She Was 18 1 Prologue

It was her 18th birthday. Her lovely pink, sleeveless dress perfectly hugged her pet.i.te form. Her skin was glowing flawlessly, her milky white shoulders shone against the dim light as she walked the pathway to her grandfather's sunflower garden.

Her grandfather loved sunflowers because it reminded him of the only woman he had loved for his whole life. He had fallen in love with her when she was 18. She was her inspiration. Everything he had done has been because of her love for her. Despite coming from a poor family, he was able to grow his small automotive shop to become the country's biggest car and auto parts manufacturer. It was hard labor, but it was nothing because he wanted to do his best to marry his first love. Thinking of them made her thought about marrying her first love when her time to marry comes.

"Miss s.h.i.+n, your grandfather's looking for you." She turned and saw a young man behind her. This was her first time looking at him up close. She could not see his face clearly but he was quite tall and despite the man's mysteriously dangerous gaze he could feel gentleness in them.

"I'll be there in a minute," she replied and looked away to enjoy the beauty of the yellow flowers in front of her before she turned and walked her way back to the mansion where her visitors were waiting to greet her for her 18th birthday.

Few meters away, a pair of dark brown eyes was looking at her as she entered the old man's mansion.

He had seen the young Miss s.h.i.+n for a few times and was mesmerized by her beauty everytime. He was not hoping for anything. He was far from what he thought she deserved so he remained distant from her and got himself contented with just gazing at her from afar. Tonight was different though. He is leaving and is not sure when he could come back. The old man is sending him away and he wants to grab this opportunity to see her for the last time.

If only his family was good enough for her. He would miss her. The old man and him had an agreement and he has no way to refuse.

"You are mine, my love," he whispered as he turned around and headed for the car waiting for him.
