"Coming" Alex replied

As Alex opened the door both Susan and Jessica were standing in front of him. Alex was dumbstruck for a while, both of them were dressed in different ways. Susan was dressed in a flower patterned frock like dress up to her knees like the spring, her hairs were in pony tail giving the vibe of a teenage girl. On the other hand Jessica was dressed in completely white backless short dress like the winter her hairs were in Braid Twisted Bun which gave her a matured look. But since Alex has a pure ❤ he soon recovered from his surprise, and saw both Susan and Jessica blus.h.i.+ng, without thinking much about it he welcomed them inside.

Both Susan and Jessica curiously looked around the house. The house was fully decorated for celebration.

"Both of you came a bit early, I didn't expect that" Alex asked casually.

"It's all because of Susan she was pestering me to drive here early" Jessica replied without giving Susan a chance to reply.

"--"Susan looked shocked.

"Well it's good this way I was feeling bored all alone" Alex couldn't help but smile.

"Did you decorate the house for celebrating your appointment?" Susan asked s.h.i.+fting the topic.

"No today's my mom's birthday too"

"Oh.. So where are they?" Jessica asked.

"Well I messaged dad about the plan he will be here by 8" Alex replied leading them to the living room.

"We didn't bring any presents you should have told us" Susan asked hesitatingly

"Well that is not an issue, my mom does not care about that too much even I didn't bring any gifts for her on my behalf" Alex replied in a relax manner.

"So is there anything you need help with?"

"Not really the dinner is made, the decorations are done"

"You can let us know if you need any help"

"Just help me serve the food later"

"Sure"

At the same time

Ding!! Dong!!

"I guess they are here" Alex sounded excited.

Outside

"Why did you ring the bell can't we just go in directly?" with a confused look Martha asked.

"You see I don't have the keys" George replied

"But I have them step aside let me open the door" Martha said pus.h.i.+ng George

"Why are you in such a rush let's wait here, see the night sky is so beautiful" George pulled Martha

stopping her from opening the door

"Tell me what's going on?" Martha asked with irritation

Suddenly the house went dark and the door opened. Alex invited both Martha and George inside, Martha was in the front and Alex and George in the back.

"Why are the lights off, what are both of you up to?" Martha asked looking at the fishy actions of both her husband and son.

"Nothing mom I guess there is some electrical fault, you go ahead dad and I will check it out" Alex replied and pulled his father to the side.

"Dad did you buy any gift for Mom?" Alex Asked in a stern manner.

"That's what I wanted to talk about with you, you see.." George started to reply shuttering

"Don't say anymore, I knew it just go to your room I have already prepared a gift but I don't know whether it would be to her liking or not" Alex as if knew it interrupted his father.

"You are my savior son and you don't worry about it, gift may not be expensive but it should have the feelings showing someone how much you care about them and we know how much you love us" George replied with a smiling face.

"It is natural you saved my life when we had no relation and later adopted me, I can't repay the kindness you have showed me my whole life" Alex replied in a gratified manner.

"Don't spoil the mood talking like that you are our son nothing else I hope you understand that, now leave it and show the surprise" George patted Alex shoulder

"Sure" Alex smiled.

"Happy Birthdayyyyyy!!!!" as soon as Martha reached the living room the light lit up and balloons and crackers busted.

Bang!! Bang!!

"Aaahhhhh!!" Martha cried out of shock.

"Hahaha… Happy Birthday mom!!" Alex wished Martha cheerfully.

"Happy Birthday honey" George too wished her.

"Happy Birthday auntie" Both Jessica and Susan wished Martha.

"Thank you Alex! Thank you darling!" Martha replied smiling ear to ear, it was a great birthday surprise for her probably the best till date.

"Alex who are these beautiful ladies your girlfriends? But aren't you a bit greedy? Two girlfriends hehehe..." George asked Alex with a meaningful smile.

"Really Alex?" Martha cried out in shock but joy was evident from her face.

"What the h.e.l.l both of you talking about can't you be serious?" Alex shouted hiding his embarra.s.sment.

Listening to both George and Martha, both Susan and Jessica couldn't help but look towards Alex blus.h.i.+ng.

"Ok now seriously won't you introduce us?" Martha asked

"You see I got the job today, thanks to dad and Susan and Jessica are my co-workers they helped me a lot today" Alex replied briefly without narrating anything about what hapoened after the interview, the reason was simple he didn't want to worry them

"h.e.l.lo uncle, h.e.l.lo auntie" Both the girls greeted in unison.

"Alas.. how good it would be if one of you become my son's girlfriend" Martha expressed her desire.

"Mom" Alex protested.

"Ok I won't be saying anymore" Martha laughed at her son

"Let's go mom I have prepared dinner for everyone" Alex hurried his mom towards the dining table

"Well if you prepared the dinner it's going to be good, let's hurry"

During dinner everyone appreciated Alex's culinary skills, Alex prepared a wide range of dishes all of which were Martha's favorite. All of them stuffed their stomachs as if there was no tomorrow. While having dinner all of them chatted merrily. After dinner everyone moved to the living room. To Alex's surprise his dad did bring a gift for his mother. Thinking about how in order to save his father he prepared the gift with so much difficulty, Alex shot an angry gaze towards his father. George bought a beautiful diamond pendant for Martha, everyone appreciated the gift. Seeing everyone's response towards the gift Alex thought his gift was inferior.

"Alex didn't you bring gift for you mother?" George asked with a smile.

"Yes" Alex couldn't help but reply with a twitched smile.

"Then show us"

"Let me bring it" Alex walked towards his parent's room and soon came back with a portrait.

"Here" Alex handed the portrait to Martha.

"This…" Looking at the portrait Martha's eyes glued to it.
