Within half an hour, Chen Mu safely brought Susu back to the Yin residence. The entire car ride was filled with nothing but silence. He didn't dare interrupt her deep thoughts. Inside her head, she was thinking back to many similar situations where Tian Yuo would randomly lash out his anger on her and say nasty words.
'The weird part is that whenever he does that, he would include Karen's name. Could it be that she made up nonexistent things to frame me? Hah, now that I think about it, I never understood a word that Tian Yuo has told me until now. Everything would add up, but why would she do something like this?'
"We're here," he announced with uncertainty in his voice as he looked at Susu's visible eye bags from the lack of sleep. With her deep thoughts floating like clouds in her mind, her hands searched sloppily and finally found the b.u.t.ton on top of the buckle. Although she knew that she would have to face her family sooner or later, her fingers still nervously ran up and down the seat belt strap. Finally, she snapped out of her thoughts and realized that they were in front of her house.
She was in a daze while watching her home from across the street with a trace of solemnness in her eyes. Seeing the unwillingness from her body action, he unbuckled the seat belt for her, "Do you need me to go in with you? Or maybe drive around a little bit longer so that you could prepare yourself?"
Susu turned her head around with a sweet smile on her face, catching him off guard. "This is something between my family and me. I think it'll be best if I face it alone. If I stay here any longer, I won't have the courage to even step out of this car. Since I need to do this sooner or later, I'd rather deal with this now."
Before she reached to push the car door open, she turned around once again and gave Chen Mu a tight hug, "Thank you."
For all these years looking after her and staying by her side, she never initiated a hug. Susu was not the type of girl who would open up to just anyone. Therefore, this hug really meant a lot. When her hands reached for the door handle, a pair of arms wrapped around her from behind. Though the hug was short, the warmth lingered on her body, giving her the courage she needed to face the upcoming chaos.
The tight grip of her palms against his arms slowly loosened as seconds ticked by slowly. Finally, she patted his hands gently, "I'm okay. Trust me, I can handle it."
"Are you sure?" His concerned voice instantly filled her heart with warmth.
"Yeah. Because I know that even if others don't believe in me, at least two people have faith in me." She rested her face on his left arm for a little bit.
"Two?"
"You and myself. Since I never did anything wrong, there is no reason to hide from them. Whether they believe my words or not, that is their problem." She pulled his arms off her shoulders, exited the car, and took large steps towards the house.
The keys to the house felt extremely heavy as her fingers turned the key to the right direction and pulled to unlock the entrance door. Not even three seconds stepping into the house, Susu sensed a high dangerous blow aiming at her direction.
Instinctively, she moved away and used a nearby metal board to block the hit, "Owww!!!!! You jinx!! How dare you block my slap?!!!" The woman's high pitched scream echoed in everyone's ears.
Susu looked at the pretty handprint that was engraved onto the metal board in her hands with amus.e.m.e.nt, "Wow! Stepmother. You must have used a lot of strength while aiming towards me without any warning. This pretty print here belongs to you. As much as I wanted a tattoo, I didn't want one coming from your rough hands."
"You! After doing such a despicable thing to your sister! How dare you talk back with such an att.i.tude?! I'm your mother, so I have the right to teach you what is right from wrong! Stealing your sister's fiance is a f.u.c.king nasty move!" Susu's stepmother, Liang Yu Qing was huffing heavy breaths like an angry dragon that had been awakened from its nap.
"First of all, I haven't done s.h.i.+t to anyone, but myself. Playing nice for all these years are too tiring, so why can't I stand up for myself for once? Second of all, what sister? She's your daughter. At most, she is my step sister, whom I have full rights to suspect of being the one who drugged me that night. Third of all, you say stealing someone's fiance is a nasty move, but you climbed onto my dad's bed and got yourself pregnant many years ago. Which of these sound more shameless?"
Susu crossed her arms as her eyes scanned the entire living room. She noticed that other than Karen and her stepmother, n.o.body else was present. This means that her father was most likely hidden in the dark about this meeting.
Quickly, she adjusted her position, pretended to stretch her arms backwards, and skillfully unlocked her phone. After years of experience, she mastered texting while not looking at the screen with her hands from her behind.
She texted Chen Mu, "Call my dad and tell him to come home quick. Texting backwards, so don't reply."
Upon receiving her text, he dialed Susu's father, Yin Zin Leung's number. When he got through he briefly summarized the situation to him and he asked Chen Mu to help him keep an eye from outside the house just in case a fight breaks out.
Immediately after hanging up the phone call, Chen Mu rushed towards the house and watched from the window while listening to the conversation from the inside.
Karen continued playing her weak role like always and shed tears, hoping to gain sympathy points from Susu, "Sis! I.. I really.. I don't know what to say anymore! I told you clearly that Bro Yuo and I loved each other dearly. I wanted your full blessings and yet you... you betrayed my trust like that!"
Liang Yu Qing patted her daughter's back gently, comforting her, "It's alright. Mommy won't let this go easily. This b.i.t.c.h can rot in h.e.l.l and be the public c.u.m dumpster after I beat the c.r.a.p out of her pretty face. Being a s.l.u.t like that at such a young age is truly disgusting!"
Susu glared at her with a scornful gaze, "It's funny when you say that to me because it sounds super ironic coming out of your mouth. How about considering how you even became the mistress of this household in the first place before spitting out bulls.h.i.+t that n.o.body would agree to? As for you Karen, whether you are innocent or guilty for what you've done, that's something you and I both know. I have nothing else to say to you."
"How dare you falsely accuse Karen? It doesn't even make s.h.i.+t sense! Why would she even drug you and Tian Yuo when they were getting engaged that night, huh?! Answer me! What kind of woman would destroy their happiness with their own hands like a game of Tic Tac Toe, three in a row? Hmmm? Can't answer it? Because you are the person behind the drugging!"
Liang Yu Qing was short of breath after screaming out all her frustration that her head started feeling dizzy. Just as she had done her job shouting like a hooligan, two familiar figures stood by the door in their business suits. Everyone shuts their mouths instantly as their eyes concentrated on Yin Zin Leung and Tian Yuo.
