I truly wanted to delay the meeting with my new father as long as possible, a meeting at this time would be horrible hence why I took the diarrhetic immediately. Needing time to sort through the memories of my past to be able to talk to my new father to make sure he's not suspicious of my personality.

The child beforehand had been rather timid with his father, but that wouldn't be beneficial to my plans, as being a timid n.o.body would be able to lay low but to get the person that tried to kill me to attempt it again I needed to raise myself quickly. More painful elixirs that required the person to suffer were the only things that could rise my position, and all of them used rather valuable medical plants or venoms from beasts.

For materials such as those I needed to show my worth to the family and be appointed them, though a few of those ingredients I should be able to get through my father, especially the ones that the family hasn't found very much use for.

While eating to recover my strength I wrote down several ingredients for my father to gather for me, using my memories of this place to only use resources that were abundant or useless to the current family. They would see this as a way to gain favor with my father without actually spending much especially since it was his now useless child who was asking for it.

With a final drink of water to wash down the last pieces of meat before adjusting my clothes, a faint powder was spread out and whirled around my clothes. The smell of lavender, and a hint of lemon filled the air the smell clinging to the materials of my clothes. "That should get rid of lingering smells."

As I stepped out of the room I instructed the maids to get my father who had been waiting hearing about my strange actions thinking that it was side effects of the poison or the cure expelling the waste from his body.

When I made it to my desk I used my magic to change the chair, bring about a wider back and taller legs so that it put me into a position of power. Moving the desk so that neither were at the ends of the table, I straightened my outfit before sitting down to make the scene. My two daggers were s.h.i.+fted from my sleeves to my desk, hiding them would do no good.

My other father had told me that showing yourself in a position of power would make people subconsciously want to follow through with your demands. Even though this was my father I couldn't help but to think of him as someone that could benefit me or hinder me in my progress to keep myself safe. He hadn't been the babying type, but he let the previous owner turn into someone useless when it came to this vicious world.

With a deep breath I sat in the chair, cutting a few leaves in front of of myself taking proper care to make sure the seeds were properly separated I waited for my father to arrive.

It took ten minutes before I heard rushed footsteps that heavily crashed upon the floor, when the door came cras.h.i.+ng in I was greeted by a burly bearded man standing at a full six feet tall and nearly four feet wide. A grin spread across his face that made him look oddly hungry, like a beast that had been set free upon a hundred rabbits. His eyes however were beaming with joy their brown color turning hazy as they teared up.

The man ignoring the set up and atmosphere that I created stomped past the desk and pulled me into a big hug. His body was holding onto me right as it softly shook as if he was scared that letting me go would put me into another coma.

There was a long silence as the old man just held onto me, my mind was blank for a few seconds as for half of me this was a new experience since empathy was for the weak willed, affection was for your benefit...

My eyes slowly started to water up as my body slowly relaxed finally embracing the bear of a man. Silent tears came out of both of us as my plans to try and manipulate this man just came to me hold my father tightly.

When the two of us parted we both looked away from each other, using the time to readjust my outfit as my father just coughed and looked to the door to make sure no one saw.

"I see that you're well." My father looked over to the table, "You've already picked up on your studies? You should rest more." His eyes searched around the room as if to bring up topics, he was a man of war and action he had never been able to talk to his son very well without both of them falling into an awkward silence. His eyes stopped dead on the two knives on the desk almost s.h.i.+nning with excitement.

"I'll never be as... round as you, but I believe I'm as fit as I can be given the circ.u.mstances. I've been stuck in a bed for quite some time my body refuses to rest right now because of that, I picked up some knives to practice with though since my body needs to stretch." A smile touched my lips, he was the same as my memories told me.

"Yes! Yes! I shall gather a group of trainers, and gear you will have a full regiment in ten days!" The man bellowed beaming with pride before I shot him down.

"No, you know all of your trainers are brutes that only care about building muscles. I think it fits me more to work with flexibility and stealth."

"Like a rogue? But.. there's no honor in.."

"If the enemy is dead can he argue about honor? Someone poisoned me father, I can't fight someone so underhanded with honorable means." A deadly flint pa.s.sed through my eyes, when my father saw he once again inflated with pride.

His timid son wanted to kill someone, he had never been so proud in his life as a father. Even if he was going to start scheming to kill his foe he wasn't going to say anything bad about it, he never had the mind for those types of games that politics had you play that didn't mean that his son wouldn't. "Good good! Make sure he pays with his head since he wanted to use that to kill you! If you find out who it is your father will raze a village to kill that b.a.s.t.a.r.d!"

I looked at him weirdly, shouldn't a father be directing me to not kill someone, or be more protective? This was completely throwing me off, but I took out a piece of paper and handed it to my father. "I need these to strengthen myself, these herbs should make potions that will help me recreate my body. I need something to catch up with the people my age, and surpa.s.s them should my plans work. These are just the basics, I'll need more in the future."

He didn't even look over the paper before putting it away, "I'll make sure to get these for you, but you need to find a woman. You missed too man-"

"Out! Out now!" I stopped him with my shouts. How was I supposed to think about women at a time like this‽

"I just want two or twenty kids, come on. Find at least two mistresses by next year!" He immediately went for the door when he saw me going for the knives. Both of them slamming into the door when he shut it.

His eyes turned serious outside in the hallway, staring at the door itself, "They went in about two inches, both of them slammed in blade first. There is no way an amateur of these strange blades could do such a thing." He frowned deeply, before walking away he knew it wasn't time to bring this up.
