He bites his bottom lip as he contemplates his next words, "As a daughter of a Rothschild and more so because she was one from the main family. She had a duty; you might think I'm insane for saying this but it's how I was raised.

"Well although, everything appeared calm on the surface. The waters were turbulent underneath. Some didn't like your mother's 'arrogance' and some didn't like her using the Rockefellers as a defence.

On the day when news of your grandfather's health was released, they acted knowing that the old fogey was your family's only protection.

They…. Poisoned them.

And as if a sick game. Decided to test their love by offering one antidote.

Your Dad. Without hesitation, placed it in his mouth and fed it to your mother. Hoping at least she would survive.

He pa.s.sed not long after, and she too after it was discovered that the antidote was no antidote but a drug meant to keep the user addicted without which she would die.

They wanted her to beg and kneel. She didn't. She never did and she pa.s.sed away 1 year later…. Weak and broken, but those eyes never once quit."

"And … where were you? If she was your friend?"

"I…." He pauses, "I was the one who Poisoned them."

"I sacrificed my best friends to save myself. I always thought Suzy would do the same but, she never did"

Looking at the man whose eyes are now hollow, I can't help but let out my uttermost disgust, "You are trash. You killed my parents and now you want to take their company away from their only child!?"

"I know." He nods, "But it's the only way to keep you safe and for me to get revenge. I'm no longer a dog they can pet. I am a virile hunting dog, who is going to bite the head off my master"

"How n.o.ble of a dog" I can't help but scoff at his self-righteousness even though he caused the death of his so-called friends.

"Dylan. I never "He pauses, "I never wanted to hurt them" he says ashamedly

"A snake, doesn't shed his skin. Give me a reason to trust you"

Seeing that there is some hope, he smiles as he makes his way across the office towards a painting, lifting it he reveals a hidden safe unlocking it with a thumb print before taking out a bundle, and handing it to me.

"What's this?" I ask as I look at the contents.

"Read it" He says as I slowly open the contents, perusing what appears to be legal doc.u.ments.
