Jack's eyes shot open, he felt Ca.s.sandra moving up against him. His attention drifted down to her as she was unconsciously nibbling on his coat. Pursing his lips at this, he would sit up, not waking her up in the process.

With her seated in his lap, he would slowly pry her delicate lips off of the article of clothing.

All he was getting was little groans in return.

His eye twitched slightly as he would lightly push at her face, her teeth sinking into the fabric, denying him a peaceful resolution. Shaking his head slightly, his hand would move up her back slowly, before knotting into her hair and pulling.

"Aaaaaaah!" Ca.s.sandra's eyes flew open as her arms flailed from his chest, "What!? Why?!" She poked her tongue out of her mouth a few times. Blinking as she calmed down rather quickly, the taste in her mouth was a bit strange.

Jack's gaze was out right blank, he had no words. His eyes trailed down the front of her for a moment before nudging her off his lap and standing up from the bed.

"Is it time to resurrect the hostages?" She'd ask as she would slip off the side of the bed, casually walking up to him with an excited smile across her lips, her pearly whites clearly seen.

Jack just looked her over for a moment before shrugging, "You mean your people, right?"

Ca.s.sandra was quiet for a few seconds, only to shrug back at him.

He'd just shake his head again as he made his way down to the first floor of the tower along the surface of the wall. He then walked over to the human corpses which were piled on top of each other in the corner.

"What're you going to do with the Elf corpses by the way?" Ca.s.sandra asked as she pointed towards the elves which were also piled on top of one another in the opposing corner.

"Hm… Probably turn them into Flesh Golems, or resurrect them later on."

She raised a brow at his response, not understanding the idea of resurrecting them. "Flesh Golems?" She didn't know that one could make golems out of corpses.

"It's essentially animating a corpse the same way one animates a golem, an alternative to making homunculi or straight up using necromancy." Jack informed as he separated the two human corpses and sat either of them up against the wall before hovering his hands over either one of them with his spear held horizontally.

Casting the 『Resurrection』spell twice, on the two different targets, the bodies would glow a sickly green, bubbles of magical energy raising from their bodies and dissipating in to the air. It was a lesser version of True Resurrection which brings the targets back with only half of their vitality.

Within seconds the two guards would be opening their eyes and gasping for air. One of them doubled over and hurled their last eaten meal before their untimely death just hours ago.

"What the h.e.l.l..." The other one mumbled as they held their stomach, trying not to let the contents leave as they attempted to stand. Only to fall over and curl on the ground.

These two were two macho looking men, yet they were just laying there looking all sick. "Hm… Seems like the human body is relatively weak at this stage stage of training," Jack chuckled at this and shook his head. He knew that thee humans were a lower level than an average player that's played for about three days.

"Looks like they're going to live," Jack took a step back and went to walk towards the elves which were in the corner of the room. His eyes resting on the dead female wood elves. All their eyes were still open as they had all died in an instant.

Their dim glowing green eyes, their brown hair and their bark colored skin stood out amongst the slate interior of the tower.

Ca.s.sandra watched him, noting his gaze. It wasn't sympathetic, but at the same time, she couldn't tell what kind of look he was giving them as he went closer to the corpses.

What happened next, she never expected. Jack didn't just take their armor, their items. He picked up the fully clothed and equipped dead elves and placed them in his inventory.

They had disappeared into thin air, as if they had never been there. They were gone.

She stood there with a dropped jaw, one of the Guards who was looking over at him from the floor, also had a mouth dropped open. None of them could say anything as the elves were gone and the only thing that was in their place was a man with six wings sticking out of his back.

"Did.. Where did you…?" Ca.s.sandra seemed to be at a loss for words.

"Stored them away, so their bodies don't decompose." Jack said as he looked over towards her with a brow raised slightly. "Makes it easier to turn them into intelligent golems."

"Intelligent…?"

"They're corpses, they can be turned into intelligent beings without extra material as long as the brain remains in tact." Jack said with a chuckle, at least that is how it went in the game if you were to kill an NPC outside of a dungeon. Though it was also the same with a player, if they wanted to become an Intelligent Golem, they'd have to die and with their permission, another affiliated player had to convert them.

It was easy as long as one was trained in the spells needed to do this.

