im curious with, you don't have to worry about it, He is certainly a man of his words."

"I trusted him.!" She sigh. "but given the fact on your situation, its more likely that someone has to be sacrificed for the better outcome. .after all, we are all a chess piece in this game but I going to make sure, to play my part, well!"

"When you said you will choose a winning side. .you also meant to say, I should choose someone. .

"When you said  that you're going to fight for something that truly belongs to you. .aren't you meant for someone?" Ye'er asked imperiously and laughed sarcastically with out letting her finished her sentence. "There is only one in this world that I can called mine, and I don't have any intention of giving him up!"

"I admire your determination!" 

"And I admire your courage!" Ye'er said sincerely while smiling at her. "When I said I wont stand in a losing side. .It was a general point. If you choose to give up your status, you were only igniting a war!"

"I don't understand. .

"You were putting us all in danger, including yourself.!" Ye'er sigh. "As you said, Tàizǐ diànxià is a man of his words. Do you think he'll give me up over you?"

Ah'nuh stared at her, she was studying her expression.

However Ye'er was also uncertain if Tàizǐ will give up everything for her but she was holding on to his promised. 

This is all I can do to clear this girls mind! She thought.

"And what about Wu?"

"What about him?" Ah'nuh asked her surprisingly.

"Do you think he would just sit aside with out giving a d.a.m.ned?" She asked with sarcasm. "If he was the one who made that thing to you. .then he is clearly claiming you, as his woman?"

Ah'nuhs face blushed. "I don't understand what you're talking about?"

"Don't tell me you fell down and hit your lips in that particular area?" She chuckles.

"Men in our clan is dominant my dear princess! If one of his siblings saw you with that thing they will surely keep their distance away from you. !"

Ah'nuh gasped in shocked.

"Besides you surely knew that maidens were not suppose to dressed in this particular color unless you, yourself was declaring to everyone that you've been taken!"

She blurted out the fact with out allowing Ah'nuh to recover from her shocked.

When Ah'nuh heard Ye'er explanation, she clenched her hand and silently gritted her teeth and cursed Wu over and over in her mind.

She wonder why Tàizǐ diànxià was staring at her when she saw him before heading in this place. 

There was a smile in his face that she did not understand and the worst was that when he was about to come closer to her she back off, afraid that Wu would see them. 

Why would I feel such thing? she asked herself. She knew that wearing a vibrant colored dress means she was declining her availability to any man and admitting herself to that particular someone, but why?

"Stay away from any man.!" Ah'nuh heared Wu's warning in her head and her she is, absentmindedly obeying him in the process. 

"Indeed. .I was with Wu last night!" she blurted out that made Ye'er smiled. "But nothing happened to us.!"

"Wu is a good man. .I hope you make up your mind as soon as possible." She sigh. "I a.s.sumed you were clever enough to understand and to be prank with you, if ever you will be a reason for internal conflict and cause a chaos between our kingdom. .I would rather kill you and charge you for treason!"

"You. .

She really had a sharp tongue, Ah'nuh thought, but even so, she admired her for being prank and straightforward.

"But before that. .we were trying hard to make you alive in every possible way. .its not only your people who's trying hard to get you but there's also someone in here who sees you as a torn in their a.s.s!"

"Do you expect me to say thank you?" 

Ah'nuh asked her angrily, her face was reddened in fury. The friendly girl she was talking before was replaced with a dominant princess.

"No need for such.!" Ye'er snapped, ignoring her sarcasm. "Im just telling you the truth. .Im a better friend princess, but believe me, you wouldn't want me to be your worst nightmare!"

"Im going to keep that in mind. .

"Be careful.!" 

Ye'er suddenly shouted and s.h.i.+elded her, she pushed her down, before she could even finished her sentence. her words becomes a bubbles in the water.

"Arrows.!?" She gasped in her mind.

Ye'er pushed her in the other side as the arrows swooped in between them.

"But Why did she do that?" She asked herself, confusedly. didn't she just told her that she's going to kill her if ever?

but then she remembered her last two words. "Im a better friend.!" now she understood what she meant.

When Ah'nuh looked arround she found out that Ye'er was already drowning in the deep part of the pool, she was sinking fast and before she could swim in her side to help her someone grabbed her hands up.

Earlier when she was talking with Ah'nuh she suddenly sense something was a mess, she realized that only two of them stood in there and one of the ladies in the pavilion was waving a white handkerchief, she doesn't know why but she felt that the girl was giving someone a signal.

When she looked around, she saw an arrows coming pa.s.sed towards them and its target was clearly Ah'nuh Gōngzhǔ.

She threatened her a while ago but that doesn't mean she would allow her to die right under her nose.

Now she was sinking into the unknown, she forget that she's not supposed to be in water.

And Why is that.?

She doesn't know, It remained a mystery to her. she closed her eyes. .even if she wanted to moved, her body froze and the temperature of the water was dropping. 

The moment she closed her eyes she saw a flashed of random vision. .
