Van calmly watched the 4 young cultivators standing outside his door. A crowd had started to form from other disciples pa.s.sing by.

"It's young master Feng Lin! Looks like he's got his 3 lackeys also."

"I wonder who had such bad luck that they picked the cave that he had been desiring ever since he heard of the Inner Sect Immortals' Caves."

Young Master Feng Lin is currently an Inner Sect Disciple. His 3 lackeys are outer sect disciples. But from exceptions by his ident.i.ty, they were allowed to follow him into the Inner Sect Area without special permission. Young Master Feng Lin had just been promoted to his rank as Inner Sect Disciple when he headed over to select his immortal's cave.

He heard from the Registrations Disciple that someone had already picked the immortals cave that he wanted. He didn't dare fight one of the top Inner Sect Disciples for one of the better already occupied caves so he decided to investigate the owner's ident.i.ty. Turns out it was just some fresh fish with no experience that had come in.

Feng Lin stared at Van's immortal's cave licking his lips. This new disciple will have given him a new immortal's cave.

"I would like to thank you."

Feng Lin looked surprised. Was this kid dull or something? Anyone could tell that he and his lackeys didn't exactly have the best of intentions.

"Why? Did we help you in some way?"

"Oh, yes. You helped me very much. I was just in need of some exercise."

Van smiled calmly. Of course, in the eyes of the 4 outside, Van was looking down on them.

Feng Lin and his lackeys started to fume at Van's words. How dare this new disciple look down on them?

The crowd started whispering and backing up. They could tell that tensions were high and a fight could break out at any moment.

"Time to teach you a lesson you'll never forget. If you can survive my lackeys, you can have a taste of my fist."

Feng Lin stood there while his three lackeys advanced. They found Van to only be at the 4th Stage of Dantian Formation. Of course, he was at a much higher level, but they didn't know that. After all, there is the saying, "Ignorance is bliss."

And in this case, it was very true. Until they find out for themselves that is.

Van stood there calmly as he watched the 3 lackeys at the 4th Stage of Dantian Formation advance on him. I'll give them the surprise of their lives. Van thought to himself and smiled.

"Come on. I'm just one person at the 4th Stage of Dantian Formation. It won't hurt."

Van said to them, mockingly. One of them backed up a bit. What if he was hiding his real cultivation base? Sadly for him, the other two were infuriated and immediately threw themselves at Van.

"Hurricane Fist!"

"Arcane Totem!"

An incarnation of the wind element appeared next to one of the two attacking Van while the other seemed to have created a small tornado on his fist. Van flicked one of his fingers and dispelled both moves instantly.

The crowd gasped in shock. Those were all out attacks by two cultivators at the 4th Stage of Dantian Formation! Even a cultivator at the 5th Stage would have to take it seriously, not to mention one at the 4th Stage.

Feng Lin started to sweat. He seemed to have offended someone that he shouldn't have offended. But since he had already started it, he might as well finish it too.

Now that Feng Lin rea.s.sessed Van, he found Van to be at the 5th Stage of Dantian Formation. Impossible! Feng Lin thought to himself. I swear I found him to be at the 4th Stage just a second ago!

Could it be... that Van was at least at the 6th Stage?!

Feng Lin smiled wryly. Even with his ident.i.ty, others could easily beat him and the elders wouldn't punish those more talented disciples just to satisfy his ego. But if he was seriously harmed or died, they would act immediately.

Feng Lin got into a battle stance and let out a deep breath. His eyes started to glow a golden color as he started at Van.

"Raging Torrents!"

Feng Lin was cultivating a rather high ranked martial technique of the Flowing River Sect. His ident.i.ty as an Inner Sect Elder's son allowed him to practice the first volume. Alas, his ident.i.ty wasn't enough to allow him to practice the second volume. If he did, he would've at least aroused Van's interest.

Once again, the fist was dispersed and Van was still calmly standing there while 4 youths lay on the ground around him. Besides a rather ruffled robe, Van's condition wasn't any different than he was before the fight even started.

Van's expression turned fierce as he turned to Feng Lin.

"Didn't you say you would teach me a lesson that I will never forget? How about I teach you a lesson instead."

Van started to smile rather maliciously. Feng Lin was horrified. With Van's strength, he could easily kill Feng Lin.

"I.. I'm the son of Feng Yu!"

"Who? Never heard of him."

Feng Lin's jaw dropped. Who hadn't heard of the most brutal elder of the inner sect?! But then again, Van had just joined the Sect.

One of the cultivators in the crowd spoke up for Feng Lin.

"Feng Yu is the most brutal elder in the Inner Sect! I've heard he's thrown disciples that have deeply offended him into the river!"

Some in the crowd shuddered. They had been around long enough to have seen that event. One of the Inner Sect Disciples were arrogant and had decided he would defeat Feng Yu and take his position as an Inner Sect Elder. At the time, Feng Yu was considered the weakest of the Inner Sect Elders.

As a result, Feng Yu beat him in a match and threw the disciple in the river. They could still see the disciple shrieking as he melted away in the river water.

Van contemplated the matter set before him. The Inner Sect Elders were only at the peak stages of Dantian Formation with the strongest being at the 1st Stage of Inner Discovery. With Van's strength, he could become a Core Disciple in a few months at the most.

Van hadn't had a fight against someone with a similar cultivation base in a while. Fighting against this Inner Sect Elder would give him more combat experience for the struggles to come.

Van gave a hand to Feng Lin and pulled him up, smiling. Feng Lin thought to himself. I'll tell my father about this! He'll throw you in the river like that other disciple!

When Feng Lin and his lackeys were about to leave, Van threw out a fist for each and knocked them all flat on the ground.

The crowd was dumbstruck, did Van not hear what they had just said? Or was he arrogant enough to offend the Inner Sect's most brutal elder?

Van continued to beat Feng Lin and his lackeys. Van ceased his beating after Feng Lin and his lackeys could barely walk anymore.

"No one can insult me and vandalize my property without paying for it. Even a son of an Inner Sect Elder."

Van pulled out Feng Lin's spatial ring and wiped away the spiritual mark. Feng Lin coughed out his blood in anger and the injury from wiping away the spiritual mark. Van found the volume of the high ranked martial technique of the Flowing River Sect. It was called, "Calm Torrents". It was a rather strange name, but the technique itself was top notch.

Van kept it for Ye Shui. As one of his first followers, he had to give them resources to help him get stronger.

The crowd started to look at Van as if they had just seen a dead man. This new Inner Sect Disciple dared to offend an Inner Sect Elder and not just any Inner Sect Elder, but the 2nd strongest one too.

Feng Yu was at the 9th Stage of Dantian Formation and could defeat those at the 10th Stage. He was considered a genius back in his day.

Van picked up the four cultivators and threw them at the crowd. He then fixed the fence and walked back into his immortal's cave.
