The spell felt like a truck running over them, at full speed. With close to no preparation, this was very dangerous for both Dorian and the Captain. As for the last Stinger, he was dead before the spell hit.

The Captain barely had the time to move his Life Essence from his blades to his flesh to defend himself. While fully prepared, this attack would barely hurt him, but the surprise effect was terrible.

As a result, just like the dead Stinger, he was sent flying away, colliding with a wall, his condition unknown. At least, his body didn't splatter like his subordinate.

As for Dorian, he trusted his Vitality of 30, he probably could take this spell on without getting that much of an injury, but he would rather not take any chance and used his Life Essence for the first time in the fight.

He had already tried it before, to familiarize himself with it. So his Life Essence flowed smoothly and protected his whole body.

Because of this, the spell barely scratched him when it hit him, though the force still sent his small body flying.

But Dorian was able to land on his feet, not getting any damage. With a quick look to his HP, Dorian saw that the spell had only taken 3 HP from him, less than a hundredth of his total HP.

Moreover, with his Low Regeneration, those HP would be regenerated in no time. But he didn't expect Lucie to do this.

Although they had an argument before and didn't really hit it off together, that wasn't enough to kill someone. Moreover, he had just saved her husband's life before. Although with his strength, Charles wasn't in any danger, Dorian still made the effort.

But it didn't seem to matter to her. So right now, Dorian didn't care Charles was his friend, he was gonna kill that b.i.t.c.h.

But as he looked at her, he was shocked by what he saw. Charles was standing behind her, with a frosty face. Lucie had blood trickling down er mouth, as she was looking down in horror at the blade going through her body.

She recognized this blade, it was her husband's. She tried griped it, but Charles took it back and pushed her body. Lucie's mind and both stopped working at this moment, as she fell to the ground.

Charles didn't even give her corpse a second look, he walked over to Marcus' side, who was laughing out loud.

Looking at the two enemies next to each other, Dorian would never have thought Charles could betray Lucie like that. Neither did she looking at her agonizing face.

With a weak voice, Lucie called out "Charles… look at me." Charles did so, and the two locked eyes without a word.

After a moment, Lucie's life faded away.

Dorian heard rocks being moved, and looked at the origin of the sound. There, he saw the Captain was pus.h.i.+ng rocks off of himself, rising up from the ground.

His left hand was turned into a weird angle, but other than that he didn't seem to have any other injuries.

His previously calm face had now disappeared, and panic had appeared. The situation was terrible for him, if the three were to team up he absolutely wouldn't have any chance.

So he was already preparing to run, among those present, he was undoubtedly the fastest. But before he could, Marcus said "The plan went well… Should I call you smart or vicious?"

Charles ignored his question and said "Do you have the artifact with you?" Marcus nodded and said "I do. Shall we continue with the plan? What about the kid?"

Charles replied "He has a powerful soul too, we will sacrifice him too." Marcus shrugged and said "Whatever, I don't give a d.a.m.n about him."

Charles said "Can you take him on though?" Marcus laughed and said "What, you think a kid can beat me!"

Charles replied "Look around, he killed all the Stingers by himself, and he did so when being a.s.saulted by all of them at the same time. I fear his strength nears the third level. He has absolutely gone past level 2. Do you think you can take him on?"

Marcus frowned and said "What shall we do then?" Charles replied "Gather your guards…"

Marcus stopped him though and said "I can't, they are busy taking care of the gang soldiers. I'm the City Lord, I need my men."

Charles frowned and looked over the Captain and said "What do you think?"

The Captain frowned and said "Why would I help you? To better get killed later?" Charles looked at Dorian and said "No matter what, he will kill you. If you escape now, even if he wins he will hunt you down."

The Captain looked at Dorian and asked "Would you?" Dorian wanted to say no, but thought twice before speaking. In this city, no one is his match. But he wanted to test his all out strength, at least for once.

But he knew it was impossible, because the moment he activated his Angel skills he would get way too strong. While in the cave, he had tested it and was surprised to see that his speed didn't just get 50% faster, his Life Essence resonated with the skill and made it even better.

Adding in his 200% movement speed in a straight line, he would become so fast that ordinary people wouldn't see his shadow, and level 1 Knights would only see a blur.

So now, even if all the level 2 Knights and Lucie teamed up, if he used everything he had he would kill them all before running out of MP because of his speed.

But, fighting against three level 2 Knights at the same time, if he didn't use his bloodline skills than he could have some fun.

So, after thinking about it a little, he replied "I won't let you leave."

Even though none of the four moved, the soldiers who occasionally looked felt that their standoff was much graver than theirs, despite the lack of actual fight.

The Captain looked at Charles and Marcus and said "If we team up, what do I get? A pinky promise you won't kill me?"

Marcus replied "Name what you want."

The Captain said "I guess asking for the artifact would just be an insult… I'm asking you, what can you give me."

Marcus stayed silent and after a moment Dorian said "Can we fight? I don't mind giving you a chance but my patience has its limits."

They looked at him like he was an idiot. An arrogant idiot. And they were right about him being arrogant, Dorian knew it himself. But that was also confidence, in his attributes and skills. Sure, not leaving them any chance and killing them right away would eliminate any danger, but didn't he come here because he was bored?

He didn't want to die, but he believed that he had grown strong enough to allow himself this kind of mistake. And it wasn't even that bad, as long as he activates his skills then even if there are the three of them, they will die.

The three didn't respond to him, glad their enemy was dumb enough to let them ally. Charles said "I can give you a grade 3 armor. But for that you need to help us kill him and not fight for the artifact after. To show my sincerity, I can give it to you right now."

The Captain's eyes lit up when he heard Charles, a grade three armor was really great. Even a level three Knight couldn't pierce through it. Of course, if he was really hit by a level 3 Knight wearing this, although the armor would be fine the shock from the blows would still kill him.

But it remained a great armor. For example, Marcus' silver armor was a grade 2. So hearing his offer, he immediately agreed.

Charles walked over to his wife's body and took a ring from her fingers before putting it on. Then, a leather armor suddenly appeared in his hands. He threw it over to the Captain.

Dorian's eyes lit up when he saw this, he immediately understood that this was a spatial ring, which would be even more convenient than his spatial bag.

Upon receiving his armor, the Captain didn't put it on as he doubted Dorian would really let him.

So he took out a little purse he had and put the armor in it, which magically shrunk to enter the bag.
