They both stopped sliding when Damien was infact waiting for them.

"You b.a.s.t.a.r.d! We trusted you!" Sasha roared.

"Its all part of the game now, a game Derrick started"

"He saved Kara by killing my brother! Now the payback is simple, Kara will never have to see that b.a.s.t.a.r.d Derrick again, and on top of that, she gets to awaken fully"

"Ill make her happy, now hand her over, she belongs to me now"

"You realise youre standing infront of an amarok right?" Luna asked exposing her fangs.

"A rusty one, you haven't seen combat in a long time, ill be able to take you both on!" Damien roared and dove towards them. Luna as small and quick as she was, barely made it out of his way, but Damien's attack connected Sasha, sending both her and Kara tumbling. Luna recovered and attacked from behind, but one swing from Damien's giant paw grounded her. He was right, Luna thought, she was out of shape, she didn't have to fight, always hiding behind her t.i.tle as amarok, now a mere alpha, fighting fit, had her on the reel's. Sasha also attempted to attack, she and Damien collided and entered a maul, clawing and biting at each other, but it wasn't long and Sasha also got sent tumbling, bloodied and beaten. Now with both her girls down Luna felt helpless, how could she have let herself go like this? She felt after that one blow her body trembled, and using the water element was useless, there were no water sources close by. Damien saw the defeat in her face and smiled.

Claire had a fire going, after the bombardment from DPK she was able to survive thanks to Cleopatra's curse and dragged the three battered corpses of Seth, s.h.i.+va and Silvia away before the rescue services arrived. Now with the moon out, the regeneration was quicker, and as they regrew all the blown away parts, they also s.h.i.+fted into wolves.

"Fffuucck!" Seth roared as he came by whilst a leg was still growing back.

"Here, eat, otherwise you won't regenerate completely" Claire said holding a piece of meat out to him she got from killing a cow in a nearby field. Seth took the meat and ate it. When the women woke up she gave them meat as well, with the gained energy from eating the cow they had their wounds healed and limbs grown back.

"What the f.u.c.k hit us!?" s.h.i.+va asked.

"That was DPK" Claire said.

"What!? It felt like we got hit by a hundred men with a.s.sault rifles, and dpk are only three!" Silvia said.

"The weapon they used was a Ratel, a modified one, and it seems it has alot of firepower" Claire said blankly staring at the fire.

"The way you reacted just before they fired on us, and now, knowing what type of vehicle they use, sounds like you know a thing or two?" Seth asked.

"Yes, so now you have a way of linking me to you, Cleopatra wants to get back at Michael for the trouble he caused her, thus she sent me to aid you by reaching your goal, Michael's own son. When you are strong enough she will join you, and together you will conquer a lot of things"

"I see, so its some long lost revenge hey?"

"Then how did you end up serving her?"

"She has a technique called Anubis mummification, and im under that curse, by body has been mummified, i cant die, but im not alive either. I also dont have free will, if she gives me an order i am to follow it to the end"

"Even of it kills you?" s.h.i.+va asked but Claire looked at her with the navy blue lifless eyes.

"Im alreadg dead, the Anubis mummification holds my life force with Cleopatra, i am only a walking corpse, beating heart, warm body but no soul, half lifed"

"Something like that" Claire said standing up.

"Your strength is recovered, if we run fast now, we can make it to Pretoria before sunrise"

The three Black woves got up, and the four of them sprinted into the dark.

Damien furiously got back to his feet and faced his a.s.sailant, huffing from the pain, but as soon as he got sight of it, his ears dropped. Standing over Kara was none other than Quintin himself. Damien has never seen him before, only heard stories of this monstrous cat, the fact that he was even bigger than himself, told Damien all he needed to know about who this was.

"Scram wolf! before you end up being a stain in the gra.s.s!" Quintin roared like a lion, the sound so sheer Damien felt his heart almost stop. He backed off and gave Luna a glance "This isn't over" he mumbled and ran off.

Luna looked back at Quintin, who now looked at Kara with concern.

"Quintin! Im so sorry, i couldn't protect her"

He bent over and picked Kara up "Lets go, we need to get her back to your house"

Quintin could barely fit inside the Bently, with him, Kara and Sasha filling it up completely, Luna barely had s.p.a.ce to sit and drive, her size on the other hand just right for a car.

After an hour in that uncomfortable road trip they stopped at Luna's house. They waited for the automatic garage doors to close first before getting out. Quintin layed Kara down on her bed, then picked up a dustbin emptying its contents.

"She's going to start feeling sick soon, get her some water"

Luna went to the kitchen and got a gla.s.s.

"What do you mean she's going to be sick?" Sasha asked, still focused and amazed by how big Quintin is.

"Im not sure myself, but whatever that brown wolf did, its not working in his favour at all"

Seth arrived at Michael's house just before the sun rose, he saw the alarm light but knew all he needed to do was get in the house, his parents would never bother changing the code to deactivate it. He ran up to the dront door, ripped off the safety gate and kicked the door down, the alarm had a thirty second relay, it gave him enough time to disarm it.

Now scanning the house the four wolves inspected everything, and on the table by the landline Seth saw a piece of paper containing a name and number.

"Where to!?" Luna asked.

Quintin headed straight to Maxwell's house and kicked his doors down, Maxwell came out of his office angered.

"Who dares kick my doors... Saber!?"

Quintin lept up to him and grabbed him around his throat.

"Listen Browning! You called Seth here and told him of Kara! Now you'll hold your word! You keep her away from Seth for as long as it takes Seth to get to Derrick, if Seth gets to Kara before he gets to his brother! I will come for you!"

"Yes! Yes as you wis.h.!.+"

"And so much as touch Luna and Sasha! And your whole clan dies with you!"

"Yes! Ok ill keep them safe!" Maxwell choked.

Quintin came down and placed Kara in Sasha's hands, then took the bucket of blood.

"Listen, i have to test who bit Kara before, its important that we know. Ill be back soon" Quintin said leaving. Sasha and Luna glared at Maxwell.

"You utter swine" Luna said.

"Blame me later, for now we must get you three to safety, come!" Maxwell said heading down the stairs, then under the staircase opened another door that headed underground, after unlocking a large vault door, he let them in.

"This is a safe room, no smell comes in or out, no wolf can pick up your aura. And no wolf can break down this door, remain here, it has a supply of food and water" Maxwell said. The room was fitted with beds a bathroom, and even a small kitchen.

"Im sorry for misleading you, i only wanted to get back at Derrick"

"Whatever just f.u.c.k off!" Luna yelled.

Maxwell closed the vault door and locked it, smiling.

"Got you"
