~North Star University~

Saya drove her small white car to the right side of the ma.s.sive iron gate. The gates were divided in two for general and vip entrance. People entering through the vip entrance pa.s.sed through with a simple scan of the car license plates. They were students sitting at the very top of the hierarchy. Young masters and ladies of the most influential families in the country. They didn't need to go through scrutiny to enter the campus.

Saya rolled down her window and handed her school ID to the security guard next to her. The guard was used to seeing fancy expensive cars and was quite bewildered when a small common white car pulled up to the gate. The small and simple car was out of place with the sea of luxurious foreign cars that drove through the gates. It made him curious as to who the owner of the car was. He stared at the beauty inside the car wondering who she was. 'Saya Summers, first year, Criminology major..hmmm why does that name sound familiar,' thought the guard. After checking her credentials he handed her ID back.

"Your fingerprint please," said the security guard placing the small tablet in front of Saya. At the bottom of the tablet was a fingerprint scanner. Saya quickly placed her thumb on top of it and after a couple seconds a beep was heard.

"Thank you please proceed."

She drove her car into the campus and made her way into her designated parking zone. Each student were a.s.sign a parking s.p.a.ce within the campus's four parking zones. The modern campus was elegant and highly protected. It was equipped with a military grade security system and highly train specialized guards were stations in every entrances of the buildings.

The North Star Hospital was located across the university and a police station right behind it. It wasn't a coincidence that the buildings were within close proximity of each other. North Star University was founded by the rich to educate their young, hundreds of years ago. While the rules have now change to allow anyone with talents to apply for the prestigious university it was still mainly a school for wealthy heirs and heiresses. Due to the background of the students attending NSU their safety and well being were top priority.

It's almost impossible to get into NSU unless you pa.s.sed through their elevator system in high school. Students in the top ten percent were automatically accepted, bypa.s.sing the rigorous college entrance exam. North Star University had millions of applicants every year but barely .01% ever gets accepted.

Saya left North Star high school in her second year so she had to take the exam. It was unprecedented for a student to take the entrance exam in another country but since there was no set rules against it, Saya got away with it. She took her proctored exam at an affiliated college campus. It was no surprise to her or her family that she got a perfect score and as a rule of the university anyone who got a perfect score will automatically be accepted.

After driving for a few minutes she found her designated parking spot. Checking her watch Saya realized her first cla.s.s was going to begin soon. She walked to her cla.s.sroom. Along the way she felt eyes on her and the loud whispers from her peers followed her. She recognize some of the students whispering as some of her old cla.s.smates.

"OhmyG.o.d that's her right. I can't believe she has the nerve to show her face again after all this time."

"I heard she cheated on Haru and that's why she left."

"Yup, she got pregnant and got rid of the baby."

"She didn't leave she got chased out by the Hayas.h.i.+'s."

Saya paid no mind to the increasing chatter around her and continued her way to cla.s.s. Reaching the door she inhaled deeply and proceeded to enter. Everyone froze as they saw her enter. Paying them no mind Saya walked to the empty seat in front. A burst of loud chattering echoed as the students shock pa.s.sed. It was rumored that the former ex-girlfriend of young master Haru Hayas.h.i.+ had return. Not only that but she pa.s.sed the entrance exam with a perfect score. Only three other students in the history of the university have ever gotten a perfect score. Even without her reputation as Haru's ex-girlfriend that news alone would have made her the most talk about person in the university. Of course being Haru's ex overshadowed Saya's achievement as the student body found it more entertaining to speculate about her former relations.h.i.+p with Haru.

"I don't know what Haru ever saw in her. Look at her, she's so short, she looks like a child. So what if her face is pretty. There are so many more beautiful girls with better backgrounds than her."

Saya continued to ignore everyone. She had thick skin and wouldn't let a few words from incompetent brats who still had their a.s.ses wipe by someone else rattle her. Reaching inside her bag she took out her laptop, hacking into the police system. She quickly bypa.s.sed the police's security system. Opening file after file, skimming through the piles of information.

'Hmmm...looks like another cover up. This guy must have connections in high places to be able to bury three s.e.xual a.s.sault crimes so fast. The last two victims retracted their stories, they must have been paid off. d.a.m.n the third victim is in a coma due the a.s.sault she suffered.'

It was normal for the rich to buy their way out of everything. Human nature is so easily corruptible. Saya scowled reading the hospital reports on the victims. They were heavily beaten and severely raped for hours. The last victim fared worse than the others, slipping into a coma after her brain started hemorrhaging.

'Whoever did this is inhumane and just because they happen to be rich they got away with it,' she thought bitterly.

...'For now,' Saya added as an afterthought.
