CronoOver 16 Chapter 16

-As the sun rose over the horizon, birds could be heard singing their songs and the loud play of a cat and dog outside was so loud that it could wake up all of the neighbors, but there were no neighbors in neighborhood, the only thing there was is a hotel, but not even the cat and dogs fight could wake up the person sleeping inside, it was Sarah, of course, she had an exosting few days so the deep sleep was needed.

-unfortunately, her sleep was interrupted with a loud doorbell ring, on the front door of her room the usual mailman had left a package with her name on it. Needing to wake up and leave the bed it was a nuisance but she had a pretty good idea what it was, so it was no problem getting up.

"Ding Dong!"

"...Ahhh, so early, I know the earlier the better but it's only five-thirty."

-Putting on her bathrobe, while still having bed hair she slowly made her way to the door.

-While walking she started to be as quiet as possible to not wake up Rin who was sleeping in his room down the corridor. Arriving in front of the door she opens it to find quite a big box in front of her, not expecting it to be as big, she just stood there before taking it inside. The package was heavy no doubt but with some effort, she managed to drag it inside.

"It's bigger and heavier then I thought, now to open it up."

-Just as she was expecting the package was full of books and study materials, going through English, math, history, art, etc. for all the grades he missed. Being only five forty-five in the morning she thought to her self that" it was to early to wake him up" that "he would surely need more sleep" so she decided to go back to bed, but before going a low noise went thro her ear, she thought she must have imagined it, but no, as she became more and more awake she could tell that there was a noise definitely coming from Rin's room.

-Being worried she started to walk towards his room and arriving in front of it, she opened the door only to find Rin in his pants s.h.i.+rtless and covered in bandages doing pushups on the floor.

"236...huh, 237...huh, 23.."

"What are you doing!"

-Barging in his room she was surprised and angry at the sight she saw.

"The Doctor said you shouldn't train, that your body is in critical condition!"

-Surprised to see her, Rin stops doing the push-ups and stands up, hearing her words but not wanting to stop training he tells her that his body is alright now, that the pain and weakness went away some time ago.

"Don't "The pain went away some time ago" me!"

I can't stop training, I need to get stronger even if it hurts, even if it destroys my body for him im willing to go that far!

"Honestly it doesn't heart and I need to get stronger, for my friend so please!"

-Sanding there in silence she reminiscent of the talk she had with August a few hours ago.

He told her about everything Rin has told them as well as not to do anything that could heart him mentally, so she asked him.

"Are you sure it doesn't hurt anywhere, im worried you know!"

"It doesn't, by some miracle my body has healed already, must be becouse of Doctor's ability."

I know that I shouldn't allow this but if he says it's fine then I guess its alright, he knows best how his body feels so G.o.d, please tell me Im not making the wrong decision.

"If you say that your body is in no pain then I will allow slight exercise, but no training with waits or heavy things is that clear!"

"Of course, thank you, auntie!"

-All sweety from doing push-ups and with a smile on his face he hugs Serah tightly, being as he was she exepted the hug from him for a few seconds before pus.h.i.+ng him off of herself becouse of all the sweet.

"Ok, that's enough hugging, go wipe the sweet off and come to the living room, your study materials have arrived."

-He took a towel that was lying down on the floor and wiped his sweet of with it while responding.

"They have, that was fast!"

"Not only that but the exam dates have been set as well, want to go take a look?"

"Yes gladly, bug give me just a minute I need o get dressed first, so you go ahead."

"Ok, I'll start unpacking then."

-Leaving his room and closing the door he just stood there silently for a few seconds waiting until she went far away from the door. As soon as he couldn't hear her anymore he just fell to the ground on his knees holding his chest with one hand and the floor to support himself with the other.

-It was clear that his body did not recover at all, even while doing the pushups he could fell his body going against his will to train, but that didn't stop him, that hug he gave her seemed to be the final bullet it seemed.

s.h.i.+t, doing the push-ups alone was hard enough when I gave auntie that hug my body just discovered a whole new meaning of pain, but I can't show her that. If I do she won't allow me to train so just suck it up.

"Cough, cough, cough,"

"Anyway, need to find a s.h.i.+rt, I haven't seen anything so pretty or soft in my life just what kind of fabric is this."

-While going through the closet, every piece of clothing was different, all of them were pretty just the type of clothes a boy his age would wear, not too colorful nor with any additional readings, there were many collars going from bright red to dark black, and the material was unlike any other, it was soft and worm just perfect for the body.

-From all the clothes in the closet he chose a black t-s.h.i.+rt, having his pants already on him he closes the closet and takes a deep breath before leaving his room.

"Now pretend as nothing happened."

-He opened his door and left the room, slowly making his way to the living room where Serah had already opened the package with the books and was organizing them my the years.

"Are those it?"

-He asked her when entering the living room and sitting next to Serah on the sofa in front of which was a table and a big pile of books on top of it. He took a math book and opened I up, looking through the pages while thinking is silence.

It doesn't seem too hard, some of the things in here I already have a grasp of, so Two weeks should be enough to learn all of this, and if the other books contain even more materials that I know it should take even less time.

"Ah, sorry didn't notice you, It's just, I feel like a real mom that is preparing his son for school so Im

excited and happy and, and hahaha."

-Unable to hold in her happiness she let out laugher, it wasn't becouse Rin said or did something funny but becouse of how happy she felt at that moment, but on another hand, Rin couldn't feel that happiness.

-It wasn't like he didn't want to laugh with her, or that he hated it, it just didn't feel right, that feeling in his heart, a feeling of guilt and exaity, no matter how hard he would try he couldn't laugh or smile "just becouse" anymore.