Unlike the Homunculi, a flesh golem was much more powerful, less restricted. While they were considered sentient, their creator would be their main priority.

The only down part could be that their previous consciousness could be brought forward should someone use resurrection magic on them. Yet even if it was the 『True Resurrection』, they'd still remain under their creators control as it would just turn them into a 'Living Golem,' as it was considered a race change and not a change in character status.

Jack walked over the Guards, Ca.s.sandra following behind after retrieving her loot, as they made their way out of the tower. His wings retracting into his back, and he would place his spear back into his inventory.

For the time being, he didn't want to be running around with those sticking out casually. He wanted to actually meet people without them bowing down to him in awe right away.

That and it was rather humorous to see someone who greets him so arrogantly, to be filled with surprise that he alone was a revered species never before seen in this world by material eyes.

After another couple hours, they had gone from the North West to the North East, and were making their way towards the South East Tower.

It seemed there was no more abnormalities.

About an hour later, the two of them made their way down to the garrison building at the Southern Entry Gate.

Ca.s.sandra was letting out soft grunts, her shoulders hurting from switching where she had the 'bag' of items slung over. "Can we go back to the Castle~?" She'd whine at Jack's back.

Jack glanced over his shoulder towards her and lulled his head lazily side to side.

"Your brain is too big for me to hear it rattle," Ca.s.sandra pursed her lips as he didn't grace her with a verbal or decisive response.

"You can go home, nothing's stopping you."

"I'm not going back alone!" Huffed the girl before looking to the local commander who was standing at the main entryway a.s.sisting his men with customary inspections of carriages and people entering the walls.

"Sounds like a personal problem then," Jack could only snicker at this as he pocketed his fingers into his pant pockets, and started to walk off in a random direction.

"For someone with such almighty magic and wings, you sure are stingy..."

"Stingy?"

"Fly me back!"

"Tch, guess I'm too stingy to help you." Jack glanced away from her with a smug look on his usually stoic face. The two were walking alongside the right side of the road, in the general direction of the city's center.

"I don't mean it! Please, just bring me home so I can put this stuff down!"

Jack just looked over at her as she stopped, rubbing her shoulder with one hand while the other stuff was hanging from the cloak being used as a sack her other hand. "Why don't you ask for me to carry it for you?"

Ca.s.sandra blinked a few times before raising it to him to take.

Jack just stared down at her as she prodded it in his direction, not saying a word. "It wasn't an offer, it was a suggestion."

"Villain! Carry my things! My shoulders are tired!" Ca.s.sandra clearly whined, her legs sprung in little hops ever so slightly to appear as if she was throwing a little tantrum.

"..." Jack just stared through her now, a dark shadow looming over his face.

"...Please?" She raised her brows as she took a skittish step back, seeing the look he was giving her, she almost felt afraid of him immediately.

"Ah… So the little Lady does have manners," Jack spoke teasingly as he swiped her things from her hand with a swift movement of his hand, and put them in his inventory. "Don't expect to get them back for free though."

Ca.s.sandra blinked a few times when she just figured what he had done. "Wait... WAIT!"

He was already walking away from her with a light whistle tune leaving his lips.

Flailing her arms about, "Wait!" She darted after him, and he matched her running pace with a simple stride. Every time she went to reach out and grab his coat, he took a small leap forward only to continue at the same pace.

"Get back here you big brained vulpine!"

"Again with the name calling?" He turned to run backwards, watching as she was getting hysterical.

"Gimme my stuff back!" She looked as if she were going to be fall on her face and bite her tongue.

"Ask. Nicely." Jack made a curled in smile.

Just as her hand was about to grasp the front of his coat, he reached out and grabbed her wrist. Pulling her from her feet, his eyes drifted over towards the common people who were just watching. Surely they were amused, a taller person playing with a short n.o.ble girl.

There were plenty of smiles, frowns and annoyed expressions.

"H-hey!" Ca.s.sandra gasped as he held her a couple feet off the ground, one arm in the air.

"For someone so interested in learning magic, you don't seem to behave at all times." Jack exclaimed as he swung her around onto his back, before he let go of her arm, her hips immediately locking around his back.

A low grow emitted from her throat, similar to that of a cat, disliking the fact that she was being moved about at his will. "I'm sorry…?" Her response was less than positive, that was for sure.

"Hm… No you're not."
