In a flash, Abium's figure arrived near the cobra head demon's right side. This time he didn't plan to use his sword nor sword aura. It won't do any damage at all and only wear his strength out. His eyes s.h.i.+fted towards that demon's right hand, which was shackled by an icy crystal chain and flashed in cold light.

Slas.h.!.+ Slash Slas.h.!.+

Black flesh-tearing sound echoed from the other side. You could see Lucius started attacking that cobra head demon like a madman.

'd.a.m.n! He really went on berserk mode!'

Black blood splattered everywhere whenever Lucius's long sword met that demon's body. But even with that, you would notice there was no major difference. The regeneration of that demon body made Lucius hard for him to deal more damage.

After a few seconds of reckless slashes, Lucius finally began to dismember one of the upper right limbs.

s.h.i.+EK!

It gave an angry cry.

HISSSSSS! It opened its mouth and hissed at Lucius. You could see two to three-inch poisonous fangs visible on the sides of that demon's jaw. Also, that sizeable split tongue started to move back and forth from its mouth. Abium grabbed the broadsword and held it in his hand. The demon looked at him in anger at the same time it screamed in pain.

The severed arm reappeared but met with another slash from Lucius's sword. Whenever the severed area began to grow back, a golden aura sword appeared and cut it down without any mercy.

s.h.i.+EKKK! It cried in pain and anger continuously, but that didn't stop Lucius from halting his attack. Instead, he went even fiercer.

In the meantime, Abium s.h.i.+fted his gaze towards that demon's neck and gripped that jet black broadsword tighter to attack. The broadsword was so ma.s.sive, and you could see it would be around 30 pounds. Although it was a little hard for Abium to swing like a standard weapon, he didn't felt restrain due to the enchantment in strength.

Without hesitation, he thrust the black broadsword towards its neck and tried to cut it.

Clang!

But the sword met with a loud metal clanging sound following that it's skin began to harden around its neck.

'Skin hardening. the demon is starting to use its innate spell.'

It was a rare type of innate spell only high tier demons have and use this to protect themselves from any other fatal injuries. Abium lips curved up as when Abium saw the demon was starting to get anxious inside.

It was caught off guard by that dark steel bolt and didn't expect it would be that effective. You could be only able to find these dark steel in some northern side of this continent. Also, from the way that demon acted, he was sure it didn't know anything about this dark steel. Seeing the skin hardening spell effect, Lucius also halted his attack. He looked confused.

"Your Majesty! Don't stop. Even with that skin hardening spell, our offensive attack will still work. This demon is using this spell to fool us." Although it was only half right, Abium didn't have any time to explain everything.

"Oh? You seem to know more about these creatures, kid. Are you the newly t.i.tled baron?"

"Let's do the introductions later. Your majesty."

"Hmm, got it." Next instant, Lucius's sword once again moved towards that demon.

Clang! Clang Slas.h.!.+ Stab!…

Both continued to attack that demon Susur and soon noticed the ice chain started to break.

'Not enough! I need to think of a way to kill it; otherwise, it will go on a rampage.' Abium's amber eyes searched for any weakness. His mind acted faster.

'i don't have enough mana even to use any advance level sword skills.' His eyes s.h.i.+fted to Tabitha and Former King Lucius and deeply frowned.

'They were doing their best to holding this demon here.' He felt powerless against this monster. Suddenly, His eyes noticed a figure stood behind that demon's back while placing her hand near to its leg while trembling.

'Lily?' His eyes widened, No one noticed her presence all these times, and she seems to be somewhat shaking in nervousness.

'Is she really stealing or just hide behind its body in fear?' He started to doubt what the h.e.l.l was she doing now. Finally, he gave up and chose to face reality. As the last chain was about to broke, he dashed towards her direction. Once he grabbed Lily, he backed away without hesitation.

Crack! Crack. Crack!

BAM!

"Did you get anything?" He asked her in whispers.

"Yes! But i think that lady noticed my presence." Lily's reply made his expression froze.

