[Sat.u.r.day, Afternoon]

Since we are now on something called 'study leave' we don't need to go into school anymore unless we have exams. We are supposed to use this time to study but I'm sure everyone just uses it to sleep and do their 'private business'.

Since I am a good person, I have woken up extra early today, meaning I was up a few minutes before midday, but that doesn't matter.

Today everyone is studying, Ethan, Kaylee, Sean, Ruby, Lily and myself. We have all met up to study as hard as we can, the only problem is…

"Why are we doing this at my house?"

"Because your parents are never in so it's a free house," Ethan said as he helped himself to food from my fridge.

"RIGHT THEN!" I said hoping to organise the group so they can all leave quickly. "Let's get started. Since we all excel in different things we should help each other with their weakest subjects."

"Good idea," Sean said. "My worst subject is science."

"Oh, me too. I'm also bad at science." Kaylee exclaimed.

That's not something to be proud of, Kaylee…

"Well, ok. I guess I'll help these two with science." Ethan said setting up in a little s.p.a.ce in the corner of the room.

"My weakest is also science," Lily said.

Why does everyone suck at science? I thought Lily was smart. Her mock exams were always really high, but I guess everyone sucks at something.

"Well, well, well." Queen Ruby began to look down on her subjects. "Unlike you guys, I don't have a weak subject. I'm just that good."

"Perfect, go sit on your own," I said.

"Why don't I help you with music?" She replied. "Still think you can beat me?"

"Of course. I don't need your help with music, I'm not afraid to admit my worst subjects are English and French, so I'll be revising those."

"Oh, I can help with English later," Lily suggested.

We started revising and professor Ethan was already annoyed with Sean. He had taught Kaylee before and knew her weaknesses but he was always blind to Sean's stupidity.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" He screamed distracting everyone. "Why are you so bad. Why can't you just understand like Lily!"

Ethan had a fit. We all stopped revising to watch, the hardest part was trying not to laugh.

"Good, now you get it."

After some time he calmed down and managed to teach Sean. Although it was like watching someone wrestle a tiger, he managed in the end.

Sometime later we decided to have a break. It was around dinner time so I was forced to cook something with Kaylee. Ethan was against it for obvious reasons but Kaylee and I are the only ones that have some cooking experience. Lily has tons of baking experience so she said she'd make us a cake and went with Sean to get ingredients. So now here I am, in this silent kitchen, with Kaylee. Do I bring up the taboo topic?

"So, Kaylee?" I asked. "What do you think of Ethan?"

She seemed surprised to hear my question, but maybe she was preparing herself for it.

"He's a great friend. He's pretty funny and we get along well."

Maybe she doesn't know that I'm aware of her feelings and wishes to keep me in the dark. I don't understand the weight of this, I could tell her right now about Ethan's feelings, but should I? Bella wanted me to get them to confess, but it's easier if I just tell her now. What should I do?

"You know, Owen." Kaylee began to speak. "I can't help but feel you've been a bit lonely lately."

What a sudden observation. She's managed to turn this into me. How diabolical.

"I guess, I'm always lonely though. I never see my parents so It's like I already live alone."

"Hmm, you know that's not what I was talking about."

Perhaps I did, it was like I was face to face with a counsellor. This girl who I've completely underestimated since the start was surprisingly good at getting information out of me, for some reason I feel as if I can trust her. Something about her smile speaks 'You can trust me'.

"I'm worried about the future."

"How so?" She asked.

"We are about to finish Year 11. It's a huge time in our lives. Who knows what will happen, some of us may move onto Sixth Form whilst others may go to a college. I'm worried we'll never see each other again."

"For someone who always acts tough and has a stern face, you are surprisingly caring on the inside."

I can't really deny her on that. She's right, I've always been soft and worried about my friends. These people I've spent 5 years of my life were about to disappear. Even if I say I hated it, I didn't. Even today, I had a lot of fun. I just wish it could last forever.

"Are you planning to go Sixth Form?" Kaylee asked.

"I hope so. I don't know about the others though. I know Ethan will get the grades to stay on, but Sean is who I'm worried about. Don't take this personally but even yourself I'm worried about. It's strict to get in and I fear we may all get separated."

"Well, I guess we just have to study then," Kaylee replied.

This girl is certainly strange. She calls me caring but she is the most caring of all. She's always cared about Ethan's feelings which is why she hasn't confessed already. She fears change. Just like me, she doesn't want to ruin what we already have.

"It won't change, you know," I said. "Maybe you should try and think about it more. It won't change that much."

Kaylee looked at me with a puzzled look. I can't tell if she is playing dumb or if she really knows what I mean. She could be an actress when she grows up.

"Well, looks like everything is ready," Kaylee said. "I'll go get the others."

I may not know what will happen tomorrow, and that scares me. I won't know if we'll be together in the years to come. We may all leave one another and that scares me. I don't know how to face the future, I don't know if I can. People always say to take it head-on and give it your all, but isn't that scary?
