[Sat.u.r.day, afternoon]

Sometimes the weather can be unpredictable. You think you've had the worst of it when it comes to the blazing sun but the next day is hotter. On the day that was said to be the hottest in many years, most people gathered outside to cool themselves off. Most people can't work in these conditions as this country isn't used to extreme heats. Our trusty protagonists all gathered in their local park. Although there were many screaming children and dying parents, they all had one goal in mind.

"Are you all ready?" Ethan said wielding several water balloons in one hand.

"Wait wait wait," Owen said. "What are we doing? Are we doing a dodgeball style thing? Are we having teams?"

"Alright calm down, Mr rules. I guess since you don't want to be ganged up on we shall have rules."

"I was going to be ganged up on?" Owen thought to himself.

"OKAY!" Ethan screamed. "Everyone come here and pick a number."

The 6 of them quickly picked through the numbers as the heat was already unbearable.

The teams were as follows: team 1: Owen, Ruby and Ethan. Team 2: Sean, Kaylee and Lily.

With the teams decided they divided the balloons between themselves and were given a few minutes to prepare a strategy.

Although the teams did seem random, they will never be truly random when Owen and Ethan are involved. Ethan will always try his hardest to be on the same team as Kaylee, but Owen will never allow it. He will always find a way to make it so it goes in his favour, and today, he did just that.

"Ok. Here is our plan." Owen said. "Ethan will always go for Kaylee."

"What? No? I can't do that?" He said as if he wasn't already going to do it.

"Look," Ruby said. "You can't be on the same team so your best bet is to go and PLAYFULLY throw a few at her and get hit back. Just don't make it obvious."

"But it's elimination." Owen said. "if he's. .h.i.t he is out."

Meanwhile, on the other side of the field, the other team, discussed their strategy, with Sean leading the meeting.

"Alright, this is how it will go. Hand me all the balloons and I'll throw them from a mile away and never miss."

"Hehe, what a strange plan, Sean." Kaylee said, "I kinda want to hit Ruby in the face."

"I also want to hit someone," Lily said filled with determination.

"Perfect. Then shall we a.s.sign targets?" Sean suggested. "Kaylee can take Ruby, I'll take Ethan and Lily will take Owen."

"Sounds good." Lily and Kaylee agreed.

"Perfect. Everyone hand in." Sean put his hand in the centre and a confused Lily and Kaylee joined him.

"Ready…. Team... FIGHT!!!!!" Sean shouted as he lifted his hands in the air.

"F...F-fight!" Lily repeated but was rushed with embarra.s.sment after seeing that Kaylee didn't join in.

The match started with the two groups opposite one another. They both had malicious intentions and were hoping their plans would succeed.

"Ready… Go!" Although it would be unfair for one team to do the countdown, everyone trusted Sean's sportsmans.h.i.+p to be fair and not create a false start.

With the two teams both on edge, it was time for team salmon roe (Ruby, Owen and Ethan) to initiate their strategy. The plan masterfully named: Operation Ethan's wet love life. Although there were many disagreements about the name they ran out of time and had to go with it.

Ethan slowly snuck pa.s.sed the other's who were distracted but couldn't get Sean off his back.

Sean was watching him like a hawk and pelted a few balloons at him that he definitely would have been hit by if he wasn't fueled by his failing love.

"Sorry, Sean. You are going to have to move." Ethan said.

"Oh really? And why is that?"

As Sean spoke several balloons splashed to the side of him, causing him to jump out of the way.

"Because I'm here!" Owen stated as if he was the main character who just returned from an intense training arc.

"Two on one, huh?" Sean said.

"Nope, sorry. It'll just be me today." by the time Sean had realised, Ethan had already runoff. He headed towards Kaylee who was in a battle with Ruby, that didn't look as if it was going to end well.

"Is this revenge for dodgeball?" Sean asked Owen.

"Maybe." He replied. "I'm just helping out a friend, that's all."

"I see. I do feel kinda bad. Seeing as now it is two vs one against you."

On Sean's signal, Lily appeared to attack her target. She threw two water balloons in hopes they would land. It's a shame, but also extremely cute, how they didn't even make it to Owen.

Whilst Ruby defended off Kaylee, Ethan came running in and swapped out for Ruby. Ruby restocked Ethan with some balloons and ran off to support Owen.

"Hey, Ethan!" Kaylee said smiling through her murderous intent. "How are you?"

As Kaylee spoke Ethan remembered Ruby's words of acting natural and being playful, although he had no idea what that meant he was certain that whatever he would do was 'playful'.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine." He said. "What about you?"

"I'm doing good. Would you mind doing me a favour?" Kaylee asked.

"Of course, what is it?"

"Can you die for me?" Kaylee's pure exterior hid her true intent, without even being aware of what was going on, Ethan was drenched and out the game.

At the two vs one, Owen was just able to hold off until Ruby arrived. Although it may not seem like it both these groups thought extensively about this battle. Team Salmon roe had a feeling that the other team would pick their targets, and decided on a counter plan.

That plan being, whoever comes to help in the two vs one, must take out Sean whilst he isn't aware.

This plan went well, for the most part, Ruby successfully threw two balloons that were aiming straight for Sean, he was unable to dodge in time. But before they reached their target, Lily jumped in the way, sacrificing herself.

"NOOOOOOO!" Sean screamed in agony. "Why!? Why did you do this?"

"B-because…" Lily said in her last breaths. "I… want you to live."

Lily collapsed in Sean's arms. Of course, this is all acting as they are just using water balloons.

"Looks like it's a two vs two," Owen said.

"Don't let your guard down!" Ruby exclaimed, but it was far too late. Before they had realised, water balloons had already drenched their faces, both of them stood no chance, and team Salmon Roe lost on a war they fought so hard to win.

"Good game guys!" Sean said.

"Yeah yeah. Whatever." Team Salmon Roe, the team comprised of the sore losers of the group, hated that they had to admit defeat. Even if they did try to claim Sean cheated.

The team was upset about their loss, anyone would be. The air was heavy but although they lost their main problem came from Ethan.

"Why are you so s.h.i.+t at love?" Owen said kicking him whilst he was on the ground, soaking wet.

"We set this up for you and you fail." Ruby joined in.

"Ow ow… Sorry… oW…. Her smile was just too cute…. Ow."

Owen and Ruby looked down on him, you could say that they shared a similar killing intent that everyone had earlier, except this time they didn't want to use water balloons.
