Lost not quite in the hot dark of embers, but soft, dim midnight. The gloom that came just before the sunrise, a kind of darkness that helps the orange and gold blossom across the sky.
The dark that encouraged him to fall asleep as he shut his eyes, tossing and turning in a futile attempt to slip away from the depths of unconsciousness.
Blissfully unaware, a crus.h.i.+ng pain just on one side of his head that came and went in a pattern.
It made him want to pace about, but couldn't sit, couldn't lie down, or relax. As if there was an ent.i.ty in his head that was trying to break open his skull.
Gradually, the pain vanished, and slowly, he recovered his senses. He glanced around and found himself in a familiar room that he would never forget.
A mirror hanged on the wall caught his attention. He gazed at his reflection, suddenly froze there for a second. Because what he saw was a young boy, not a middle-aged man.

A chill went up to his spine; Abium knew he already dead by that demon's claw. But to his astonishment, he now stood alive, and what's more unbelievable was he looked much younger than the age before he died. He found it very hard to accept.
'Is this my old cabin? And why do I look so much younger? I should have died already, but how come I appear here?' A series of questions emerged inside his head.
Even though Abium couldn't speculate how he went back in time, the truth was right in front of him.
A glimpse of memory of his bracelet glowed at the last moments of his death came to his mind.
He remembered how he got that bracelet till now. He got it by clearing a high-level dungeon. Although he didn't remember the precise location, however, he recalled the memory of what he did to that bracelet.
In the past, he believed it's must be some high-rank artifact, but there were no magic traces found on that bracelet. So, he used a sword skill to test it, but that bracelet didn't even budge an inch.
It was so durable and didn't leave any mark of the sword cut behind. Eventually, he kept that bracelet afterward, guessing it might hold some mystic power.
Abium recalled that dungeon's history. It related to Udnir, G.o.d of Time. One of the most mysterious G.o.ds who neither had any followers nor do people pay attention to him.
Abium guessed somehow he traveled back in time because of the artifact. He shook those thoughts and considered what he must do from now on. He checked his body and sighed in relief when he noticed he didn't begin to cultivate in any path. In the past, Abium practiced the warrior cultivation technique and miserably died at the hand of a greater demon. But now he had an opportunity to correct everything.
He vowed to become stronger than anyone else. So, he didn't have to bother about anything in the future. He soon searched his memory of the new body and guessed the correct date and time.
'Easica calendar year 10291 September 3rd.'
Now it's midnight. Abium transmigrated a few hours before the departure to the royal capital. He narrowed his eyes at his current situation. His main concern was how to handle that ambush attack. And the other was how to save other servants and soldiers. He didn't want to see them dying in front of his eyes and considered changing the future a little.
He took his sword and repeated some sword movements that he learned in the past. He remembered his sword technique precisely because he modified it from an 'advanced royal sword technique.'
Abium received that advanced sword technique from the Prince for completing one of the dangerous escort missions. Prince Raollet Commissioned Abium to escort him from the Wadel Kingdom to the Peral kingdom.
At first, Abium thought it was just a regular escort mission. But later, he became panicked when he found out Wadel kingdom's a.s.sa.s.sins were after that Prince.
Abium eventually agreed after a lot of arguments. Prince also told him he would fulfill any of Abium's requests when they reached the royal capital. Only then Abium accepted that mission.
After countless struggles, both reached Royal capital.
To fulfill the promise, Prince Raollet even gave him a splendid sword technique. The sword techniques were the most priceless treasures for ordinary warriors and n.o.bles. So Abium still respected that prince for keeping his words.
Abium shook those thoughts and concentrated on using sword aura. A yellow-colored sword aura enveloped that sword, but within three seconds, he felt a crus.h.i.+ng pain all over his body.
His breath grew heavy and soon felt his head became dizzy.
's.h.i.+t! I almost used up all the mana inside my body.'
Slowly he sat down while wiping the tears that came from his eyes and cursed at his stupidity.
Soon the pain started to fade, and slowly, he got up. Although he was a master swordsman, and his understanding of the sword art was higher than any other in this kingdom, still he lacked one important thing. Mana! Practicing the sword technique consumes mana based on the type of sword aura.
He could maintain a basic sword aura for a few minutes. But he wouldn't be able to sustain an intermediate sword aura with his limited about of mana. With his experience of knowledge, Abium guessed he could only manage an intermediate sword aura for three seconds.
Not only warriors but sometimes even mages would practice sword techniques in earlier stages. Although mages would spend most of their time in spell building, you could still see them practicing swords.
Swordsman uses sword aura to fight, which was to send the mana from their body to the sword. Then it would form into a sword aura.
In this life, Abium aimed to walk on the path of mages; Otherwise, his fate would repeat like before.
To become a mage, Abium needed mana cultivation technique and spirit cultivation technique. Mana cultivation for improving the mana and spirit cultivation to increase his spiritual strength. Spirit power used for building spell models inside his mind and maintaining the spell stable.
'There is no way these n.o.bles will let me enter that magic academy. Well, for now, I must get out from here, then I will decide what to do next.'