-He thought that if Alexander couldn't smile like that anymore then why should he be able to, thinking like that made his judgments even more blinded and distorted then before.

-So he just sat there in silence going through the books one by one with a gloomy and depressing aura around him.

-Noticing that she stops laughing and stand up from the sofa while stretching her arms in the air.

"Well in the envelope it saz that you have three weeks before the tests so we should get started, but before that, I was thinking of making us breakfast so... would you like helping me?"

-Even an infant could see just how happy she was, wanting to cook with her son, spending some time together and bonding was all she wanted, but Rin had other ideas.

"Im sorry im not a good cook so I wouldn't be much help, I'll just go to my room and start studying by my self."

"oh...ok then..."

-All disappointed from his decline she felt down, the bonding time she thought they were going to have was nothing but a delusion and what more he wants to study alone and not together, her morning was ruined so she went to her room to change and then start cooking, at least she could cook him some breakfast as a mom.

-On the other hand, Rin who was going to his room was looking at a piece of paper that was on the tower of books he was holding in his hands, the paper he was looking at was a sheet with the dates and things that were going to be on the exam.

So I have three weeks until I have to take the exam for the grades I missed and a week after that If I pa.s.s them the entrance exam for the Magicians high will begin, It will take place in a local school nearby and the teachers from the high school will examen me through veracity of tests, to find out if im suited to enter their highschool.

And there are no redoings, if I mess up if I get a single question wrong I fail and will need to retake the years I lost in middle school, huh as if that would happen, but if I fail the magician's high entrance exam I will be allowed to try another school.

-Opening the door of his room, he enters and leaves the books on the table next to his bed, he takes the chair out and sits down opening the book, putting on gla.s.ses that were on his table and starts studying.

-And as such, days pa.s.sed one by one and the prosses repeated its self, getting up in the morning around four and training for two hours, then taking a shower and start studying, every morning Serah would come in his room asking him if he needed something or if he could help her out but every time he declined her. He would eat breakfast then go back to studying then eat lunch and study, then dinner and study, after ten he would go to sleep or at least try to, not being able to fall asleep because of the nightmares of the OverWorld and Alexanders death he would lay there until he fell asleep.

-And so ten days pa.s.sed, Rin was finally finished, he learned everything there was in the books, now the only priority was Little star, during his fight with Hora he used up all of his energy and now he was empty.

"Now what should I do about you, for the past ten days I gathered all the energy I could in this hotel but it's nowhere near enough, its around 0,001 percent of what I had in the fight with Vladimir, If I end up needing to fight someone his strength again I need more power."

-Leaving his room quietly, it was one in the morning so he was silent not to wake up Serah who was sleeping in her room, or at least she was supposed to. While leaving his room and going into the living room he saw Serah, her hair all messy, wearing gla.s.ses dressed like a worn-out worker sleeping on the table there. She was surrounded by paper and pens, sketches all around her, it seems she was drawing. Seeing that sight Rin returned to his room and took his blanket from his bed and covered her up.

-He dressed warm, leather boots, black jeans, and a black s.h.i.+rt followed with a long west that reached till his knees and a pair of gloves, he wrapped his sword with a blanket just in case of trouble.

-Still covered in bandages and his eye shut he slowly unlocked the door with his spare key, left the apartment and relocked the door, exiting the hotel ground he made his way to the near city he remembers pa.s.sing by while they were driving.

"There are a lot of people here, Little star can take energy from old things or things that contain a lot of energy but it cant take it from living things."

-Pa.s.sing by the side of the street his hand grazed the walls of the building, taking the energy of the bricks and stone it was built out of, but it still wasn't enough.

Even this has so little energy, just how old was OverWorld if one rock there is like fifty building here.

-Not paying attention to where he was going Rin b.u.mped into an older guy, dressed quite poorly he had evil and dirty expressions on his face and he wasn't alone one more person was next to him, a man and his expression was just as dirty as his friends.

"Aw, kid look where your walking, haven't your parents thought you any manner?"

"Hey look Bob isn't he dressed pretty expensive for his age?"

"Your right must be some rich pigs boy, hey I have an Idea lets go in the ally so you can repay us for the injury you caused me."

"hahaha hahaha yeah yeah!"

-The person named Bob grabbed Rin by his arm and threw him into the alleyway, they were far from the streets now and there were no people nearby, the two men thought they could rob him and get some quick cash but they were mistaken.

-Slowly starting to get back on his feet while the two men approached, he took a stance and in a flash.

"Long sword style second stance!"

-He rushed through them, cutting them like b.u.t.ter, swinging his blade up and down he got rid of their blood and shelved it once again, behind him he notices a shadow moving, not sure what it was he just didn't take I as an enemy.

-Realizing that people are going to gather after someone finds their body he jumps up the walls and escapes to the rooftops of the building some distance from the scene.

"It seems my body has recovered quite good in the past few days, im not at a hundred percent yet but soon."

-Sitting down on the edge of the building he admired the scenery, it was beautiful the night and the city lights, even if the city had sc.u.m like those two, not everyone is like them.

"Good evening my young fellow!"

-Suprised from the sudden presence appearing from behind him, just a moment ago he couldn't see anyone there and now a person wearing a white mask with white hair slicked backward and wearing a what would seem to be a barmen outfit was standing there greeting him.

-Putting his hands on his sword, while his arms s.h.i.+vered, the aura coming from this man was the same as Vladimir's if not grater, he was overtaken by his presence.

"Who are you?"
