There are times when you see people have cake and think it's nice if you could have one too. And then there are times that you tasted Cake. Knowing that the rest of it is not for you.

The room was for someone else but here we were sharing. Him gifting it too me. The food, the drinks, the trinkets were collected over the years for one lady.

I paused and gave him the look.

"Please, take it. You've earned it. Just stay safe and think everything over. Here have a drink, love."He said pouring me a gla.s.s of wine.

I tried hard to stop my heart from breaking. The magical moment was over. I was back to being Cinderella looking at my stepsisters going to the ball and my fairy G.o.dmother had used up her magic. There was no second chance for me.

"One more thing, I really don't need to know anything of the details but I really need to know how long there is a we?"

"Gene, come here."

He smiled and my heart broke, my chance of happily ever after was gone. His real mate was going to take him back. The potion had made me attached to him, I was mated for a while and it will have to be enough for me. Fate did give me a chance at my dreams.

I was shocked speechless.

I leaned back and closed my eyes, then shook my head. For once I was out of words. He was very generous and it made me want to forget.
