The Concubine's Daughter Comes Around 12: Gnawing Pill

Dong Ling stood up. She wasn’t a tall girl, but somehow, she looked strong and hard to deal with.

Seeing this, Li Fugui was scared and broke out into a cold sweat. He staggered backwards, but Dong Ling kicked his knee hard.

The next moment, he was lifted by a strong hand. Dong Ling caught him easily and tried to throw him.

He continued, “If I knew you were so cruel, I wouldn’t have tried to hurt you! I would have served you heart and soul!”

“Too late! If you hadn’t tried to hurt us yesterday, I might let you go. But you made a mistake when you were too arrogant, but not strong enough.” Dong Ling replied and kicked him away.  

Just at this moment, Concubine Lin opened the door with sleepy eyes. She just woke up from the sleeping drug.

“Gos.h.!.+ What happened? Oh, my daughter! Why is there so much blood?” asked her.

Looking at the surprised look on her face, Old Li trembled and suddenly scrambled to her.

He then begged, “My lady! Please put in a good word for my son! Please ask Miss Ling not to kill him! He’s my only son! As long as you can stop her, I will be your slave and give you all my properties!”

By then, Concubine Lin realized what happened. She looked serious, but couldn’t help chuckling secretly.

Dong Ling gave a pleasant smile, put out the dagger and was ready to kill him. Old Li, who was kneeling on the ground, burst into wails.

He wept, “My Lady! I was just trying to make a living. We’re both suppressed by Mrs. Dong. Why must you embarra.s.s me? If you take me to your side, I can help when Mrs. Dong asks about you. And I can give you all my properties. Xiangzhou is a fertile agricultural region. Every month, I’ll get hundreds of taels of gold for the rent only. Not to mention the products!”

A bright idea suddenly occurred to Old Li. In a rush, he asked some servants to carry his son away for treatment.

“Wait!” yelled Dong Ling as she waved. Old Li s.h.i.+vered and stopped.

Dong Ling took out of a porcelain and poured out two pills quickly. Then she stuffed them into Li Fugui’s mouth and his father’s mouth forcibly.

“What the…” Old Li coughed, with some bad feelings.  

Dong Ling laughed while her eyes looked deeper. She said in a louder voice, “It’s the Gnawing Pill. You’ll have to take the antidote on this day of every month. If you behave well, you’ll have the antidote as scheduled.”

Hearing that, Old Li’s was distorted. He thought, “Must I always listen to such a young girl in my life?”
