My Perverse Equivalent Exchange System In Doomsday 52 Survivors

The heavy door of the Black Shark opened as a pair of black boots landed on the semi transparent platform.

Long Yu had geared himself up in an anti-fire and corrosion outfit before preparing to approach the mutated spider's corpse. He also wore a gas mask as he did not know if the spider's venom would emit any poisonous particles into the air.

With these safety measures in place, Long Yu stride towards the corpse while paying attention to his surroundings. He was prepared to retreat if a dangerous existence like the mutated spider were to appear.

As he got close to the corpse, Long Yu probed it with a few kicks. After seeing that there was no response, his tensed shoulders eased slightly.

It was not his fault for being overly cautious. The venom of the spider was just that perverse. If a simple touch from it could damage military grade t.i.tanium, then imagine what it would do to the human body.

'Luckily, I don't have to dig for the core,' Long Yu thought to himself as he placed his right hand over the hard carapace.

'Confirm.'

Long Yu did not intend to harvest any of the corpse's material since it was useless to him. Not only was the meat of the spider poisonous, its carapace had also been destroyed into pieces.

After the corpse of the mutated spider disappeared, what was left on the ground was a patch of yellow substance that was persistently eating at the concrete. Within the goo, sat a coin sized mutant core. Despite the horrifying corrosive property of the venom, the core seemed fine.

Long Yu used a pair of steel tongs to pick the core up while avoiding contact with any of the venom.

'Are mutant cores innately indestructible, or is this particular one just immune to corrosion?' he mused as he stared at the dark green core that was emitting a faint trace of light.

Since it wasn't too big of a deal, Long Yu no longer thought about this matter. He directly stored the tongs and core away into the system before walking back to the vehicle.

After crossing the intersection a while ago, Long Yu drove along the streets, heading in the direction of the city's other exit.

While driving, he noticed some zombie activity in the distance. They were apparently attracted by a noise which came from an alley nearby. With crazy fervour in their red eyes, the zombies ran towards their soon to be meal.

'Are there survivors around here?' Long Yu was surprised at the discovery.

He stepped on the pedal as the Black Shark sped up, ramming those the zombies into meat paste.

Looking towards the direction that the zombies were heading to, he saw a dark alleyway.

Instantly, his sight focused on the group of three that was running out of the alley. It was his first time discovering survivors ever since they entered the city!

With a glance, he realised the reason that was causing the survivors to run for their lives. It was a small horde of zombies that was chasing them from behind.

"Ahhh!!! Help!!"

The loud desperate shriek of a woman could be heard along the dark alleyway. Mixed amongst the commotion were the sounds of hurried footsteps and hoa.r.s.e moans that made one's skin crawl.

A small group consisting of two young women and a middle aged man were currently running for their lives from a small horde of zombies.

Looking at their clothes, they were all wearing office attires. The tags that they wore over their necks also revealed a similar company logo. Obviously, there was some sort of relation between them; perhaps colleagues, or subordinates.

While they were escaping, one of the women running behind, accidentally tripped and fell down.

"Nooo!! Don't come over!!"

"Mr. Zhang! Wei Ying! Help me!!" The woman on the ground begged, tears and snot all over her face.

Unfortunately, her companions only stopped for a second, before proceeding to run again. The hint of hesitation that were originally in their eyes vanished the moment their survival instincts kicked in.

There was only one thought in their minds. 'We can use her as bait to buy ourselves more time!'

Filled with despair and disappointment in the people that she trusted, the woman closed her eyes, as if welcoming her doom. The zombies behind were now only a meter away. Within seconds, they would surely sink their teeth into the poor woman.

*Screech*

At that moment, a black armoured vehicle abruptly pulled up not far away from the group.

*Tak* *Tak* *Putchi*

Sounds of bullets penetrating the skull of an unlucky zombie in the front, rang.

Without pause, multiple gunshots could then be heard as several zombies were also shot in the head.

Long Yu used his excellent marksmans.h.i.+p skill to quickly kill off the zombies. Not even a minute later, the small horde was wiped out by his a.s.sault rifle that was resting on the car's open window.

Seeing this, the middle aged man and woman who were running in front, stopped in their tracks. They were totally shocked by the sudden turn of event.

The woman on the floor who had prepared to die was just as surprised. Gathering her courage, she gingerly opened her eyes only to see the once terrifying horde of zombies, on the ground, all dead.
