Dragon's Heart 26 Chapter 11: The Truth About The Blood-Moon

"What?", Kamilah said to him, "h.e.l.l no, why would I help you?". Takeo looked at her and said, "look, just help me find her, I can't do it by myself and these vamps around here will kill me in my current state". Kamilah looked away in thought. "Look, once we find her, she'll take over for you and you can go home, okay", Takeo continued. Kamilah looked back at Takeo and saw the look in his eyes. "F-Fine, I mean if you're gonna beg and all", Kamilah said, putting Takeo's arm around her shoulder and walking with him. Takeo smiled a bit as they walked into the store and out to where the damage led. As they followed the signs, they were quiet, not saying a word to each other. Then Takeo said, "I'm sorry about what I said to you in our first fight". This kinda threw off Kamilah. "What do you mean?", she asked. "Me teasing and mocking you, I just wanted you to fight, so I'm sorry if I p.i.s.sed you off then", Takeo apologized. Kamilah blushed a little and said, "s-saying sorry won't get you out of me killing you when you get your power back".

Takeo, after another pause, asked, "so, do you got any siblings?". Kamilah then said, "why the h.e.l.l are you asking?". Takeo shrugged, "just wanted to know you better, I guess", he replied. Kamilah grew silent. Takeo then said, "I guess forget about small talk-". "I have a sister, that's it", Kamilah finally said, interrupting him. "Oh, must be nice, I have a older brother and older sister, but they're rarely around", he said. "Sometimes, I wish my sister was like that, but she can be a nice older sister", Kamilah added. "Ah, so she's the youngest, too", Takeo thought to himself. Kamilah looked at Takeo and thought, "you know, now that we're not fighting each other and I can get a good look at him, he's kinda cute". "Really cute and with what I'm feeling is legit, he's really fit", Kamilah thought. "Wait, wait, what am I thinking?! I shouldn't be thinking about him like this, he's a Dragonkin, ugh, I just gotta focus on finding that goth friend of his and I can go home", Kamilah thought, shaking her head. "How is your father, the King of the Felidae?" Takeo continued to ask. "He's an amazing King, better than yours" Kamilah said braggingly. "...okay, I'll rephrase that question, how's your father, WITHOUT being biased" Takeo said. "... He's a good King but can be very harsh and strict, Rule with a Iron Fist and all", Kamilah replied. "My mom saw this in him and decided to be the motherly, compa.s.sionate Queen to offset my dad's harsh rule", she continued.

After what seemed like an hour of searching, they heard a loud crash, like a person being slammed on something. "Ugh, more of them?" Kamilah said. "Well, we don't much choice but to take em", Takeo said, trying to get into a ready position. But before they could walk over to where the sound came from, Sarah, visibly damaged, walked out towards them. "Oh, s.h.i.+t Takeo, what are you doing here?", she said as she looked at Kamilah, "and with Kamilah?". Takeo gave Sarah a rundown of what happened and told her about what Kamilah was. "Ah, so Little Ms. Popular hid stuff from her adoring fanboys", Sarah said antagonizingly. "Oh yes, because Little Ms. Goth Queen wasn't hiding the fact that she's a vampire from her childhood friend", Kamilah retaliated. "Touche, Little Princess, Touche", Sarah said. Takeo felt a bit of hostility between them. "Well, I did what agreed to, take him, heading home", Kamilah said as she threw Takeo to Sarah. Sarah, catching Takeo in her arms, said, "tch, as if you could go home". Kamilah stopped and turned to her and said, "wait, what does that mean?". Takeo stood up and looked at Sarah with confusion. Sarah then said, "...do you two remember what time you left your house?". "7, 7:30", Takeo said. "9 o'clock", Kamilah said. "And how long does it feel like it's been since you left?", Sarah asked. Both of them thought, then Takeo said, "an hour possibly". Kamilah agreed. Takeo looked up thinking then he realized something. "The moon, it looks like it's still in the same stop as when I left", Takeo said.

Sarah nodded then said, "Here's the truth about the Blood-Moon". When the Blood-Moon appears, anybody who's outside or goes outside during this time will trap you in what it is referred to as the Red Zone, a separate dimension where Vampires and Werewolves are at their height of their strength. Those outside in the Red Zone that can last till the two weeks are up for the Blood-Moon will be returned to reality. "You're kidding me, right? Another dimension?", Kamilah said. "Observe", Sarah said as she walked to the house of one of their teachers. "You know this is the house of Mrs. Addams, that old grouchy English teacher, yeah?", Sarah said. They both nodded. Sarah then proceeded to kick the door down. "Sarah, what the h.e.l.l?!", Takeo shouted. "Come in here and let me show you guys something", Sarah shouted to them from inside the house. They both stood there, very confused. Sarah sighed as she dashed out and grabbed Takeo. "Quit being a little baby and get in there!!", she said as she threw Takeo inside. Takeo landed with a crash. "Ow, the h.e.l.l", Takeo said as he sat. He then realized that the house he was in didn't feel or look like a house. "Huh, what the h.e.l.l is this?!", he said. "See what I mean?", Sarah said as she and Kamilah walked. "I know, I just now felt the odd atmosphere that looms in the air", Kamilah said, looking around. Sarah nodded. "Anyways, sorry Kamilah, but looks like you're stuck with us", she said looking at Kamilah. "As if I'll join you two", Kamilah said. "If you're anything like what Takeo told me, you have a limited amount of energy available before you exhaust it and become drained, and there is innumerable amount of Vampires and Werewolves out here", Sarah said, picking up Takeo, "Well, enjoy the next week and a half out here on the streets". She and Takeo began to walk out and down the block. "W-w-wait, you're not just gonna leave me here, are you?", Kamilah shouted as she ran after them.
