The Last Embrace 421 It's Better This Way

The following day.

Jessy was lying in the clinic bed for her 2nd blood transfusion for the day. She was planning to visit Adam in his condo in the city tonight. When he comes here the other day, she wasn't in the Facility because she was checking on Jagger's progress in the city.

After monitoring Jagger's activity in the city she finally concluded that he was behaving well as he had promised to her. But she won't be convinced easily. She would still check on him from time to time...maybe once a week to evaluate his activities in the city...the moment he starts behaving badly she will ask Roden to put his brother back in the bottle to be imprisoned there for eternity.

She had given him another chance to redeem himself, he shouldn't waste it!

Jessy fixed her stare at the gla.s.s window of the clinic.

All of a sudden, Adam's face materializes in the gla.s.s window, he was looking at her, smiling. She waves her hand at him, he waved back.

Adam mouthed something to her.

'See you later!' he said.

Jessy nodded her head.

Adam walked away, he strolled in the hallway, wondering who to see first? His parents or his brother Zain?

He decided he wants to see his brother first.

He walked towards the prison-like room situated at the end of the hallway.

Inside the prison-like room.

Zain was staring blankly at the wall.

Suddenly, a form materializes inside the room, it's his younger brother Adam.

"Hi bro, what's up?" Adam said.

Zain breathed deeply. "You promised that you will stay here in my prison room. If you have no plan to stay here don't bother to come back," he glared at him.

Adam grinned and sat on the edge of the bed. His older brother was acting like a child. When he will ever act like an adult?

"I'm here to bring you the good news..." Adam said.

Zain's brows knitted together. "What is the good news?"

Adam smiled. "I finally decided to take your offer! I will stay here in your cage for as long as you want but you have to promise me that you will set Jessy free. You will announce to everyone that you and Jessy will no longer be together as husband and wife. Can you do that, bro?"

"Okay, I will do that. Anything else?" Zain's face brightened up.

"With the recent merging between the savage clan and with our clan. Mother and I will team up to send more than one hundred abducted humans back to their family..."

Zain's brows furrowed. "And what does it have to do with you?" he asked frowning. Her sister, Abigail told him once about the momentous event when the leader of the savage vampire finally surrendered peacefully to his father.

"I will be out of this room for maybe twice in one week to help mother speed up the process of sending them home, then after that, I will stay here for good. But I have to remind you that I will only stay here for two years, brother. That is just my way to let you know that I'm serious about wanting to repair the damage that occurred between us because of Jessy. Take it or leave it," Adam said.

Zain sneered at his brother. "Who are you trying to fool? You will still see Jessy behind my back and you will continue your relations.h.i.+p! Do you think I'm that stupid?"

Adam released a deep exasperated sigh. "What exactly do you want, brother?"

"I want you and Jessy to completely avoid seeing each other!" Zain said selfishly.

Adam took a deep breath. "That is exactly what I'm going to do, I'm willing to stay here and be imprisoned by these prison room for two years. I'm trying to meet all your demands so that we can patch things up between us. I'm going to give Jessy freedom too, to do anything with her life. I'm releasing the three of us from the painful shadow of our past. Is this what you always wanted to do? To separate Jessy and me? Now, that I'm agreeing with you...you are doubting my words and intention?" he said in frustration.

Zain was silent for a minute or two. "How serious are you with this setup?" he asked.

Adam stood up. "I will stay in this room with you starting this coming Friday," he said in a serious tone.

"I will only believe you if you are already here," Zain said.

"You can count on that," Adam replied. "One more thing brother, the moment you are ready to announce to everyone that your marriage to Jessy is already dissolved, you can start living your life outside and be free from this prison wall. I will ask our parents to release you," Adam said.

Zain looked at his brother's face closely. "Why are you willing to do all this?"

Adam smiled sadly. "Because I want you to be happy. Seeing Jessy and me going our separate ways will make your heart happy. Besides, Jessy wanted the marriage to be dissolved and it will make her happy if you will set her free. You and Jessy will both be happy because all your heart's desire is granted finally. If I see you two guys happy then it's worth the sacrifice. Someone has to sacrifice for other people to be happy and I'm willing to do just that so that the two people that I love will be free. This is called true love, brother."

"You're a fool!" Zain smirked.

"Not really, I'm just agreeing to your demands. As I have said earlier, whatever makes you happy and what makes Jessy happy even if the price I have to pay is great then it will be worth it. It's better this way, out of the three of us, two will be happy and only one will suffer, my sacrifice will serve its ultimate purpose," Adam said.

Zain stared at his brother's face for a long time. Call it childish or what...it doesn't matter...he just wants to test if his brother is serious with his intention. If he is, then no one between the two of them will end up with Jessy in this lifetime. It's better if Jessy will end up with somebody else other than his brother because it will be a heavy blow on his pride and ego.

"Alright, it looks like you already made up your mind brother, by all means, I will welcome you here with open arms," Zain said happily.

Adam only nods at his brother and left the room.
