Looking on at her Status page, Elizabeth sighed. 'Three days have come and gone, so it's time to head back to Earth again…' After heavily focusing on developing her s.p.a.cetime Affinity and following closely with her Blazebreeze Affinity, Elizabeth managed to make rather impressive gains for someone who only spent three days cultivating within a cultivation spot that didn't extend to any of those types of energies.
Moreover, as she hadn't spent all her time solely on cultivation and had taken a couple of instances during these three days to come up with and improve a couple of new incantation styles while also cultivating her body, it spoke volumes of what could have been gained if she had focused on just one aspect of her training.
Still, even if she would depart temporarily from her comfy spot and miss out on a bit of cultivation, Elizabeth wasn't too upset. As everything was slowly reaching her level, her terrifying momentum whilst improving was finally beginning to slow down. Thus, as the slow and deliberate path of cultivation was edging closer, she didn't feel as if she would be missing out as much as three days ago.
After bidding farewell to any of the others in the Base Camp that were out of cultivation, Elizabeth teleported back to Earth. Only Liam, Yrre, and her Tamed Beast saw her off as the others were busy with their own training; either cultivating their power or practicing their secondary occupations.
Appearing once more in the hotel room her father had arranged for her to stay at, Elizabeth first pulled up her phone to call Kurt. "Ay, it's been three days. Where are we at?" Clearly, she didn't expect for everything to already be prepared as three days was the original estimate. In reality, however, she had severely underestimated Kurt's connections and means. Not only was everything set up, but it was set up in a manner even more ridiculous than Elizabeth imagined.
"Ellie? We've already set everything up, and the audition is set to start at 1700 hours." With a very business-like tone, Kurt formally replied.
"Wait… It's already set up?! And It'll start in just over five hours?"
"Right. I used the footage of the videos of you using your Ice Magic on the Beast Hawk from three days ago, to start an advertising campaign in over a hundred countries. Over all sorts of news outlets and the internet, we announced that those that wanted to try out for your cla.s.s could visit most Factions under the Martial Society to have their affinities a.s.sessed. Those that met the conditions we discussed previously have already started being flown here from all over the world."
"Ok… So, where exactly are we holding the audition?"
"Well, since we're already in Tokyo, I designated the audition site to be here in j.a.pan. I'll send you the details through a text." Thus, with everything sorted out, Kurt hung up the phone.
Perplexed, Elizabeth put her phone down and sighed. 'Good grief…' She had five or so hours to kill and since Kurt would probably take a while writing out all the details she would need for the audition, Elizabeth gave herself another break. This time, she didn't go to the TV; at least not immediately. Instead, it was off to the bathroom.
It had been a while since she had a shower or bath. Though the action could be considered superfluous, as she could just use Neutral or even Fire Magic to rid her skin and clothes of any impurities. She still longed to clean herself as she used to before she possessed all the Magic and abilities of the present Elizabeth.
However, even if she was going to bathe herself — as unnecessary as the action was — she went about the event in a "creative" way. First of all, she didn't take off her clothes as her Transillusionary Return Enchantment took care of that for her. Next, she didn't use the water from the hotel's bathroom to clean herself. Instead, she took to manifesting water with her Manifest Incantation, if only to see if it would really work with an energy she didn't have an affinity for; it did.
"Manifest: Water," Elizabeth muttered as she imagined a ma.s.s of water before her. Although it took a ridiculous amount of Inner Strength to create water, for the amount it did, Elizabeth succeeded in materializing a bath's worth of water. Alas, it was cold. But, with her Touch of Temp Innate Skill and Good-tier Fire Affinity, by the time half her foot had entered the bathtub, the water was steaming.
As Elizabeth sunk into a comfortable position, she closed her eyes and enjoyed the break within her tub of warm water. She stayed like that for what had to be three or four minutes before a beep from her phone dragged her out of serenity. With her eyes snapping open, she reached out of the tub and picked up her phone before reading through the information.
A sigh escaped her mouth as she put her phone away after reading through Kurt's text. For a couple more minutes, she stayed in the tub delighting in the pleasurable warmth. She didn't really think about anything as she stayed there, but at some point in time, she consciously realized that there had been a mirror on the ceiling.
"Mhmm… Is that what I look like?" Subconsciously, she asked aloud. Since her transformation, this was only the second time that she had seen herself completely bare; the first time being when she was still in her original house. The reason she had asked was because of how striking the difference was when compared to before.
Gone was the "normal" Elizabeth that only looked like a regular, yet attractive, young woman, and in her place was a fit G.o.ddess; one who looked unnaturally cold and intimidating. It would be a lie to say that her charm had diminished when she gained a fit body with toned muscles and sharpened facial features. But, there was an air about her that screamed, "dangerous."
Even Elizabeth herself, who knew for a fact that all these changes had occurred as she monitored her cultivation and progress, expressed shock. After taking in her own surface-level appearance all at once, she could only recall how she looked right after transforming and compare it to now. Upon escaping her stupor, Elizabeth departed from the bathtub. After leaving the water to drain, she went over to the full-body mirror that was by the end of the bathroom and started fumbling with her hair as she looked at herself.
"Mhmm… What the f.u.c.k am I doing?" She asked no one in particular, as her clothes rematerialized after she used Fire Magic to dry herself off. Her hair was arranged in a simple bun-style that Yrre had taught her during the brief period of time they had discussed ways for her to seem more feminine; before she knew her parents would so easily detect her transformation at the Wus.h.i.+ Tournament.
"Hahaha, you look like some sort of elementary school teacher." While she was laughing at Ellie's sudden attempts to make herself up, Lisa was also in the midst of self-pity as Elizabeth was technically her corporeal form as well. How sad is it for a fabled Ancient G.o.dslayer Fiend to be making up her hair and check out her own body? She should be embroiled in a never-ending war for power and conquest, not playing around in a bathroom… At least, that was how she internalized the situation. Alas, she was but an incarnation to the actual owner of the body.
Without a word, Elizabeth ignored the literal devil within her Soul Land and walked out of the bathroom.
