Eternal Love 12 First Day Outside

Getting to the gates of his father's mansion, Leo made a slight pause, took in a deep breath, then walked out. Edward, who was watching his son, said in a low tone to himself, be careful son.

Leo had walked a short distance. On his way, he had seen people doing trade of some sort. Although Leo hadn't been out of his mansion, he had read different books pertaining to the world and people in it. He had a view of how people lived in the society from the books he had read. If you are a nice person, people will surely take advantage of you one way or the other. If you are a menace, well, no one likes a.s.sociating with trouble. Leo would only interfere with matters concerning him when he's outside. He saw an inn and walked into it. Seeing a kid who was probably 10 or so years old walking into the inn, everyone stared at him. Not minding the stares, Leo sat on a chair and a waiter walked up to him.

Waiter: hey kid, did you lose your way?

Leo: (not answering the question) Give me food to eat. I want the very best of your delicacies.

Waiter: (throwing a mocking smile) Sureeee, and you have enough money to pay for the food?

Leo threw 10 gold coins at the waiter. Gold coins?thought the waiter. 10 gold coins could carry a commoner for a year. Seeing the indifferent look on the child's face, the waiter hurriedly apologised. He wasn't dumb to not understand that this was a n.o.bles child. Leo was served and he ate to his fill. He called the waiter to prepare a room for him to stay for the next six days. The waiter nodded. Leo was about bringing money to pay when the waiter said"its on the house sir".Leo understood perfectly. This man was trying to curry favour with him. After eating, Leo went out of the and headed deep into the town square. Various stands were erected,different goods where sold, the place was packed with people.

Walking around, he saw an auction house. In front of it was notice that read " Grand Auction tomorrow". Leo kept moving from place to place, familiarizing himself with the new environment.

Turning back, Leo saw an adventurers guild. From what he knew, except you are a high cla.s.s knight, or at the n.o.ble knight realm, you can't join a guild. And other ways of making money was by joining guilds and going on missions. Walking past the guild, Leo approached a man and said, "info for a gold coin". The man gave a big smile at the kid and said, "esteemed sir, what would you like to know?"

Leo: tell me about this place.

The man said, " this is just a town square located in our great Northstar kingdom. Although there are other smaller kingdoms within our Imperial Star continent, our kingdom is the biggest and holds the most powerful forces. Smaller kingdoms come here to do business and also, learn from us. Knights are representatives of the kingdoms power. A knight that had enough power could clear a kingdom. The difference between stages was huge. Young knights study at the kingdom's academy. To hone their skills, they go on exploration and hunting missions.

Leo: where is the nearest exploration zone?

The man replied, all exploration areas are under the control of the knights academy. Only knights acknowledged by the empire are allowed to go into the exploration areas for training. Aside that, you can go to the "Hale wood forest" and hunt for demon beast. But be careful as tje deeper you go, the more dangerous it becomes. If you successfully kill beasts of high quality, you can sell them and make more coins. Beasts from rank 3 can reason like humans. The higher the rank, the smarter the beast. After killing beast, a crystal like ball is removed from the beast's heart. That's it core. Beast cores contains the cultivation of beasts and is used by alchemist to make pills of different sort. Selling them could earn you alot.

Leo gave the man a gold coin and left his location. He went straight to a blacksmith and bought two swords. Immediately he paid for the swords, he left and walked towards an isolated alley. He stopped at the end of the alley, turned around then yelled, "aren't you tired of following me?".

Two men walked out from different corners of the alley and laughed viciously at Leo. One of the men was tall and averagely built while the other was a fat and kind of short.

Leo: what do you want esteemed gentlemen?

The fat man laughed and said to his accomplice, "look, he has manners". They kept laughing. The tall man finally answered Leo," kid, you must be wealthy enough to easily throw out 10 gold coins at a run down inn like that"

Leo: (with a smug look) as a matter of fact, I have a million gold coins with me.

Hearing the amount, both men where immediately blinded with greed. They no more thought reasonably. All they saw Leo as was a huge walking money bag and they were about to rip this money bag apart.

Leo let out a smile as the men released their mana. "mere humans at the 4th level of the squire realm, you just met your doom as I am at the 9th level and will soon advance". Leo thought. Kid, today your death will feed our stomachs for our lifetime. Just die and let's make this easy.

They launched themselves towards Leo, with knives pointed at him. Leo brought out his newly bought swords and prepared for a counter. Looking at their movements, these guys were open to so many counter. Both men had closed-in on Leo and where about to strike him. Suddenly, he disappeared from where he was standing and appeared a few metres away from them. Shock were on both men's faces. When they looked at Leo, they saw blood on both of his swords, then they saw their hands falling off their body. Ahhhhhhh, they screamed. This had happened too fast. Who is this kid? They thought.

Leo: both of you must be either stupid or extremely stupid. You didn't even notice I lead you here on purpose. Scream all you like, no one will notice. Let me tell you a secret, did you think the first born of Duke Edward, was a weakling?

The first son? *both men thought*

You are.... Before they could utter another word, Leo sliced both of their throats. He stood there for a while, looked at the dead bodies and with a cold expression on his face, he said, "so this is how it feels to take a life?"

Although, it was his first time, he didn't fret as he had promised himself that no one would take away what's his from him. He was willing to kill to achieve his goals.
