If there was something that Mu Lingxi could really not understand about this cousin of hers, that would be the other party's almost blind obsession of wanting to always get into her bad side.

But regardless of what kind of reason she has, Mu Lingxi knew that no matter how hard Mu Yanxiao tried to go against her it would never suffice to stop her.

Just like in their case right now.

 Mu Lingxi knew to herself that she would definitely do everything at all costs just to get her hands on the news about his Brother Gaoyan.

Be it by hook, or by crook.

If Mu Yanxiao really knew what was good for her, then she better choose wisely and stopped messing around with her anymore.

Mu Yanxiao could definitely felt that her cousin was not joking when she gave her threat so she finally told Mu Lingxi about the news regarding his Brother Gaoyan.

" I received a letter from our grandfather this morning. He said on the letter that your Brother Gaoyan suddenly went missing after he went on the borders. To date, it has been three days already."

"How did that happen???"

"Tss... How do you expect me to know??? I just basically told you what was written in the letter that was sent to me. Anything more than that, I don't know anymore."

"Then give me the letter. I want to see it."

"Huh? Why would I???"

Mu Yanxiao showed Mu Lingxi the letter in her hand but did not allow her to have a good look at it.

"How about, you say please? Maybe I could reconsider it???"

She added.

"Alright. Please... There, I said it! Give me the letter now!"

Mu Lingxi said through her gritted teeth but Mu Yanxiao only replied to her with a snicker.

Mu Yanxiao was really having a good time playing this sick joke with her cousin. 

"Oh, c'mon. That is not how you should asked for a favor. You should have at least put an effort to make it sound more sincere. How about putting a few magic stones in the line as well, to up the deal???"

Mu Yanxiao was not exactly a broke herself.

It was just that she heard the news that Mu Lingxi was not doing good in her finances lately, that was why she purposely mentioned the thing about the magic stones.

She was just trying to get under her cousin's nerves and was mocking the other party for her misfortune at the same time.

Hitting two birds in one stone.

In Mu Yanxiao's own perspective, seeing Mu Lingxi getting p.i.s.sed off would at least make her feel that traveling back and forth from the girls' dormitory going to the boys' dormitory was worth the effort.

Mu Lingxi did not wish to waste any of her breath with Mu Yanxiao anymore.

So rather than arguing with her cousin, she just threw a few magic stones at her disposal towards Mu Yanxiao in exchange for the letter.

Mu Yanxiao said with a simpered smile before she started to walk away, going to the direction that would allow her to walk pa.s.s Mu Lingxi.

But just when she was about to pa.s.s the area where Mu Lingxi was standing, the other party surrept.i.tiously extended her leg to trip her.

Mu Yanxiao obviously did not expect that Mu Lingxi would do such an underhanded thing so she ended up falling to Mu Lingxi's trick and tripped on her own feet.

'BANG!!!'

The sound of something heavy falling on the ground was followed by Mu Yanxiao's yelp of pain.

"Ouch! My ankle. I think I got a sprain."

"Ohh? What are you doing down there?"

Mu Lingxi said as she sported a concerned look on her face.

Shamelessly feigning ignorance of what she just did.

"You!!!!!"

Mu Yanxiao was almost shaking with rage when she saw how shameless Mu Lingxi's was acting.

A green vein almost popped out from her forehead due to sheer frustration.

"Wish you a safe trip, my dear cousin. Good night!"

Mu Lingxi said to Mu Yanxiao who was still left sitting on the ground as she waved her goodbye.

Of course, if Mu Yanxiao could play the white lotus role, Mu Lingxi could also do the same.

In fact, she believed that she could do it better than anyone else.

Leaving her cousin Mu Yanxiao to attend on her sprained ankle all by herself.

No matter how frustrated she was, Mu Yanxiao knew that there was nothing else that she could do against her cousin right now, given her current situation.

So she could only bend her frustration about her cousin by cursing and shouting in the open air

"AHHHHRRGGGG!!! You will have to pay for this humiliation you have brought me, someday. You witch!!!! AHHRRRGGGGGG!!!!"

Mu Lingxi and her cat have not gone far yet.

From where they were, Ja.n.u.s could still make out a few words of what Mu Yanxiao was saying.
