Dragon's Heart 7 Chapter 7: Darkness Rises, The Exiled Dragons

As Takeo focuses on the incoming creatures, a blast of dark energy flew past Melanie and Takeo. "s.h.i.+t, watch out, they're attacking like crazy, " Takeo shouted to Melanie. Melanie, who was oddly calm in the situation, said, "this is nothing new, they are always attacking us, like mindless animals". Melanie walked into her throne room and sat down. Takeo came up to her and said, "so, are you gonna do something about them?" "Like what?" Melanie said, "Killing them now means more will come later. It's pointless to confront them if the lives I protect will still be hurt in the end. " Takeo, enraged, yelled, "so, you're gonna give up and let them kill people. What kinda rule are you?" Melanie yelled back, aggressively, "don't push it, I'm being generous to let you stay here. Don't you dare question my authority or I'll-". "Or you'll what? Takeo interrupted, as he walked up to Melanie Gonna sit there on your a.s.s and let me look at you, cuz that's what it seems like you doing for your citizens." Melanie then stood up and looked Takeo right in the eyes. Takeo and Melanie were an inch away from each other. Melanie said in a angered voice, "you little brat". Takeo's eyes changed to his Dragonic eyes as he said, "if it was my mother, she would be out there helping them in a heartbeat and you know that". Melanie turned around and said, " but she's not here, is she? So that doesn't bother me". Takeo turned around and said , "Whatever, I'll go and deal with them". As Takeo walked away, Melanie looked at him and saw her old friend, Takeo's mother, which made her smile. "d.a.m.n, you sure do act like your mother, " Melanie said. Takeo turns around. Melanie then said, "you're also just as 'persuasive' as her too". Melanie gave in and asked, "so, what grand plan do you have up your sleeves?" Takeo told Melanie his plan. Basically, he suggests that they first fight the monsters back then let some of them retreat and follow them to where they came from. "Really, that's your plan?" Melanie commented to his plan. Takeo then said, "Of course". Melanie sighs then she and Takeo both walk outside to face the incoming horde. "Hey, everyone run into the castle grounds, you'll be safe there, " Takeo shouted as he motioned for the citizens to get into the castle. While he was doing that, Melanie held off the dark creatures. Melanie commented, "geez, they're so much weaker than i remember". Takeo replies, "good, that less energy we'll have to use". After he gather all the citizens, Takeo joined Melanie in pus.h.i.+ng back the horde. As they began their a.s.sault, the dark creatures start to retreat. "Nice, it worked, now to trail them, " Takeo yelled. Melanie sighed and rolled her eyes as they chased the horde through the dunes til they came to a stop. Takeo and Melanie stop to notice that the horde left through a portal. "d.a.m.n, we lost them, " Takeo said disappointedly. Melanie then replied, "not quite, they left a lot of Dragunov for us to follow". Takeo looked lost and confused and asked, "Dragunov?! What's that?!" Melanie then said, "Dragunov is what we Dragonkin call the special dragons have, it's an arcane energy but far more pure and raw than other types of arcane energy". "If we have some time later, I'll teach you how to sense it, " Melanie added. Takeo took a step and said, "Sweet". Melanie then said, "As a matter of fact, I'll teach you now". She told to close his eyes and get a feel of the Dragon Pulse in the air, then focus on the Pulse around the area where the portal was. "Imagine there are two cups, you can only see one the clearest, recreate the feeling of focuses on the other cup, but do it with your sensing capabilities, " Melania told Takeo. After a couple of tries, Takeo began to distinguish the different Dragunov in the area and easily senses the Dragunov of the retreating horde after more attempts. "Wow, that was easier than I thought, " Takeo said. "It should be, Dragonkin can sense energy the easiest, you will be able to sense anyone's energy if you continue to use your dragon sense, " Melanie said, "so, now that that's done, shall we continue our little pursuit?" Takeo and Melania warped to the location of the horde using the Dragon Glove. "The trail ends here, " Takeo said as they landed. "Very good, " Melanie said, "your sensing is getting good very quickly". They both look and notice a kingdom. Takeo said, "another kingdom, great". Melanie stared at the kingdom for long time until she sighed, "oh no, I know where we are, " Melanie said. "is that a bad thing?" Takeo asked, worried. A troop of armed soldiers come up to them and say, "you have trespa.s.sed on Draconian property, you'll have to come with us". Melanie then said, "to answer your question, yes". They were taken up to the castle on the mountain top in the kingdom very quickly. While they were on their way to the castle, Takeo noticed that all the citizens had long strands of a mysterious paper with writing on them wrapped all around their bodies. When they reached the castle entrance, a lady wearing a long black dress with no sleeves, holding a folding fan, with a weird marking on her right shoulder walked up to them. She then said, "I hope you know what happens to those who trespa.s.s on my land". She then stopped as she noticed Melanie. "Melanie?! It was you, what the h.e.l.l are you doing here?!" she said. "H-Hey Rose, I kinda had no choice, this kid forced my hand, " Melanie replied. Takeo said, "I'm... Takeo Ryuumaru, nice to meet you, Your Highness". Rose looked at him and asked, "Ryuumaru, as in Ryuki Ryuumaru, the king?!". Takeo got up and replied, "yes, that's my old man". All the citizens who heard this started whispering. Rose held up her fan and said, "so, it was true, he did have kids, how many of you?" "Three, me, my brother Draken, and my sister Sakurai, " he replied. Rose giggled and said, "who knew the heir to the throne was such a handsome man". "Why do you come in here with me, there's something I wish to discuss with you, " Rose said. Takeo's stopped and asked, "not to be rude, but who are you people?" Rose turned around and said, "oh, silly me, I forgot, I'm Rose Heartfelt, the Queen of the Draconians".