"Tsk. It's okay. We will negotiate with her later." Abium said then darted his eyes at that demon.

After that loud bang, all the ice chains broke into pieces. The demon Susur slowly fell on to its knees with angry red eyes. Even in the abyss, demon Susur was never once got chained by low creatures and beaten to death like this!

Black dyed blood and black flesh splattered all over the ground made it look like it had gone through an unbearable trail. It quickly picked up its dismembered hand and swallowed it without hesitation.

"f.u.c.k! It is eating its own hand!" Lily looked at that demon in disgust.

Hiss! Along with an angry look, it rose up from the ground and glared at them while panting.

's.h.i.+t! It is going to rampage!'

But before it began to go on a rampage, the water gallon from the sky fell towards that demon. Abium almost forgot there was still that gigantic ball of water floating in the sky. The demon also puzzled a little.

'Is she going to make this demon suffocate to death using that water?' Abium's eyes narrowed.

'It may be work for humans, but against demons, there is no way.' In the past, he heard rumors about these demons would be adaptive to any environment. There were some cases he heard they would survive under the seawater for days. As he was watching that water ball, his eyes soon widened. He noticed the demon running towards a different direction.

Demon Susur couldn't even have any time to rest as it noticed that the water ball was falling from the upward. It stared at that ball with wide-opened jaws while revealing it's venomous fangs to everyone. Although the demon didn't think that a giant ball of water would do any harm to its body, it sensed something was amiss.

'Why there is a mage here? d.a.m.n you, Grold.' It cursed at that informer inside it's mind. This was supposed to be a planned mission, and it's only job was to steal that stone tablet. Although it successfully took that tablet, this demon met its mortal enemy.

If this demon wants to escape from here, its only option was to stall time till that Dimensional lock spell to break. The demon quickly thought of taking out the communication orb to inform about it's job being over. It was a signal to it's partner who was maintaining the spell outside. But soon it's red pupil dilated.

'Where is that communication orb? Did I drop it somewhere? No, that shouldn't be the case.' It clearly remembered it putting that orb inside it's ring. It felt nervous feeling after a long time. But it didn't know the culprit Lily standing there while chattering with Abium. Who would believe a mortal with measly fourth-tier warrior would dare to steal things from a great demon.

Now it has only one choice. It must use those pesky humans laid there as hostages and wait for its partner to break this dimensional spell.

The demon didn't wait anymore and ran not towards them, but it flew towards the humans who were unconscious on the floor. It needed to buy time, and those humans would be the right target. Because of the loss of blood, it also needs nutrition. Otherwise, it would die in another ambush attack. Two pitiful soldiers who laid only a few meters away were the first meal to that demon.

It pounded on to one of that unconscious warrior and ripped his head using its wide snake mouth. Then it grabbed another guy to use as a meat s.h.i.+eld and munched that guy's head.

Munch! Gulp! Quickly it swallowed that guy's head and leaving the headless body on the ground. Its jaw made a wicked like smile while sneering towards them and sped even faster. Its next aim was Margery and Helena, who laid there in the ground a few meters away. Abium also didn't think that demon would be so cunning.

"Lady Tabitha, Please save them. My daughter is also there." Abium heard Lucius's panic voice. But Tabitha didn't say anything and simply watched the demon to walk closer towards Margery, Helena, and others.

When demon Susur reached a few feet away from Helena and others who laid in an unconscious state, a sudden ball of white light came out under its foot and shone in brilliance. The following instant, a giant magic rune circle, appeared under that demon's foot and enveloped it completely.

Abium watched this let out a sigh and simply shook his head at that demon's futile attempt to free from that rune circle.

Because he already knew that the ball of water was a distraction.

'The real trap was already set before the fight even start, huh!.' He doesn't know what those scrolls were but felt a strong ice elemental fluctuation from that area.

Bounds of rune letters floated in an orbicular manner and completely bounded the demon.

