The room was for someone else but here we were sharing. Him gifting it too me. The food, the drinks, the trinkets were collected over the years for one lady.

I paused and gave him the look.

"Please, take it. You've earned it. Just stay safe and think everything over. Here have a drink, love."He said pouring me a gla.s.s of wine.

"The pleasure was mine, love." He said smiling.

I tried hard to stop my heart from breaking. The magical moment was over. I was back to being Cinderella looking at my stepsisters going to the ball and my fairy G.o.dmother had used up her magic. There was no second chance for me.

I leaned back and closed my eyes, then shook my head. For once I was out of words. He was very generous and it made me want to forget.
