He didn't even have the time to feel jealous as he wasn't a big fan of cell phones, to begin with, seeing that the phone fell right next to his feet, he bent his back to the front and stretched his hand to pick it up, after all, he couldn't just ignore it when it's this close to him.
The seat they were sitting at was big enough so there's considerable distance between them, he didn't pay much heed to how the cellphone fell right next to him and just wanted to give it back.
Who would have thought that a slender white hand would appear out of nowhere, trying to s.n.a.t.c.h the cell phone, the two hands b.u.mped into each other and a small part of Rika's wrist was exposed to Bin. Upon seeing her personally take action, he retracted his hand although her hand froze once the wrist exposed.
It only remained frozen for a second before she hastily retrieved her phone. Bin closed his eyes again as he leaned his back on the slightly comfortable seat. Not even a second pa.s.sed before he felt a chilling glare aimed at him coming from the left. He half-opened his eyes only to see the usually calm Rika glare at him coldly.
If stares could kill then he would have a hundred times, she threw him a dagger-stares as if she wanted to tear him into pieces. Confused by her sudden change, he let out a long sigh before speaking
"What else did I do now?"
Still maintaining her glare and the cold look, she retorted with a voice devoid of emotion.
"Did you see?"
Bin wasn't a person to beat around the bush, totally oblivious to her cold stare he replied with an uninterested tone.
"If you're talking about the cuts in your wrists then yes, I saw. But don't misunderstand, I do not care nor want to care about them, much less the reasons behind them."
Hearing him, Rika's body trembled as she seemed angry and sad.
"So you did see!"
Bin closed his half-open eyes as he proceeded in ignoring the glares he was getting from Rika. He wasn't an idiot and could piece up this and that together, her leather jacket in mid-summer and those cuts were related. Although he loathed people who wanted to end their lives whilst his is going to end without his consent, he didn't voice his thoughts as she has nothing to do with him, if she wants to commit suicide then let her be, he has more problems than he could handle, he doesn't want to meddle in someone else's matter, especially with her background.
Furthermore, Rika can't lie and say they are simply injuries from shattered gla.s.s, it was as clear as the sun they were not wounds but suicide attempts, fortunately, or maybe, unfortunately, unsuccessful.
Hearing the absolute silence yet still feeling her stare, Bin couldn't help but truthfully exclaim:
"Stop with your stare, it's really making me uncomfortable! And as I said before, I'm not so free to ponder about your circ.u.mstances, you go on your way while I mind my own business!"
As if his ears pa.s.sed from an ear and left from the other, Rika ignored his first sentence and kept coldly glaring at him. She threateningly said
"Is this the att.i.tude and tone a servant should talk with?"
Bin spread his hand to both directions and took a comfortable position before replying in a carefree tone
"I say, Missy, I'm human before being a servant, I do have rights and I can talk however I want, it's not someone like you who's going to either threaten me or discipline me. You're also not my master so I'm in no obligation whatsoever to treat you respectfully. Did no one tell you that you ought to respect others to receive respect. Now, if you don't mind, I'm trying to rest so..."
He waved his hand dismissively to her as if he was shooing her off, which angered the lady but she didn't protest or act like Cara or Jasmine. She retracted her glare and threw another glance at him before putting the headsets again. She was a beauty just like her friends but because she always covers herself, not anyone can notice that.
Moreover, people treat her with the utmost respect no matter what she does or say due to her powerful and complicated background, so it's considered a first for her to be scolded by a mere servant who appeared no older than her.
What infuriated Rika is not being scolded but having her cuts seen, not even her close friends, Cara, Melissa, and Jasmine know about them, neither do they question her about her weird clothing so when he caught a glimpse of them, she was startled and her emotion flared up for a moment, fortunately, she managed to calm herself in a few short seconds.
Those cuts were a taboo, if her father were to know that this servant saw them, there's no telling on what Bin's fate would become.
People from her family would look at her with disdain as they knew about her circ.u.mstances, so she doesn't hide the cuts from them, even her father would sometimes look at her in a weird way, so when she became confused about why Bin showed an uninterested expression and didn't try to probe or ask personal actions.