"Mage Abium, please threw four high tier magic stone into that rune circle," Tabitha said.

Abium nodded his head and took out a few magic stones from his spatial ring and tossed it without hesitation.

Once those four magic stones made contact with that runic circles, it started to absorb all those mana from that mana stones and completely devoured it.

Then four sizeable white ice spears each around two meters long and 10 cm in diameter protruded from the ground and stabbed that demon's upper body one by one. Each spear skewered that snake demon's vital spots and finally wounded it fatally.

Only painful moaning and hissing sound heard as the demon opening and closing its wide jaw.

HISSS! It made one loud hissing sound, and the next second more than 15 dark chains contain red marking appeared from every part of its body.

"f.u.c.k! Dodge those chains at all costs!" Abium shouted and sped towards Baron and Helena. Meanwhile, Former King Lucius already dashed towards his daughter with an anxious expression.

Once Abium arrived towards Helena and Baron, he grabbed them in both hands and backed away. The following instant, all the other warriors were instantly got pierced by those black chains. Abium knew they would not die soon, but those chains were going to corrupt their bodies and mind.

Lily stood next to Tabitha and watched that unusual creature with a terrified expression.

'd.a.m.n, if this went rampage when I am stealing, I might be long dead.' She quickly tapped her spatial ring and grinned. Although she knew nothing about those materials, she was sure these materials were precious. Meanwhile, Tabitha already moved that ma.s.sive water ball and many icy chains came out from that ball of water.

But those chains now were instantly broken by that metal like chains. Moreover, few snakehead metal chains s.h.i.+fted their direction and moved towards all of them to attack. It was like a cat and mouse. Everyone began to run far from that demon to avoid being pierced by those black chains. Lily also trying her best to evade those chains and shouted in panic.

"Mister, do you have any plan? I don't think I will meet my sister again if it continued like this."

"I am thinking of one, so please hold on for a few seconds." Abium s.h.i.+fted his gaze toward's Tabitha and said.

"Lady Tabitha, can you use any spell to hold that demon for one second?"

"Mage Abium, if you think of using that dark steel bolt again, I think it won't work."

"Why is that?" This time Lucius asked with a little surprised expression.

"That demon is so cunning and it already aware Mage Abium has another dark steel bolt. That is why it was using one of its innate skills here to avoid being killed here."

"It seems except me; everyone seems knowledge of this creature." Lucius sighed.

"For now, withdraw from that demon's attacking range." Abium and others instantly withdrew away from there and moved 100 meters away from that demon.

"This distance should be enough," Tabitha muttered and peered at that demon. It stood there a hundred meters away with bloodshot eyes while all those fifteen black chains were moving in all directions making no room for them to attack. As for those warriors, they were all laid on beneath near to it's foot. Tabitha watches that creature in confusion, and she began to explain.

"I read about these creatures from Headmaster Alius's book collections. In those books, he said these snake demons are very cunning and cautious creatures. From my guess, this demon must have somehow already planted spies inside the royal castle and collected information before invading your royal treasury."

Tabitha's a.n.a.lysis was so accurate that it made Abium and Lily to be startled inside.

"Lady Tabitha, are you saying that Red python organization members and that mage Hogg are also under this demon's control?" Lucius asked in disbelief.

"Maybe. what I am saying with just a hypothesis." After a short pause, she continued.

"But there is something this didn't antic.i.p.ate that made its plan almost to fail." This moment Abium deeply impressed.

"What is it, Lady Tabitha?" Lucius probed.

"I don't know, but they didn't expect I return from the mission earlier. But what I am more puzzled is why it didn't try to escape from here?" She stopped her muttering and shouted.

"It somehow lost it's communication orb, huh!" Tabitha instantly confirmed when she started to recall its strange behavior earlier. Soon, her eyes s.h.i.+fted to Lily, who stared at that demon with a gaping mouth. Abium blinked his eyes rapidly when hearing Tabitha's reply, and he also looked at that blonde-haired girl in disbelief.
