SORCERESS 101 239 The Mu Clan

The group talked among themselves and discussed what they could possibly do to acquire more information regarding the whereabouts of the apprentice necromancer.

In the end, they still come up with the idea of visiting the Mu Clan. Although they already expect that the Clan Head won't give them much information.

"Even though we already know that we don't have that much of a chance, we still have to give it a try. So far, they are the only lead that we have regarding the apprentice necromancer. If not there, where else do you think we should start then???"

Fan Lei made his point clear and these very words are what convinced the rest of his friends to try his plan out despite knowing that the probability of success is low.

Knowing that their meeting would probably take most of their time that morning, Long Fuzi already made an arrangement and left an instruction to the court attendants that they will be having their breakfast that morning at the gazebo within Su Yan's manor.

That is why as soon as the sun takes its rightful place at the sky, not too high nor too low, the beautiful court ladies of the palace started to line up in the manor where Mu Lingxi currently resided.

The court ladies were carrying the tray of dishes in their hands and served it gracefully at the gazebo. They prepared a delicious meal for the group that morning.

Mu Lingxi and her friends savor the hearty meal prepared for them that morning while they observed the beautiful zen garden.

After feeding both of their eyes and their tummy, the group immediately started to work on their plan. Just like what they agreed to, the group made their way to the Mu Clan's residence to pay them a visit.

"I never expected that I would personally send myself back to that place after running away that night."

Mu Lingxi whispered to herself as they made their way.

[Well, I also didn't imagine that a day will come that we will set foot back at your clan residence without anyone dragging us on our feet.]

"Yeah, this was really an unexpected twist on my plan."

"Yeah.. and I think I would have to hide you from them as well. We should not give them anything that could point out any similarity between Su Yan and Mu Lingxi."

So while no one was paying them attention, Mu Lingxi stowed her cat, Ja.n.u.s, back to her storage ring.

When Long Fuzi reported his ident.i.ty at the guard stationed at the entrance of the Mu clan's residence it hurriedly left to inform their Clan Head.

As soon as they learned that the prince was personally paying them a visit right after arriving at the capital, the whole clan rejoices.

Even the Clan Head is no exemption. Mu Ruochen was instantly delighted about this news and he personally welcomed and escorted Long Fuzi's group.

Over the past half a year, the Mu Clan and the royal family had been on a stale relations.h.i.+p. Due to the willful action of their young miss, running away with her marriage to the young prince, the royal family almost lost their face.

As such, this resulted in the two families, who used to have close ties before, to turn sour. In fact, even Mu Yanxiao's marriage with the crown prince was put off because of the incident.

Also, many of the other powerful families who had been eyeing their position on the court saw this as a great opportunity to oppress them.

If not because of Mu Gaoyan's effort and past contributions to the military forces, there is no doubt that their clan would have been reduced to nothing and fallen to their ranks without any chance of redemption at all.

Of course, as a Clan Head, Mu Ruochen also tried his best to look for this wilful granddaughter of his for hopes of redeeming the situation. In fact, he even utilized their military influence and forces just to find where in the world did Mu Lingxi hide herself.

In hopes of bringing her back and fulfilling her arranged marriage to Prince Long Fuzi just like what has been agreed upon by the two families before.

Especially since the emperor did not cancel it yet. Saying that Prince Long Fuzi does not wish to cancel their marriage despite what happened. He was adamant about marrying the young miss of the Mu Clan and no one else.

He even told his father that he would rather turn into a monk and served in a temple somewhere rather than marrying somebody else.

As such, though the two families are no longer in good terms as compared to how they use to be before, the Mu Clan still managed to secure some degree of standing in the palace.

This was all thanks to Long Fuzi's words. That is why when Mu Ruochen learned that it was Prince Long Fuzi who was paying their clan a visit, he personally attended to them.

If this will be made known to the other influential families in the court, that Prince Long Fuzi personally pays his visit to his soon to be in-laws as soon as he arrives at the capital, then those hungry packs of wolves who were eyeing them all this time will have to think twice about crossing his Mu Clan.

When Mu Lingxi saw her grandfather again, she felt a light tug on her heart. The grandfather that she had on his memory is a warm old man that used to dotes her a lot.

He was vigorous and full of life. Handsome and capable man. He had a stern look on his face when facing other people. But all of those cold eyes and stern look will instantly melt away as soon as when he was with her.

Mu Rucohen is the first person in her two lifetimes that not just gave her but showers her with love and affection. He is the only person that lets Mu Lingxi knows how it feels to be cared for and loved by a family.

Thought the days that she used to stay in Mu Clan residence is short and not to mention that it did not end well too, Mu Lingxi's heart still aches to see the person that she treated as her family is now looking as if he aged ten years in just half a year of absence.

Although this same man almost sold her off into marrying a man just for his pursuit of power, she knows that deep inside him, Mu Ruochen cared for her a lot.

He must be truly disheartened when he learned she runaway from their clan.
