The next day, Monday.

Jessy and her mom Sarah met in the canteen for lunch.

"So, did you enjoy our family picnic last night, Mom?" asked the smiling Jessy.

Sarah smiled brightly. "Yes of course! Your father and I were planning to visit the mansion every other two months, for a change."

"That's good! Mom, why every other month? We can do it once a month! I'm willing to bring you guys over there, anytime you want," Jessy suggested looking pleased with herself.

Sarah shakes her head. "No need for once a month, every other month is good enough for us."

"Alright, just say the word, Mom. I will prepare a grand feast again for us to enjoy in the mansion. I'm sure Nana Aida and Grandpa Waldo will be looking forward to our visit again," Jessy said. "Mom, what do you think about Grandpa Waldo? Can he be trusted with our secret?"

Sarah thinks for a moment. "Yeah, I think he is. Aida thinks highly of his character, so for me, he can be trusted with our well-guarded secrets just like the way Adam trusted Caden."

"Okay. Then, when we will go to the city again for bonding?" Jessy asked.

Sarah raised a brow. "What we're going to do in the city?"

"We can do a lot of things in the city, Mother dearest! For example, going to a beauty salon to have our hair cut or trim, then we will get body ma.s.sage or we can just go to the mall and do window shopping, buy books and just unwind!" Jessy suggested.

"Hmm, why not? But not now. Some other time, okay?" Sarah said. "By the way, daughter, if you have some errand in the city, can you please buy me two packs of roasted cashew nuts, I'm running out of stock."

Jessy smiled. "No problem, Mom. I will go out tonight to check the residence of the humans that are scheduled to go home this week. I will drop by on the store to buy cashew nuts, do you have any other request aside from the cashew nuts?"

Sarah shakes her head. "Hmm...I can't think of anything else right now, just cashew nuts for today..."

"Okay, got it, Mom," Jessy replied. "By the way, was Dad happy and satisfied with our picnic yesterday?" she asked.

Sarah smiled. "The first time I had seen your father smile and laugh in abandon after a long time was yesterday. He missed the place so much. In the mansion, he can live like a normal being with me. We are looking forward to that day when you can finally transform your father into a mortal so that we can live normally like any ordinary family. It's our wish and lifetime goal, child, and it's all in your hands. You have the gift to make all things possible for the vampire clan," she said.

Jessy stared at her mother's face for a long time. "I will, Mom. It's kind of a bit slow as of the moment and it may take a few years but eventually, we will arrive at that time when our dreams will finally be fulfilled, one day at a time, I will make things happen. One day the prophecy will finally come true and we all be free from hiding," she said with an optimistic voice.

Sarah smiled and touched her daughter's head tenderly. "Your father and I are so proud of you, daughter. You carry on the heavy responsibility on your shoulder with ease and a positive mindset. You are indeed the savior of the vampire clan!"

Jessy smiled at her mother. At some point in the past when she was still young she vowed to herself that she will do anything to see her parents alive once again. She's a happy person now. She will be happier if she can complete her mission for the well being of the entire vampire clan and they can finally go back to the mansion and live a normal life, that would be a few years from now.

"Are you tired, daughter?"

Jessy looked at her mother frowning at her question. "Tired of what, Mom?" she asked.

"Of the heavy responsibilities that you are carrying on your shoulder every day? The blood transfusion and everything—"

Jessy shook her head lightly. "At first the burden is so heavy, but somehow I kind of get used to it. I had accepted the heavy responsibility with open arms and I'm no longer the same naive girl that I used to be. I have been exposed a lot to the outside world and the path I'm walking right now is not ordinary. In the outside world, I met a lot of people of all kinds. Some are good people living in poverty and hard situations and my heart go out to them, then I also encounter bad people without an ounce of guilt and conscience in their heart and they showed me the art of killing without mercy so I acted the same way towards them. In every type of person I met outside the Facility, bad or good, I learned a lot from them. Life indeed is a great and interesting journey for me, Mom. I learned a lot!" she said.

Sarah sighed, feeling a mixed emotion while looking at her daughter's face. Probably the one thing that she doesn't like about the lessons her daughter had learned from the outside world was the killing process. Her daughter probably already killed a dozen criminals, it's every mother's worst nightmare, but her daughter is old enough to decide what is good and bad for her, it's up to her, being a mother she can only give some advice now and then, but the decision is always up to her daughter.

The more her daughter exposed to the reality outside, the more her knowledge and personality broadened. Her only wish that she won't abuse her powers, because sometimes when a person was gifted with great powers they become arrogant, act and feel high and mighty and abused their powers for personal and selfish gains.

"Just don't abuse your power, child. That's all I'm asking from you," Sarah spoke aloud. "Be considerate of other people's feelings and emotions, don't act rashly. If you suddenly made a mistake especially when it comes to costing someone's life, it can never be reversed. You understand me, daughter?"

"Yes, Mom! I always remember your words in my mind," Jessy answered seriously.

"That's good, child! I'm relieved to know that you always keep my reminders in your mind before making any life-altering decisions especially when it comes to other people's lives," Sarah responded.

"But when it comes to bad and evil people, your reminders don't apply to me, Mom," Jessy joked.

"Okay, fine. Let's not talk about bad people any more," Sarah said.

The mother and daughter finished eating their meals in the canteen. They left the place and went their separate ways to perform their respective daily routine and responsibilities inside the Facility.
