"Hey, mister! What's your name?"

Mina's pet.i.te figure approached a man wearing simple jeans and a black leather jacket. He had an expressionless face as he stood erect and motionless.

She raised her small head and looked at the man, who, apparently, is going to protect her, or so said Angelica. She told Mina not to worry and that he's a good person and will make sure no one bullies her.

"…"

The man momentarily glanced at Mina before returning to his robotic behavior.

Seeing that he was like a mute, Mina didn't ask again and only pouted and ran toward the kindergarten.

"Sir?"

The woman in charge of taking care of the children saw that a strange and unfamiliar man was standing at the entrance of building.

"Don't mind me. I'm in charge of her security, I won't bother your work so pretend I don't exist."

This man was 'Alpha', one of the two loyal experts and Angelica and the person who's going to protect Mina. Although he wasn't that pleased to be given such a boring task but he didn't even raise an objection and did that his master told him.

After all, she was the one who saved him in the past and gave him a new life. Even if she tells him to do a suicidal mission, he'll not hesitate… Alpha is a man of firm beliefs and unshakable loyalty. In fact, Angelica's family tried hiring him but he firmly refused and kept following his current master.

Unlike the invisible woman who's always with Angelica, Alpha was aware of the bad relations.h.i.+p between Angelica and her family. The friction between the two sides didn't quell even after ten years pa.s.sed, nevertheless, his master never set foot into the household and practically disowned her parents, who, in the past, were against her marriage with Theodore. They even threatened the couple and did many things to try and separate them but, in the end, they gave up, though not after suffering a huge loss under Alpha and the woman's hands.

After just a couple of minutes, Alpha phone, which was an 'archaic' slider object, vibrated. First, he looked at the called then picked up,

"Yes."

A womanly voice echoed from the other side of the call. It was Angelica calling him not even ten minutes after they separated.

"Don't forget to closely watch her and keep her safe."

"Yes, master."

"You are allowed to execute anyone who tries to harm her, I will handle the consequences."

Yes, master."

"… also, treat her well, she's a good and obedient kid."

"Yes, master."

"Master, are you sure he's the best candidate to guard Mina?"

The invisible woman, who was sitting across Angelica, wasn't convinced of her master's order. Alpha had an eccentric character and not that sociable, basically, he can't be a babysitter.

In response, Angelica chuckled and said, "Maybe Mina will help get rid of that grumpiness of his."

"Unit 05 requesting immediate help! We're under attac-"

The officer couldn't even finish talking, his head was. .h.i.t by a wooden plank, knocking him unconscious. The a.s.sailant was a girl with long black hair, a black cloth covering her nose and mouth and only her black eyes could be seen.

In under a minute, she took out all the officers inside the van. She crushed the radio jumped to the s.p.a.cey back of the van, where Hayden was sitting. The congressman was shaking as he looked at the unfamiliar girl, afraid that she's been sent to kill him. He knew he angered Bert but never thought the latter would actually send an a.s.sa.s.sin.

Fortunately, or perhaps, unfortunately, the girl didn't kill him, she just hit the back of his neck, knocking him unconscious like the rest, then she raised his body and put it on top of her shoulder. She kicked the metal doors of the van, sending them flying, before jumping in the air and das.h.i.+ng to the distance, astonis.h.i.+ng all the spectating citizens. Even other officers, who just arrived at the scene, could only stare at the cheetah-like black-figure disappearing in one of the alleyways.

A few hours later, around 4PM, Elise was standing in front of Hayden, who just woke up but couldn't speak due to the gag inside of his mouth. His two hands were still handcuffed to the back of the chair and his ankles bound together by a tight and painful rope.

He looked at the girl, both confused and terribly afraid. After she stared at him for a couple of breaths, she removed the gag and raised her hand, from which a sword made of actual of solidified blood made its appearance. This caused Hayden to swallow the angry words he's going to stay and remain oddly and obediently silent.

"You have one chance to answer me."

Hearing this, the man continuously nodded his head, not wanting to anger her.

"You arrested someone named Bin yesterday night, where is he?"

"He-he's bern trakrn-" Hayden bit his tongue as he couldn't talk properly, he was just too frightened and afraid for his life.

The blood sword moved like lightning, stopping an inch away from his throat.

"Answer. Properly."

She empathized each word as she glared at him, her eyes devoid of any emotions. A disgusting liquid had wet the man's pants but he didn't care as he collected the remainder of his thoughts and shakily answered,

"H-he was supposed to be taken outsid-de of the city and k,killed but…" He gasped for breath, feeling on the brink of death.

"A man ordered me to not kill him… he he's called Bert from Alpha Constructions!""

"What else? What do you know about Bin? Tell me quickly!"

Hayden tried to distance his neck from the sharp and pointy sword while saying, "That boy works for one of my daughter's friends! She's called Jasmine! That's all I know… I swear!"

Seeing that the girl retracted her crimson sword, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Hmpf!"

Sadly, the girl didn't hesitate as she swung her sword horizontally, her movement almost unseen. By the next second, the congressman's head fell from his body and rolled on the ground.

Elise didn't even glance at the headless corpse and just swiftly left this place, which was a small hut situated in the middle of nowhere.
