Sounds of firecrackers resounding in the air, its lights were sparkling magnificently in the clear night sky, and the peoples' mind was still wandering in the excitement of the atmosphere.

Tonight was the night which the Starfall Emperor held an event for the remaining partic.i.p.ant of the Martial Tournament. In this night, there was a banquet inside the Starfall Empire Royal Palace. Everyone from the n.o.ble clans of the Starfall Empire was invited, both young and old, along with each and every person from big eight of the Martial tournament.

"Congratulations for the eight young genius of our Empire, and Keep do your best for the Quarterfinal the day after tomorrow. Give warm applauses for them every one, they are our star tonight!"

A deafening hand clap sounded from the Banquet Hall, peoples were excited to see the new eight young genius of the Empire. They are the future pillar of the Empire, and... their source of both entertainment and the monetary boost from the gamble.

"Good lad, you were very fierce! How did you learn that move from before?"

"Young man, your build is so huge! You also look heroic, but how much do you eat every day?"

"Hohoho, you must be from Fire Mountain clan. I and your father were the best friends when we were a toddler. How he's doing?"

"That's my son there, I know from the moment of his birth that he will be a great Spirit master. At that time there was a bolt of lightning striking our house when he was born then..."

Many kinds of praises, flattery, and bragging could be heard from various corner of the banquet hall, the atmosphere was joyous and bright inside.

In one of the corners, Dai Weisi just arrived and was drinking alone watching the merry crowd.

"Big Brother, you have arrived early! Why are you standing so far away? Since you are here, let's greet Royal father together."

Dai Weisi gritted his teeth. There were some matters that were more likely to happen the more you avoided them. He already stood so far away, yet he was still seen by someone. The person who spoke was Dai Mubai, who was Dai Mubai's younger brother that shared the same father but had a different mother. They used to be no different from siblings out there, but since his little brother showed his talent, envy started to swallow him bit by bit.

No one would willingly be a piece of tras.h.!.+ No one would be able to indefinitely endure the mockings and humiliations from others! No one would willingly look up to others for the rest of their life!

Dai Weisi started cultivating at the age of 6 like others with an innate Spirit power of 9. Within two years, he managed to raise his rank to the peak of spirit master rank then advanced into spirit grandmaster a month later, and within another year's time, he achieved the meditative state that rare for the people at his age. In another three years, just when he turned twelve, he achieved the 30th level of the Spirit Grand Master rank. He appeared to have been at the cusp of consolidating his cultivation. Back then, he was a rare talent that appeared only once in a hundred years in the Empire.

At that time, just when his little brother was graduated from the Sage temple, he heard that the Temple Master and Grand Elders were personally tested him and gave him a flying color. Everyone in the Sage Temple paid attention to Dai Mubai, and the members of the temple would lavish all sorts of praises on Dai Mubai. Dai Weisi became just like an abandoned puppet, forgotten by everyone.

Since then, he hated Dai Mubai. They were both the son of Emperor, so why was it that Dai Mubai was loved by everyone and yet he was forgotten?

Several surrounding peoples turned their heads towards them, at first they didn't recognize the prince duo, but few observant people manage to gather clues from their resemblance with the Emperor. One people approached them then bowed, earned a curious glance from many ignorant eyes.

"It is my honor to meet you, your highness Prince."

That short line succeeded to create an uproar among the n.o.bles. Only the upper echelon of the Empire know the ident.i.ty of the Royal Prince until they are crowned at the age of 18, before that though they have to go through the baptism of war and blood.

"And this must be the highness second prince, it is my honor to meet you."

When they heard the second line spoken, the crowd went silent. If there Emperor has more than one descendant, then they have to battle each other to test their abilities and prove their worthiness which often to led to the death of the losing party.

'Does it means that one of them will be dead years later?' Many similar questions went through the mind of the peoples present.

"It's an honor to meet you too, Elder Ku. My name is Dai Mubai."

"Hoho, my name is Ku Jianghai, the fourth elder of the fire mountain clan. I'm here to accompanying my nephew there, he's one of eight remaining partic.i.p.ants of the tournament."

"Congratulations then for your nephew Elder Ku, Pardon me, but I and my royal brother have to meet our royal father first. Let us talk again when the chance present." Dai Mubai said with a troubled looking face, it was not easy to act humble, but he still has to do it, at least he would get the goodwill of his future va.s.sals.

They changed pleasantries for a bit before Mubai decided to end it right away. Unknown to both of them, two pairs of eyes watching and observing them closely through the crowds.

"Hoho, you're too polite your highness. Pardon me if I waste your time, may the fate let us meet again." Elder Ku then bowed again to excuse himself.

"Come on big brother, let us greet royal father." Mubai then asked his big brother again with a bright smile.

Dai Weisi did not move; he instead just stared coldly at the crowd, and no one knew what he was thinking in his heart. Dai Mubai turned towards the crowd and slowly walked over. The crowd opened up a pa.s.sageway for him, with the expectation that 'maybe this was going to be a good show' written all over their faces as they looked at Dai Weisi.

"Big Brother, why are you not moving? Are you not going to give your little brother here some face?" Dai Mubai said distraughtly as he went back and grabbed Dai Weisi's wrist with his right hand, leading him to the front.

However, when he pulled, he found that he was not able to move Dai Weisi's wrist. He could not help but sigh– 'What is wrong with you?' Right as Mubai was about to ask why his big brother didn't want to move...

Dai Weisi flung his hand away ferociously, managing to fling away Dai Mubai's hand under the eyes of the crowd, and replied coldly.

"There is no need for little brother to exert himself. I can walk by myself."

Immediately there was a burst of mutterings. Why were the first prince fling away the second prince's hand? Although Dai Mubai way of talking was informal, it can't be said that it was impolite either. Why did he act Like that?

Dai Mubai, whose hand was flung away by his big brother, stared blankly for a period of time, but his mood immediately turned unpleasant shortly after. This big brother of mine really childish ah, he actually dared to make him lose face in front of everyone. He gloomily followed Dai Weisi and walked over.
