"Piiiiiiiii" a sharp whistling sound echoed through the forest.
In just a few minutes, rustling noises could be heard gathering towards the location where the whistling noise originated from.
"Send a bird to the lord, inform him we have found the entrance to the dungeon." The leading goblin knight commanded it's hobgoblin direct subordinate.
"Yes sir, it shalt be done." the hobgoblin replied, as it begin chanting a spell. Not long after a little bird flew down towards it and landed on it's shoulders. After whispering some words to the little bird, the little bird took flight and disappeared into the night sky.
This group of goblins that had gathered were all mounted on wolves, it seems like they were the cavalry for their army. These goblins were much more geared compared to the previous group that attack the dungeon. All of them were equipped with iron weapons and had full sets of leather armor with some iron equipments here and there. Half of the goblins in the group are the evolved hobgoblins.
"Send a group minor to scout the inside, while another group minor to patrol the area, inform me when there is adventurers nearby. The rest will rest up here in the clearing." the goblin knight commanded.
(Group minor : 3 units)
"Yes sir." the hobgoblin replied after receiving the orders.
~~~~~
The group minor broke off from the cavalry platoon and headed into the dungeon. The group minor consist of 1 hobgoblin (leader) and 2 goblins.
"This is different from the report, there was no swamp in the report, it was solid ground." the leading hobgoblin said, when it saw 2 skeletons harvesting something in the swamp from a distance.
"Clear the area!" the leading hobgoblin commanded as they rushed towards the nearest skeleton.
Before the skeleton could react, it was sent flying, though it wasn't instantly destroyed, it got up and tried to retaliate, but it wasn't geared to fight against cavalry. The other skeleton saw what happened and retreated back to the portcullis.
Seeing that it's goblin subordinate could handle the skeleton they were attacking, the hobgoblin rushed towards the escaping skeleton. The escaping skeleton manages to run into the portcullis, the hobgoblin followed closely behind as the skeleton seems weird because no sp.a.w.ner monsters would retreat, he was afraid that the skeleton might go get reinforcement as there were only three of them currently in the dungeon.
As the hobgoblin reach the portcullis, it had a tingly feeling that something was wrong, but it still risked it and went through the portcullis as it only see one escaping skeleton heading towards the door. He managed to pounced onto the skeleton when it was in the middle of the main hall. He smiled gloatingly when he managed to stop the skeleton.
All of a sudden the metal gate dropped down and locked the hobgoblin in the main hall. The hobgoblin turned around to take a look, but before it could do anything, it was strike off it's mount from the back. It's mount started growling at the statues around them, as they begin flapping their wings and flew straight up, joining the first gargoyle who strike the hobgoblin who is circling their prey at the moment.
"ARGHHH" the hobgoblin shrieks echoed throughout the first dungeon.
Hearing it scream, it's goblin subordinates that had already taken care of the skeleton in the swamp rushed over immediately only to get stuck outside the metal gate. They took out their iron weapon to smashed against the iron gates, however to their dismay it didn't seem to budge.
Hearing the banging on the iron gate, the hobgoblin forces itself to stand up. A whimpering noise could be heard beside it, as it's wolf mount was being swarmed by the gargoyles. The hobgoblin took out it's weapon and jumped towards the wolf while swinging the weapon wildly.
Whenever the hobgoblin swings it's weapon, the gargoyle would take flight to get out of it's range and constantly hara.s.s with every opportunity they could get. After minutes of hara.s.sment, the hobgoblin begin to look tired, while it's wolf mount was in a puddle of blood.
While watching everything unfold through the iron gates, the goblins on the outside didn't noticed the approaching zombies from behind. They were immediately pulled off their mounts, but one of them managed to rolled away. Seeing what is happening the goblin who was lucky, turned around and abandoned it's own mount and it's colleague, it ran towards the entrance of the dungeon.
But to it's dismay, a water bullet shot through it's leg causing it to limped on one side. It turned it's head to looked as multiple arrows and water bullets flew towards its direction. The goblin that was stuck in the swarm wasn't much better off, it had multiple bite marks and was bleeding profusely, but it wasn't going down without a fight, it managed to knocked off one of the zombie's head. The wolf mounts weren't in a better position either, they were trying to claw and bite back at the zombies.
When they managed to crawl out of the zombie swarm, what greeted them was arrows and water bullets from behind. Whimpering noises sounded out from the wolves as the arrows and magic projectiles pierce them and they let out their last cries.
The hobgoblin was on it's knees, as the wooden door in front of him opened, a few skeletons came walking out from it, realizing it was hopeless, it loosen it's grip of it's weapon.
"Take it to the jail where the other goblin is kept." A ghastly voice resounded around him.
The skeletons moved beside it and grab it by the arms before dragging it towards the door. Before it totally black out, it heard four loud thuds landing behind it.
~~~~~~
"Well done, continue what you were doing." the ghost said to the gargoyles as they slowly turned back into stones.
"Mr ghost, we managed to kill those goblins before they escape." Tempest jumped down to the main hall from the ledge.
"Good thing, chibi came to inform us." the ghost felt relieved.
"So what are we going to do with that big fella?" Tempest asked.
"Hmm, once it is awake we will go interrogate it like we did for the goblin." the ghost replied. "Oh, so how's the weapon on live targets?"
"This gun is pretty amazing, though if they are quite a distance away I might miss by an inch of hair, but overall it's very accurate, much better than the staff. Once I get the hang of it, I would hardly miss." Tempest replied the ghost.
The next moment, the iron gates that were shut closed lifted up, the ghost walked towards the zombies who were consuming the dead wolves and goblins. He did a head count before summoning to replenish the numbers. After they were all summoned, he get them to burrow at the same location. Next he tasked the skeletons to clear the dead bodies and bring it to the graveyard floor, before getting them to continue what they were doing.
The ghost summoned another two skeletons to replace the ones that were lost in that fight and had them equipped what their predecessors were using.
After everything was over, the ghost and Tempest teleported back to the dungeon master room. Tempest headed to the training room to continue her practice, while the ghost begin checking the status of those who were involve in the fight.
