I realized that Identify could give me info on most of the spells I had, and tried to use it on a few techniques too.

So Cosmos Mana Flow was created by the idea of have mana flow like the River of Souls, and feed into the desired points, or planes.

Apparently with a little adjustment, this can become a mana gathering technique that speeds up the gathering process of elements.

As in using this with any spell as the base speeds up the building process quite a bit. At only level 1, it already reduces a spell that takes 0.5 seconds (WindBlade) to only 0.25! It cuts it in half! Of course that's just how long it takes to gather the air.

'Y'know, the blade of wind is kinda oversized, but it needs that for durability... huh I probably could create a small vacuum by utilizing the "puff" effect of the end, by adding in something to the structure to push all air away...'

'But even if we did that, what's the purpose of a vacuum? It will pull things in to itself to fill back up, but that really it for the application.'

'THAT'S IT! All we need to do is to add something tagged on the end, like a second WindBlade, that gets pulled in by vacuum!'

'Imagine, someone gets. .h.i.t, but they block it. Right as it seems like it's out of juice, bam! Mild air explosion pushes at them. Then, they are pulled towards the vacuum as air moves to fill it in, and a second blade is cut into their defenses, which are in disarray! Plus the second blade would be moving even faster than the original!'

'I don't think a small vacuum would pull in a full grown man or whatever enemy it is. But the push and pull effects might mess up weapon placement if they blocked it with a sword. Plus the push would slow down the second blade first, before the pull speeds it up.'

I put together the idea of had, and it surprisingly kinda worked?

It wasn't too hard to slot a second blade within the back of the first. It was kinda like a retractable X-Acto Knife.

A side effect is that each blade was only half in width of the original, so the same amount of energy was used for smaller and less durable blades. But it would be fine, if I could speed up the next blade, it would cause more damage still.

After one blade wore down, the next would appear! I noticed as I completed that idea the WindBlade spell immediately jumped to level 2, but progress in proficiency for the level was the same as before?

'I can level up a spell by figuring out a more evolved path for it! I kinda did that with FoxFire's level 4 as well, so I shouldn't be surprised... it only makes sense really...'

Next I tried to figure out the vacuum component. This was a little more a pain in the a.s.s, till I tried a different angle.

I needed all that air to go somewhere, so I "loaded" the normal WindBlade with a energy circuit where as it fell apart, the air would be pulled back together by this new "focus point" and create something again.

So I essentially made it create a new spell upon the death of the old one. And the new spell could a a second WindBlade, with all the air purposely pulled in from the back by pus.h.i.+ng the new circuit forward to create momentum to make it move quicker!

However this wasn't exactly what I'd been looking for. I decided that until I figure out how to properly create a vacuum with magic, I'd be stuck with the Level 2 WindBlade, which to be fair is pretty good as its repeated blades falling upon the same spot, and a new spell casting technique.

So that's pretty good.

Now after about an hour of messing around with magic, I kinda finally reached the end of my ability to procrastinate.

I walked out of the dungeon, and looped around to the back, the north side. I guess the mentioning of the "Mind Flayers to the West" freaked me out enough to walk around the east side.

Finally I reach the north side of the hill.

'Huh So it is for sure apple trees all around. Though I saw that on the map, which is why I never bothered coming out here after getting that upgrade. Why go back here when I had plenty of food out front?'

'Wuuuuuh... gghhhhhh... I'm gonna have to look up from the ground eventually... but I want to keep pretending it's all fine... I don't wanna die again...'

'Stop it! You are alive, now! WE are alive now! You have a chance to live in a fantasy world, to fight monsters and see demons? You're dying? So what! So were plenty of people back on Earth, but they didn't just stick their heads in the sand!'

'How about you man the f.u.c.k up? You are dying? Figure out why. What's killing you? The dungeon constructed bits? Figure out why they're there. Then, resolve it. There's monsters to the West? Gather information, prepare the defenses. For crying out loud you're a Dungeon Boss, tower defense is your job description!'

'So STOP IT! Stop hiding, stop pretending you're scared! You just don't want to deal with anything because you still can't get used to reality after being in infinity for so long? What "staring into the abyss, it stares into you" bulls.h.i.+t! You're alive now! Even if you remember that place, it's not where we are now, and there are things you can do.'
