Right after the red robes youth had practically yelled those words, every one, including all the carriages behind the Ye Family's, suddenly stopped.

The emperor was considered young, only in his early forties. He still had slick black hair and sharp dark eyes. They were cold, merciless, reminding Ye FengTian very much of the crown prince that she used to be engaged to.

Everyone had risen up, only to find the emperor's eyes focused on a certain youth standing right outside of the imperial gates.

The youth still had a smirk, however it was faint.

"Your name is?" The emperor asked the red robes youth.

The youth replied with a light smile, "I'm Ye Rui."

"A nice name." The emperor commented with an unreadable smile, his golden robes s.h.i.+ning beneath the rays of sunlight.

"I a.s.suming your here to try for the entrance exams for Jade academy?" The emperor asked, the same unreadable expression on his face.

"Replying to your highness, this humble one is indeed." Ye Rui replied respectfully, a smile also on his face.

"Well, you better start lining up then." The emperor commented, although, it was more like a decree to line up.

The red youth was beaming, his expression was of joy, smiling, he replied the emperor,

"Of course, your highness."

As these two seemed to be having a harmonious chat, the people within the Ye family (besides Ye FengTian) were all gaping in shock at the scene playing out in front of their eyes.

Barley capable to come in terms with the events playing out, the patriarch managed to gather together his emotions and finally calmed down.
